Sculpt in zbrush and texture in substance painter.. I do tend to use custom UVs, which is an area I still need to learn a few things in. In terms of bones, it's mainly adjust rig to shape and then compensate with jcm morphs.
It seems like you started geografting too? The Drago is really cool!
Yep, Sickleyield taught me how.
Has anyone put some robes or any sort of clothing on Drago?
I just tried. It's kind of a pain, IMO.
The scale morphs can be extreme in the thigh and shoulder areas, so you're probably going to want tank tops and loincloths (if you put clothes on him at all), maybe Speedos/banana hammocks/tighty whiteys.
I was thinking of making him like a dragonborn in D&D and perhaps put him in wizard's robes. If his head can be morphed separately from the body, that would make things much easier. I'm assuming that isn't an option?
Well, he's cool regardless, so I just bought him. I'm going to see if I can at least put some armor bits on him.
Drago is a single "Drago HD" dial.
dForce might be able to smooth out a robe over all the bumps if you blew up the clothing enough, I guess.
A partial Drago dial might also be okay, like Drago HD at 50% only (still pretty lizardly). That can also help dampen some of the issues, although a dForced robe would probably survive better than a conformer.
I shared some partial dials in another thread to show what he would look like. 50% dialed in seems to be the best of both worlds, though I didn't try to put clothes on him when I did the test. Each picture has a title with the dial labled. So left to right 40 - 50 - 60 -70
Thanks everyone! I'm rendering him right now wearing one of the outfits by BadKitteh Co. Some of the straps don't quite make it, but overall I'm quite happy with the look. The little bit of pokethru can be remedied in PS easily. I'm glad I took the plunge.
I might be able to make a projection morph for it in the next few days.
That would be outstanding! I mean, I am buying it anyway, but the cherry on top is always appreciated.
Thanks for the info - D&D Dragonborn was my first idea, too, but all my friends' Dragonborn characters wear armor
Joe, I love your products, but I really wish you didn't use such weird UVs.
My instinct is that there'd be a lot of stretching and distortion if I attempted to use the default UVs.
I'm not disputing the potential benefits of custom UVs, but the particular way you do it can make your products a little difficult to use in any non-standard way.
Another render of https://www.daz3d.com/storybook-mouse-for-genesis-81-males
"Come on! Or are you scared to wrestle with me, human?"
Do I love Drago? I think I might... ;-)
Drago is an astonishing figure.
Does anyone have a render of the Storybook Mouse unmorphed back to human size, but with the fur skin on? Was wondering what it would look like, could be funny.
Like this?
DRAGOOOOO
Of course, there's already a JoeQuick killer croc...
https://www.daz3d.com/sobek-hd-crocodile-for-genesis-8-male
I immediately recognized Sobek for what he really is: Leatherhead.
edit: now to dial Mr. Woo into the Storybook Mouse to make Splinter, which is probably why Joe made the mouse in the first place.
Wanna play?
@Oso3D Very cool looking shaders on Drago and the background... are those from your Toon Shader product?
Cheese It!
There's a new sheriff in town.
Actually, no; PWToon. I did color and outline separately, ran color through Watercolor filter in FotoSketcher.
Took a little finesse to get lines where they should be.
