Just a quick render from me, only managed to pick him up last night. :)

Have to go to Uni in a few minutes but when I get home intend to play with a trans map to see if I can hide the front panel of the robe and part of the skirt to get an open robe effect for Harry Potter type renders.

    Aruba, Jamaica...

Everyone had heard of Gandalf the Grey. His lesser known cousin, Candeldorf the Slightly Cinnerous, was enjoying cashing in on his fanily members fame as he kicked back on the beach during his annual vacation (perfectly timed, as always, to avoid any Order-organised trips to volcanoes, abandoned dwarf mines or dragon-infested kingdoms), sipping cocktails, catching up on trashy crime novels and catching the rays. If he let people think he was old Gany for a couple of weeks to get better service from the resort staff - well, where was the harm?

He never saw the attack coming.

His cocktail, a chilled fruity concoction, a bar tender's work of art, was the only casualty, and was much mourned.

Ha ha that is funny one, I can't wait myself for the beach time and relax ..until then work work work :)

I am sure you can hide the parts as well since the polys go straight down

@ Sassy ..package already on the way lol

Here is a preview of the wizard portrait rendered in Poser Pro 2014. At last if I can say so because the whole render is not yet finished. I have imported the different maps that are not present in the Poser mats (normal maps, bump maps,...) and I have added personal SSS to the character with EZSkin 2. The final image will be posted in my gallery soon but I want to post a preview here even if it still a WIP. :)

That is very nice !! the custom materials should be under Material Library , the material on the clothing you loading to the scene are default for the character and the clothing , that why they need to be replaced with the custom one that was provided as I mentioned before
but I see you did good anyway editing the defaults

    thanks for sharing

Thank you very much for your kind words! :)

I think that it is important that you precise that the custom Poser materials are available. I just missed them in the materials library but now I see them... I believe that I was distracted because very impatient to start to work with the wizard...

It was meanwhile a good opportunity for me to discover the Poser material room since I started to work on the basic materials loading with the character and outfit.

So the beard does not work with other face shapes? at least the robe works with other shapes.

I was wondering last night why it was not visible last night with the default G2M

NO the beard will no work with other HEAD shapes unless the wizard head morph is tourn at last 50% , the beard is reverse deformation created exclusive to match the Wizard Head , I am working for a new Unshaven system in HD format , for that reason I am adding the facial hair just as a bonus to my characters and keep the price on the level . I like that my characters have everything they need without purchasing additional products to function if you know what I mean ., other way it would be not character but preset .. :)

thanks for sharing your lovely render!

I am a Big fan of the Un-Shaven set. But to me the HD, even on my Power PC, i7 hex, is not something I wish to render that often. It has its uses and does great things I do admit. I will enjoy anything along the lines of Un-Shaven but can I make a suggestion? I would like to see more coloring domains, think salt and pepper beards and maybe even some presets. To me that would make the usefulness far expanded.

I like the HD but I would also like a regular and maybe medium rez version because I do not want background men's beards clogging up my render time.

I fully understand , this is not sense to make something that will render forever as I am against it , all my HD tests rendered not much slower than regular since we don't need more than 1 subdivision , usual HD get to 9 what is not even needed .. so good settings will improve render time as I pay attention what I am doing, I want also to have different sort of UV's for the peppering and also for the shades to make it a perfect set ..
also the base will be very low for the background rendering , and you can switch to the level of details you like , the reason of doing it is that I want to facial hair to be more realistic than before with a new shaders to make them looks like the real thing technically and visually ..

    Thank you.

He is a wonderful character. I did very little except to pose and try to light him well.
