Almost done ! with the new installation.. one more day to go with all the stuff :(
before when you buy TV or Monitor it last for decade or until you don't want to have it anymore now it is a disposable junk of plastic lol
but installing all your programs and stuff is the worse part of that so boring waste of time ..

Question - those of us who received the alchemist texture set for posting a render - is that under the normal daz licence or a more restricted one? eg, can we use it for commissioned works or would we need to purchase the store version for the full licence?

You can use it the same way as the Wizard product you purchased from the store .. no special restrictions

Thanks :) Sorry for the delayed reply, my email sub seems to have dropped so I didn't see it until I came looking for the thread again.

I'm having a weird issue with the beard at the moment. It's... not showing up. I click it, it loads, I get no error messages and there's no issues showing in the log, it shows up in the scene tab but... it doesn't show up in the scene, either in preview or render. It is fit to G2M. I've checked the surface opacity, and it's set to visible in parameters, it's just... not?

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, closing and restarting studio and rebooting the computer but it hasn't fixed the issue, and I've tried both the latest beta and the stable build. It was working fine last time I used it a couple of weeks ago.

You need to turn on the wizard head to have the beard showing up
:) if you have the Alchemist installed you can ten control the shape and length of the beard

huh, don't think I've ever stumbled on a prop that only worked on a specific morph. So there's no way to use it on other chars then?

THanks for the quick reply :)

Edit: okay, it works if I show hidden parameters on the beard and just dial the GW head in there without dialing it on G2M. Workable. :)

it is not a prop , it is reverse deformation animated beard figure exclusive for the wizard .. as stated on the product page
the beard is only to use with the wizard as it was created to match exactly the face , it may looks just simple but it is very complex creation
and it was a bonus for the clothing set ..
facial hair are the most time consuming setup as all facial morphs need to be created as auto do not work on fibers geometry

the bonus beard in my last Greek product The Spartan can be used with all genesis male shapes
and my future standalone Unshaven 2 HD ..so you will have all functionality and ready for all shapes with a lot of beard shapes and morph ..

sorry you missed the info .. if you really need it, you can do as follow, load the wizard head , then export the beard geometry , load it back and use as smart prop by parenting it to the head .. it will not working with facial expression but only with poses

    No worries. :)

Sorry if I came off as upset/bothered - I really wasn't, it just wasn't something I'd come across before so it was a bit of a '...huh, so that's a thing? I didn't know that' moment. I've found if I just dial in the head shape on the beard (in the hidden parameters) it works mostly, as long as the character I use it on doesn't have too narrow a jaw. I've seen your progress threads here, I know how much work you put into stuff and how much attention you put into the detail and I definitely didn't feel like I'd been tricked or anything.

I just thought I'd double check on the second point, but then figured it out myself after I posted. I don't mind using the workaround at all, now that I know it's there. Just dialing the head in on the beard works well enough for the project I'm doing right now (a friend wants an illustration of the scene in GoF where Fred and George cross the age line and get beards).

Thank you for the help and answers, and this definitely hasn't affected my happiness with the set at all.

Definitely looking forward to your Greek sets though, think my excitement's split pretty much 50/50 between the curly short hair and the outfits themselves (I've been looking for hair like that for a long time).

Oh that is good .. I forgot to tell you about the hidden parameters .. blond moment

The curly hair will be free with the Hercules outfit by purchasing Spartan or Hoplite soldier for 24h so I hope you don;t miss this special promotion ..
The curly hair is nothing phenomenal , it is just early idea but surprising it was looking fine hahaha so I added to the free set the short version only .. as I run with problems with the long sides on other shapes so I made it short as in the last preview

and you know me I am always worry about my customers .. and sometimes I need to find a simple way to make things better, less time consuming and affordable .. selling a dress without shoes is ok, but having the dress with matching shoes is always better :)

    good luck with your project!!
and if anything let me know :)

Well I just got this today, and I'm currently cooking a picture as I type this. The beard and heir are what really sold this for me by the way the clothes were a bonus. Been trying to make a decent St. Nick picture for my mother for two weeks now and this plus the aging morphs have made it possible. Will post once its all done cooking.

Well here it is. It is also the first render I've done with Reality/Lux that I truly like. Only post work was to add my signature.
