Yes, I would have mentioned that if it was something I was doing.
I don't know whether I should be reviving this older thread or starting my own, but I am encountering this same problem with my Log.
Has this problem from June returned now since the massive site overhaul?
I'm running Windows 10 64-bit, my DS is version 4.12.1.118 and I install using the DIM or manual installation for products purchased outside of Daz3D. My Anti-Virus is ESET.
I too am am seeing this since getting version 4.14 and the Octane plugin. First it happened on starting Daz but when I clicked away the "duplicate file" error it was business as usual. But it's just crashed Daz on me.
I am running Windows 10 64-bit.
This has resurfaced in DAZ Studio 4.14.0.8 ... or is it just me?
This is, I believe, a store issue stemming from the update - it's just coincidence that the DS update was released a week later.
Is there any word on when this problem will be corrected?
I'm seeing this right before Studio crashes on my machine while attemptng to perform a dynamics simulation using a particular set of clothing, as detailed in my thread over here:
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/453646/dforce-chicxlook-outfit-crashes-on-simulation
I cannot for the life of me figure out why a busted http call would crash out a dforce simulation, but here we are.
I thought was the missing info in many of the products when you right click in any of them for More Information.
I have been getting these same symptoms. I'm relieved that it isn't just me, I thought maybe my cpu was going senile. I wish I had thought to check here before I spent hours running recovery commands, reinstaling everything, totally re-formatting my whole system, taking it to the repair shop, and buying more ram and a new video card. >.< (not that both those things weren't huge improvements)
This has been going on since just after Halloween and has caused me a lot of stress to put it mildly.
Update::thought the beta had fixed it....nope!
This is probably going to continue to persist until the teething problems with updating the site have been resolved. Unless it has nothing to do with the recent massive site upgrade.
Hopefully it will be resolved soon, because it is driving me batty.
Once I made these changes, I don't see those annoying messages in the log anymore.
I already had the participate in the Daz Studio Improvement Program disabled, but I tried working offline rather than letting it log in and it solved the error message.
Until this is fixed, I'll have DS ask about working offline to avoid the errors.
Finally set my Daz Studio to work offline. Got tired of weeks of this "ET-phone home" error when checking logs.
Adding to grumble about this issue back. Meta Data fail for 3 items every time open new Daz session (Open ticket with today being 30day anniversary) also avoided this way. Plus just saw in DIM stuff had downloaded on Dec 11th since fix announced, and shows as not installed today. Reinstalled just to see time stamp on folder. Orig Dec 11 - modified today.
Seems, Daz still has a few gremlins they need to catch. Work offline option is appreciated.
Working offline is a way of stopping the error message spam in the log, but I don't thik it can be a permanant solution. If I have been working offine for a few days, I start getting error messages from Octane and DS crashes on launch. As soon as I let DS work online, I'm good to go for another week offline.
I'm getting a few Meta data errors as well on launch, as well as DIM is real hit and miss of what content will download and what will hang. So all in all, I think Daz has their hands full with all the errors that need to be corrected for so many people.
