El Cheapo's Flip Flops for Genesis 8 Female Daz Studio and Iray
FIXED by Catherine3687AB
FlipFlops by Stratdragon, files and mats remade by Catherine3678a. These will not overwrite the data files of the previous edition. I did include a few extra mat files. These are just props. Suggestion would be to parent them to the foot or toe - reposition and/or pose tweaks will of course be necessary. One does not run in flipflops.
Load G8F, load each flipflop, parent them as you please, then finish dressing and pose G8F.
The mat files are mostly left untouched save that they will now load the texture images. You may wish to adjust the bump values.
All the folders are in order so the My Library can be 'merged' as one normally would do with the existing My Library {where one puts the content for D/S - NOT the program folders}.
For further info. consult the original readme.
Enjoy,

Thank you but the data folder is missing.
All fixed now :-)
Wow! My bad.
New link at the top of the page.
Thank you. My first attempt to get the textures applying didn't work out too well ... but we'll get there.
missing or wrong path? whats the path they want if it's path?
It seems that the link is broken.
No page for the flip flops on his page.
Patience guys. He's possibly fixing the pathways ;-)
found it.
fixed it.(?)
Thanks Catherine!
link reposted at the top of the page
The texture images aren't loading, calling for them in nonexistant places. But when I edit the pathways, the files still can't find them. It's a Puzzle. It may or not have to do with "Content" before the word Runtime ... but deleting that word didn't help either. These are supposed to be mat files.
Trying to set up some mat files from scratch ... all calls for images should end at Runtime.
Yet when I did, they still can't be found.

runtime/textures/stratdragon/seamlesssole.jpg

I tried renaming all the images to lowercase, that did not help either. In the files, they are not all lower case so I don't know what these files are truly looking for.
The loading files also don't load the textures. They were looking for B something or other.
Back to square one, I made them prop files again and redid all the texture mats.
They fit nicely, thank you :-)
can you send me what you did to fix them somehow? google drive maybe?
on that image is that sandal black or did the normals flip?
Normals are fine, the sandal is black ;-)
Yes I can send you the fix but I'll redo it first then 'cause I had the files saved to my own folders {not to be overwriting yours}. So I'll redo to your folders so you can release them then.
@ StratDragon PM sent.
one does not run in flip flops!
Thanks!
You're welcome ;-)
Thank you! Just an error loading saying it can't find data>Stratdragon or something... So I just created a Stratdragon folder there and put the flipflop data in it and all is well
Oops, thank you for mentioning this. Have put a note in the comments on the download page too.
I need to fix my data/runtime conflicts, sorry for the confusion.
I love the pic but I thought shrinkage only effects men in cold water. :)
Thank you and thank you for the fix Catherine. I also picked up the dr soul shoes, though not sure which G8 their for but will find out...lol
G8Female but you could proably scale them up for male
I'm having trouble unzip files for flipflops.
Sometimes you have to right click to unzip, depends on the format of the zip and the program you use to open it.
Sometimes one has to read a few posts ;-) I packaged that a little too quickly and do not have access {don't expect to either} to replace the zip.
So after downloading and unzipping the package, in the DATA folder, make another folder called "Stratdragon" ... then slide the "Flipflops" into it.
Then copy/merge/whatever the contents in with D/S's My Library ... as in data folder merged in with data folder, etc.
Open D/S and hopefully now they will load.
Hopefully this image will help illustrate the situation.
{received more info, problem was not in unzipping, was in trying to load them}
How do you make a folder from the C: file, and secondly you want these DUF. files or Dson. Support File in the StratDragon folder. I read your instruction above and the image you show me with a lot of thanks, but I want to make sure.
The folders for the My Library folder in the zip need to merge with the existing folders of the same name in your actual content directory - which might be My Library if you are using the defaults.
I have fun doing this too, (I find Poser runtimes easier to set up than DAZ content)
but it gets worse, as an Aussie I would call those thongs
But how do you create a folder. I'm doing the merging in file.
You already have a content directory to extract to - it is one of the ones that appears in the Content Library pane under Daz Studio Formats.
You create a new folder the same way you always do on your computer. Can right click and select create a new folder for example.
When you unzip the package, go into that data folder and in the place indicated, make a new folder. Then slide the folder Flipflops into that new Stratdragon folder you just made.
Leave everything else in the folders where they are.
Merge the My Library folder in with your existing My Library folder.
Open D/S and you should be able to find the flips flops in the Content Library. [not Smart Content].
