Part of it is my dislike of the Content Manager... too much of my content isn't DAZ material, and needs to be easily organized for both Studio and Poser (just did the upgrade to PP14), to the extent that material is usable in both programs. And I never did like the 'official' category system. And part of it is the 'what happens if something goes wrong?' If I'm downloading and testing one item at a time, I KNOW where the problem is. If a bulk system is doing it, I might not figure out what went wrong, or even that something DID go wrong.

It seems to know when something goes wrong. Well, at least when something will not download or install. And you can view the log to see the errors. But sometimes there is no rhyme or reason why the error occurred. There have been a few things that just don't install. At the end, I've been told to just install them manually. But out of the thousands of items, there a list of about eight that haven't been installed. And a few of those are things I don't want installed the way it wants to. And a couple that can't because I don't have the required software. Like the DAZ Bridge to Photoshop. it requires 64 bit Photoshop and I only have CS2, which is not 64 bit.

I am considering switching the content management to PostgreSQL, though. I am just a procrastinator and also have other things to tie my time up instead. But I'll get to it.

eta: If you can find one of those tutorials on creating the Meta-Data files for other things, then you supposedly can use the DIM to download and install zips from other sources. I think I've seen someone say they do that and it works for them.

...I switched to PostgreSQL and my entire database went *poof*. Not about to uninstall/reinstall all my Daz content (some of which is from the old Freebie vault days or has been discontinued) through the DIM.

Also like yourself I have a lot of content form other sources, as well as a massive collection of freebies, some of which are no longer available.

Did you use the migration tool that brings all the data from the other database? You should have done that right away after installing the PostgreSQL database. It will be in your downloads

...all I see is the PostgreSQL download. Don't see anything labelled "migration tool or CMS tools or anything like that.

So I take it flopping is faking a foul, falling down for no real reason?

Disgraceful! There is no longer any sport in sports.

This is what it is...it's right below the PostgreSQL CMS item.

...yep, In the Croatia - Mexico match one of Mexico's star players literally did a head over heels acrobatic flip after what was incidental contact as both he and a Croatian player were going for the ball. The Croatian player received a red card out of the deal.

...almost makes pro wrestling seem like a real sport.

The NBA at least made an attempt (a feeble as it is) to penalise players who flop to get foul calls by fining them 5,000$ per incident. Of course, compared to what most of those guys get paid, it would be like you or I dropping a quarter on the sidewalk.

Yeah, big money has basically taken the "sport" out of sports. Even the Olympics are not what they use to be.

...my resume must be dong the same thing as I keep getting referrals for high level executive and systems engineering positions.

However I actually have no qualifications for either.

...nor a driver's licence yet I get keep getting notices for truck driving jobs.

...the washateria I go to is very small and a bit of a walk away as well. Have to go very early in the morning to not stand around and wait for a washer or dryer. People there also seem to have a habit of leaving after starting their laundry and not return for a couple hours. The place is so small it only has a couple trolleys and tables for folding, so there is really not much space to place someone elese's clothing that is unloaded except on the floor. The next nearest one would require taking a bus (and paying 5$ just to get back & forth) as I cannot lug a heavy duffel over my shoulder for miles.

The only good thing, there is a brewpub across the street.

Used to have one only three blocks down the street but they tore that building down and replaced it with this ugly post modern condo thing that doesn't fir in with the rest of the neighbourhood at all. That one had a fun little dive bar right next door which had cheap beer/drink prices and pool. Was a regular there each week on "laundry day".

...machines seem to have that "sixth sense".

It's stupid, I think because of all the wildly varying contracts it messes with the recruiters keyword search tool, and I get everything from "database manager" to "mailroom clerk". I bet mailroom clerk is less stressful... :bug:

Toasted Mike, heh heh! I was just sitting here this morning when BOOM! I saw Rexy with a Mikeburger! So, since I have the tools.. I'll work on it this week! :ahhh: Maybe need a "Vicky's Diner".. heh, heh, heh.. :snake:

"*edit* I need to learn more about Comic Life.. I was fiddling with it this weekend and almost had 4 panels of Mike Vs Turtle! Wheeeeeeeee! :)
