So, AW's Chloe - Genesis 3 only?

Well, AW certainly goes her own way, doesn't she. How long has it been since there was a figure for G3 only? Weren't AW's other characters Growing-Up based? This one doesn't show it as a requirement.
Anyway, the character Chloe looks great, with really nice skin, and the promos are lovely. Here's to many more. But maybe G8 next time?
Another mystery: What is the adult character in the last promo? One doesn't often see non-included characters in character promos. Is that Chloe grown up?

She's sitting in my cart, but after yesterday's fun and games I scarcely dare buy anything. A couple of questions though, should AW be reading this thread: the fifth promo pic shows Chloe as a teen but there's no teen shown in the description (looks very nice too), and Chloe Mix? I'm not sure what that is.

Is MIX what the teenagers call themselves now?
Also, I don't know what the difference is between "preteen" and "tween". I tried looking it up and it seems they're the same thing.
I think she's really lovely, too, reminds me of Aster! Am being a cautious like you all are, though, because of the weird 'CART-wheels' the day before. So Angelwings, if you are reading this, we really love your figure and will eventually buy it, just a little patience please ... ;-)
And the install method is DAZ Central only. She doesn't show up in DIM- Install Manager. Mind you so are some of the other releases today so I'm hoping it's an oversight and will be fixed.
Hmm, her last characters on Rendo have been G8F. So G3F only is something a need to consider. With all the G8-stuff I have plus all the ->G8F-converters I dunno if I should invest in another G3F only.
I'm worried she may not be able to handle that horse!
Chloe doesn't appear in Daz Central either, I reinstalled it after trying the original beta, I hope they make Chloe available through DIM and manually... This is a disaster, never mind Covid etc we've been waiting for Chloe for MONTHS !

Everytime that Daz Central only issue has popped up, it has indicated a total download mess for all methods. Alert the mods in the Sales problem thread and better, submit a Customer Service report.
Chloe is the only character I don't have from her offerings at the other store, so I am considering her now. Realistic kids are hard to come by.

tween is a weird mix 10-13 ish, I believe.
I'm pretty damn confused 'cause at 13 I was happy to call myself a teen - you know, the clues in the age: thirTEEN.
We do have the ability to move characters from G3 to G8. She may be worth it.
Oh. That's... disappointing.
These days I would only still deliberately buy a G3 character if it were some weird and wonderful monster/alien morph or on the expectation that I would be able to transfer it to G8 (which has far more resources available, and better facial expressions). But If there's something about this morph that means that even the original artist was unable to do so satisfactorily, I'm very much surprised (I've transferred things that to my interpretation are more extreme morphs), but it's a considerable disincentive to pick her up.
The aspect ratio of the image used for the thumbnail in the shop is off.
honestly they are the same mesh and changing scene identification and baking rotations the clothes and hairs are interchangeable
they even share the same UV mapping
so I never understand why some find Genesis 3 so limiting compared to 8, unless doing poses undressed a child shouldn't be doing anyway
G3 and G8 are not the same mesh.
Facial expressions are the primary reason I've moved all of my "important" G3 characters to G8. G8 has a large number of HD expressions, and a very powerful PowerPose interface for all the facial controls.
Even with ostensibly similar morphs, it's just easier to get G8 characters not looking like their face is made out of plastic.

The fingernails/toenails on G3 are separate mesh islands, but are merged on G8.
I don't see the problem. G8 Clothes can be converted to G3 anyway. The G8 and G3 meshes are almost the same, but if the very minor differences (which most of you couldn't tell anyway) made Angelwings decide that the mesh just worked out better on G3 than it did on G8, then I fully support her and props for not staring herself blindly on the "G8 is newer so must be better in every aspect" fallacy.
G8 isn't better than G3 persay. There have been some complaints in the past about face morphs and expressions not being convenient to work with, and even causing undesirable effects. But, gladly, the two figures are similar enough that sharing assets like clothes has actually become a thing.
If I remember correctly, and it has been a long time, but didn't the shoulders bend better on G8 than G3?

Haha. True enough. If they're not under the clothes and bending correctly, then there would be an issue. Maybe I'm thinking of earlier: V4 and G1/2?
That model proves my point g3f base looks way more natural than big eye mutant hourglass g8.

This. I'm new enough that I've never used anything but g8, still bought this character to support AW because I stumbled onto her stuff on Rendo at some point and her textures are among the few for adults even, that I'm able to make look like a real person at all. I know it's my lack of knowledge about all the parameters involved with any store bought Figure's Surfaces, but I have bought soooooooooo many weird blue/grey/pink, mutant looking characters that just sit there collecting dust, I'll buy anything AW releases because there's no guess work at all. Hope she thrives here.
