Had to pass on this one, as I don't even have G3 installed anymore, let alone use that generation. Looking forward to subsiquent releases for the G8 line.

I am happy someone other started this thread :)

    I was instand dissapointed...

I ONLY use G8M, simply because: 1. G3M doesnt seem to work correct with G8 clothes (cant use good G8 on G3) AND, the Powerpose of G3 looks just old out of date and doesnt work good.... Posing G3 is horrible bad.

    ---

I am happy Angel wings made finally her way to the daz3d store! And I hope she will release her "old" products here too! because they arent anymore aviable at renderosity :( So I hope all her invested work will not be gone or only aviable for "third party downloads", I wanna buy them official :(

And PLEASE hell.... do it just for G8 >_< (and we need more cute boys! The store is full of girls! my only cute boy is so far Ceejay from 3duniverse).

She's sitting in my cart, but after yesterday's fun and games I scarcely dare buy anything. A couple of questions though, should AW be reading this thread: the fifth promo pic shows Chloe as a teen but there's no teen shown in the description (looks very nice too), and Chloe Mix? I'm not sure what that is.

Well, AW certainly goes her own way, doesn't she. How long has it been since there was a figure for G3 only? Weren't AW's other characters Growing-Up based? This one doesn't show it as a requirement.

Anyway, the character Chloe looks great, with really nice skin, and the promos are lovely. Here's to many more. But maybe G8 next time?

Another mystery: What is the adult character in the last promo? One doesn't often see non-included characters in character promos. Is that Chloe grown up?

She looks a lot like AW's last released character @ Rendo, Natasha. https://web.archive.org/web/20200411173439/https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/vendor/Angel_Wings

    https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/natasha-for-g3f-and-g8f/141556

If you use google, you can still load old products from her without the web achive, sadly can`t see her complete Store... :(

Well that seems to work :)

Yes indeed. And I just checked, and the download glitch appears to be fixed. She's now available for all download options.

  • I believe Chloe for G3 was Angel Wings’ first character released at Renderosity, so perhaps it is only fitting that Chloe is her first character rereleased at DAZ for her debut as a PA. I don’t know if this product is exactly the same as the original or if it has been updated in anyway, but I am glad that it is available to purchase once again. I had bought all of the most recent G8/G3 characters available at Rendo and was working on obtaining all of the older G3 based items as well when she closed her store. Hopefully, Angel Wings will bring her entire catalog to DAZ to sell with the items either as originally released or updated. This would allow buyers who may not have been aware of this seller and these wonderful products the opportunity to purchase them, and provide her with a revenue source while she works on her next amazing character which could be a G8 updated version of Chloe.

weird, @studio 3xl I dont see here Chloe:

    https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:P0t5Dh-XpFsJ:https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/?uid=767838+&cd=1&hl=de&ct=clnk&gl=de&client=firefox-b-d

The oldest is Zoey , wich sounds very similar, I have the feeling Chloe looks very close to Aster.

  • Loony, I think you are correct. I believe I had confused Chloe with Zoey since the names sound similar.

...I for one am both surprised and pleased to see a new character (and a child to teen one for that matter) for G3F as I primarily work with G3. On the wishlist for now until the download/install method is fixed because I have my own custom library/runtime setup.

I had separated the lights, the character and the hair and was going to balance them a bit differently, but yeah, it turned out not so bad. I wasn't playing super close attention to the rendering, because I'm playing the New World preview, otherwise I'd have noticed early on and restarted.

Amazing texture for G3. Victoria 7 never looked like this. Just what I was looking forward to. <3

This. I'm new enough that I've never used anything but g8,

I've been at this so long I remember the original Victoria.

Heck, I remember Poser 1, long before there was DAZ Studio, and DAZ was still called Zygote. There were, if memory serves, an artist's dummy, a vaguely human female character and male character, and a child. It was mainly for use as a drawing aid, and had no renderer to speak of. I think Victoria came out during the Poser 3 days, when the figures that came with Poser were christened by the users "Posette" and "Dork". (The male model was not the best, lol).

The very first Poser add-on program was something I wrote called "Morpher". That was so long ago I don't even know where the source is any more.

those still exist but are used in LIE or on geometry shells

  • I use both G3F and G8F and neither are better at posing for me. I still appreciate what they did with

G3F more than needing G8F, but I had to buy Gaodan's Ning over at Rendo when I saw her, and use

her a lot (even making a character out of her of my own). So There's always room for both. I've gone

and bought a lot lately, so I need to pass for the time being, but will look into Chloe later!

Has anyone run Chloe through morph transfer to G8F? If so, how are the joint deformations when posed? Could you post some pics? Thanks!

Congrats, I guess? With all that vast experience, any thoughts on the actual topic of this thread?

As far as for myself, like I said, I bought Chloe to support AW in the hopes that she'll make new g8 Textures eventually to add to my library of useable content, but as to the topic of this thread, from the perpective of someone who hasn't been around since the dawn of zygotes or whatever, I didn't expect I'd really use Chloe, but did try to load even just a basic g3F and it's pretty much unuseable without having been around to have ever purchased specifically g3 poses, morphs for even the most minor of tweaks, etc. Of course I have a small amount of wearables that were released with g3 and g8 bundled together, but it's still pretty much unusable compared to the massive amount of g8 content I apparently already take for granted...

I prefer g8 because the expressions and bends are better. G3 expressions look like a mask to me.

Answering my own question - it tranfers over fine. Identical to G3F in appearance and deformations.

What did you use? I tried Riversoft's G3F to G8F converter, only to discover it no longer works sad. (I tried launching the male version to see if it was just me, but that wouldn't launch either.)

I've still got v2 (I think) of the G3 -> G8 transfer script from this thread https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/176271/morphs-from-g3-to-g8/p70. Not sure if it's still available - but you might find a link if you scour the thread.

I never bothered with Riversoft's product but waited for X Transfer, which handled a character just fine when I tired yesterday; not got this one, but looking at the skin textures, they look both great and open to lots of alterations, so I may get.

No, it's not that one. I think I got one of the really early scripts. I had a quick look in that thread and the link appears to have been removed. Singular Blues has a link to a pdf in their sig which might help: https://www.dropbox.com/s/x2vcwnfu7w2wtj9/G8%20Morph%20TransfersR1.zip?dl=0

It was ages, when I have rendered Genesis 3 figures, but could not resist on this one.

From the left to right: Chloe Child, Sunny 7 with Chloe materials and Chloe Preteen

Used one of the light presets provided with the character.

Rendering Time: 5 minutes 11 seconds
