Cookie Dough product range? Is it an early version of Aiko, etc?

Littlefox's 'Toons are all cross-platform products, given that all of them use legacy i.e., non-weightmapped rigging.

The materials may need some tweeking in Studio for optimal performance. But unless something uses Poser procedural shaders, or Poser dynamic cloth, those also are still usable in Studio. All of these prodiucts predate Iray, but could probably be converted.

Cookie Dough iirc, was a morphing add-on product which increased content for Cookie's general usibility.

@JOdel I have a thought/question: if I were to use non-iray Cookie within a more recent/modern iray environment, how would the rendering work? Would I have to render the whole scene in 3DL? (I am assuming that non-iray means 3DL) Also, I do have a 3DL-Iray convertor product purchased a while ago but never yet used.

Not to worry. If you are rendering in Iray, Studio can (usually) convert 3DL surfaces to Iray on-the-fly (only during the render, nothing permanent). Some adjustments would be needed to start with, Poser products often seem a little shiny and glossy, like wet paint. You'll want to make an Iray material preset, or maybe a character preset, to use again later.

Thanks so much for the reassurance! I am, tonight, for the first time, venturing into Content Library > Poser Formats to discover and test out all my M4 wardrobe and items... I had purchased lots but never really gotten down to using or learning about them. I will never understand why some materials are found in >Pose while there is an actual >Materials subfolder but I will just chalk it all up to the prehistoric Poser mess. But my pleasure of working with M4 will more than compensate for these troubles!

If you like these, you may also want to give Lolo Hai a shot. You can find the figure and clothing for free at ShareCG.

Will check them out, thank you so much!

If you had a choice as a totally new collector of LittleFox's products, and based on most stuff being now at $1, would you go with Cookie or Star 1.0? For a female toon I am on the fence but for a male there's no other option but Chip.

There is a free morph for Star to turn her into a male figure:

I love Star! but I end up using Star 2.0 more often because she's compatible with other Genesis 3 poses, clothing, hair, etc. The stand alone "Star!" isn't and has to have her own poses and what not. Aeridis over at ShareCG made some clones for her though: https://www.sharecg.com/pf/full_uploads.php?pf_user_name=aeridis

There's one of G1, G2, Aiko 3, and Victoria 4 - so that Star! can wear clothing made for Genesis 1, Genesis 2, Aiko 3, and Victoria 4. Aeridis also made some nice face and body morphs for her as well.

The more recent ones like Star and the unicorn are weigh mapped (they include a poser and a DS version)

    That's historical.
Initially materials folder and material presets didn't exist at all in Poser. The first material presets were a clever hack of the pose presets, so they ended up in the Pose library.

Poser introduced the materials library in Poser 5, but it was only visible from the material room and their official preset format was more like a shader preset, so people kept using "material poses" which were more convenient.

These are really old renders but here's 1) the Aeridis Comet morph for Star! and wearing a Genesis outfit via the G1 clone; 2) Star! wearing an Aiko 3 outfit (there's some deformation in that one due to Star's extreme body style); 3) a V4 outfit; 4) a Genesis outfit (some parts parented rather than autofitted), and 5) a G2F outfit.

Also, Cookie and Chip have separate heads so you can use them on other figures -- you'd just have to use diffuse colors for skin or a toon skin shader product. This render was Cookie and Chip heads on Hiro 4 and Aiko 4 bodies.

You can also use Evil Innocence's free Cross Dresser program to convert clothing from another figure such as M4 or G4 to use on Cookie, Chip or other Lady Little Fox toon figure and vice versa.

The program only works on pre-Genesis stuff and while the program is free the licenses for individual figures are pay items.

The link is working for me; but you could also try a Google search for: x-dresser evil innocence

I rebooted my wifi and it worked. So one could download the Universal Clothing plug-in for free and purchase the Star license ($9.97) to convert M4/V4 clothes for use on Star. Interesting!

Yes, the good thing about Xdresser is that you only need a license for the figure you convert to and then can convert items from any supported figure.

If you want to convert V4 items to Star you can start with the free V4 clone listed above though.

Dawww! So cute! And I LOVE the idea of using the Cookie and Chip head on a stylized Genesis body. That way you can use the Genesis clothing and poses. I've got a cart full of Cookie and Chip stuff at the moment (about a hundred dollars worth... I MIGHT have a problem lol) but I wonder if I should trim that back a little and do the Head thing only and skip some of the outfits (still have a TON of toon hair in my cart along with some other fun RDNA stuff) - since I have so many great outfits and poses already for the Genesis figures PLUS a TON of morphs that I can stylize the bodies with. I think I might end up doing that head parenting thing. I did that a while back with Blue 2.0 and parented it's head to Genesis 8 Female and used my existing G8F morphs to get her body closer to Blue's shape. I worked pretty well, imo:

So I might try that with Cookie and Chip as well. :)

Your renders are great, by the way. :D Comet looks so dashing and the Star renders are so cute!
