Sadly I've been looking through trying to get the price down, but I just don't want and have zero use for most items. Whilst I can get the bundle and two extras for the same price as the three characters, I just don't need or have a burning want either for them now.

If I could have purchased any of the still new PA releases, I might have bitten, but actually doubt it.

I'll wait, will be on offer in a few weeks.

... As the saying goes: there is always another sale.

While I def see the Jubilee influence elsewhere my first thought with this promo

This is KatanaSukai. She's got my back. I would advise not getting killed by her. Her sword traps the souls of its victims.

also you geniuses have figured out the clothing any guesses on the hair yet?

  • It's a really cool bundle and I love the outfits! The boots aren't bad on their own but I'll swap them out for flatter ones

Maybe we'll get a male superhero bundle soon too?

The hair looks like the one that comes with Sae Character by Goanna.

Not a fan of the 'tween hero/heroine' anime look (or genre) - teens are super irritating and super foolish already without giving them super powers!

(and no, that is NOT just because I am 'old' - I thought that when I WAS a teen!!!)

I am definitely in the minority thinking superpowers are just lazy storytelling and writing cheeky

not against gifts, mutations and especially technology enhanced abilities, heck I even go for magic if totally freeing oneself from the restraints of science and doing fantasy, just the whole super thing seems a bit overused and convenient,

don't get me started on flying capes ...

It really depends on how it's used in the writing and how powerful the character is.  Batman, Iron Man and Green Arrow are fantastic characters because they're ultimately just humans who're obsessive enough to pyush themselves to extreme limits in order to reach a crazy goal.  Single power characters like The Flash and Ant Man can work well because they've got one trick that may or may not be useful in a given situation and are otherwise entirely mortal, so a well written story for that type should be built around situations where their power doesn't automatically solve the issue.  That said, I've never cared for the concept of Superman, not just because he can do everything better than anyone else, but also because he didn't even do a thing to get those powers, and I felt the same way about Thor until the Chris Hemsworth version finally found a humorous aspect of the character to explore.  The Hulk and the Thing, on the other hand, may be super strong and nearly invulnerable, but it came with a really crappy price tag, while the original Captain Marvel, aka Shazam, plays with the twist that he's just a kid in an adult's body.  There are a couple of writers who've recently series of novels that take the standard superhero tropes and try to work them into real, functional worlds, and some of the results are quite fascinating... I especially recommend Marion C. Harmon's WEARING THE CAPE series and Seanan McGuire's VELVETEEN collections.

As someone who discovered the Brothers Grimm before their stories were ruined by Disney and DC and Marvel comics in the late 50s and 60s while I was in elementary and junior high school, heroes and heroines were my escape from the reality of my life. This was the period of the Cuban Missile Crisis. I went to bed at night, worried if we would still be alive the next day and if the nukes hit Los Angeles, could I care for my baby sister long enough for my father to get back across the city, my mother from her work, my older sister and younger brother from their schools. It was decades later I found we were a first strike zone and would have been ash. I still have nightmares sixty years later.

Superheros saved my sanity. They allowed me to think I might be able to survive and defend my little sister. Did I have skills to fight? No. Hunt, fish, camp? No. But I was determined to live up to Marvel Girl, Supergirl, the Scarlett Witch, Nick Fury, Spiderman, ... I have boxes of comics from the 60s of the X-Men and others that I collected until I went into the military.

My son and I loved RoboTech in the 80s. And Star Wars. Princess Leia showed him that women could be heroes and strong.

Superpowers, magical powers, strength, skill are all things that a child can let them escape into when the real world is just too scary. It may seem ridiculous to adults, but it is easier on the body that drugs and booze.

Even though I may collect the older characters when they come out, I also collect the Thorne Core characters. Everyone needs 'happy' sometimes.

The lowest I could get the cost down to was $$56.33 for the bundle and 2 unwanted add-ons. That is a bit high especially during the PA sale and a little pricey for me.  I'm really on the fence with this one..Even with the $20 rebate that's $36 net cost.and I'm really disappointed with the very limited selection of add-ons as wellas some of the bundle items.

This has got to be the WORST selection of add-ons I have ever seen in a Pro Bundle. Only THREE items?

I'm not on the fence at all on this one.

Teen superhero? No, not even when I was a teen did I enjoy those characters.

Too high a price. $57 for bundle & two add ons (only I might like).

We're just at the START of the PA sale, so I think I'll save my money for something that excites me. It's bound to come soon enough!

I added the bundle and two of the add-on, plus I got a 20% off offer and used my PC+ coupon, got the price of the bundle down to $36.77. I will make another order for the PC+ items I want today.

Why do I want her? Well, I saw that promo and I immediately saw in my mind one of the characters in a story I edit. It sold me. The initial cost gave me pause, and my paws hit the floor, but then I played with the cart.

    Mary

As Howie MandeI would say deal or no deal? For you it's a deal.  Considering tomorrow, a $20.00 store credit will hit your account, the bundle is costing you $34 and change.

I think she looks fantastic, this is my first render with her. I ended up just getting the characters though. I used to buy every single pro bundle that came out before, I liked how everything was kind of random because I got a bunch of stuff to use that kind of worked together but didn't, and I've somehow found a way to at some point need something I got, but these extremely specific bundles I haven't bought a single one. But I do love the character a lot and can see myself using her a ton.

Aaaaand now I'm crying. This was moving and I couldn't agree more. Comics saved my sanity as well, any likely my life too. I had a pretty awful childhood - my mother's various different "partners" throughout my childhood and teen years where often abusive drunks who thought beating children with belts, fan cords, and wooden planks (not to mention backhanded across the face), and calling them all sorts of horrible names where acceptable forms of daily "discipline". I lived in constant fear and pain, physical and mental/emotional. My only "escape" was a big box of old comic books that someone had thrown away that we "rescued" from the dump. Many nights I sat alone in my room after a beating or being torn down by horrible words that no child should have to hear and escaped into the beautiful worlds inside those comics. I am sure those comics saved my life, because without them I have no doubt I wouldn't have been able to get through those years. I wouldn't have been able to cope with the pain and fear. Those times when I escaped into those comic book worlds where the only times I felt like I could breathe. Those stories and characters allowed me imagine something better than what I had always known, and they gave me hope. I owe my life to the people who created those amazing worlds and characters that were brought to life in those comics. And I will forever be grateful (particularly to Wendy and Richard Pini who created my very favorites of those comics).

  • Too young, too stylized. Not my cup of tea, I think I'll skip.

  • Thorne girl, superhero outfits that can work with the wrasslin stuff from before (including stuff that doesn't need to be dforced), gift certificate for a chunk coming back?

It's close enough to good for me, but I can see how it would annoy others.

I am more intrigued how a character who is described as "young" in her description can have shoulders. I thought young people did not possess shoulders in this world anymore, they were eliminated by science.

The bundle is pretty high priced, and contains a lot of filler content. How can there only be 3 add ons to choose from? And even worse, when there are only 3 add ons, why on earth would you force a deal to buy 2 of these 3 add ons? This is seriously bad. There is only one hair in the bundle, and it is a short hair that feels like it has been done before. And I like short hairs!

I wonder how well this will ultimately sell. Thorne girls are always super popular, but this deal blows. To get any sort of deal you have to buy 2 of the 3 add ons, there is little choice here, and any combo of the add ons just happens to be around the $20 you get back anyway. What is the point of that? LOL.

Oh, and some of these outfits would have suited the wrestling bundle.

There is also no starter bundle type offer here either. You either go big or go home. Not that start bundles were doing much anyway, I suppose, with all the focus of every deal being entirely on the pro bundles every time and ignoring start bundles existence. So I guess killing starter bundles is logical if they'll never make a deal around them. The add on offer should at least include yesterday's new releases, since there are so few add ons. That would maybe make this deal a little better. Starter size bundles need to get some freakin love from the marketing team. I do not think the go big or go home approach is sustainable long term. It is going to burn customers out.

What's really sad is I actually like this character. Her skin looks kind of nice, and being Asian, looking young is certainly not unusual.

It really is a cute style! I almost never have need for hair with bangs or even loose hair (most of my characters either have short hair or cause to wear it back/up), but I have it on my wishlist anyway because I feel like its day will come.

It's not impossible that the company has decided to see about eliminating the starter bundles. I have no idea how many people tended to buy them, rather than either going for the pro, buying only the base character, or just giving the whole thing a pass.

It will be a long time before they stop showing up in FastGrab, or as freebies attached to other promotions, though.

And for all I know they may try it for a couple of months and then decide; 'well, that didn't work', and go back to offering them.

wow the sukai super hero already ended????, was just one day sales?

  • It's not the first time there's been 1-day deals.

Since I got the Sukai bundle, I get another purple banner on this Villains bundle.

  • Don't think so. There will be probably combination offers for Sukai together with todays bundle. I have already a banner for the villain bundle as I purchased Sukai yesterday.

  • jakibluejakiblue Posts: 7,281

I got purple banner for the new Villain horde but I didn't buy Sukai yesterday. Just a discount for being a "genesis 8 pro bundle" buyer. I'm not interested in anything in the bundle tho - the sale page hasn't updated for me yet, but the products are in teh store.
