I thought that was a giant chicken leg for a moment....
Мaybe it was so?
I believe it might be Bada Yagas house standing there
I rendered a bulb
a more exciting one but took hours and hours for each set of 30 frames I looped
Baba Yaga in other words would be Grandmother Yaga
test on irradiance map + lighting cache, human skin
a 129 seconds render, no post work
a new clip after a while; 146 seconds/frame
Very cool! I'm glad you managed to walk the plank properly while holding a camera as to avoid setting off that deadly trap!
Very much how I make VFX clips to add to videos via post work. Get an idea for a needed effect, set it up in Carrara, render it, save it for further use.
yes, I saved them in my FX folder for reuse as textures etc
Very nice, magaremoto! Great speed test!
thx Dart, carrara has a good lighting cache mode to be effectively applied to animations and speed up renders.
Currently working on optimizing animations of foliage and greenery and avoid flickering and such
this shot took "only" 13 minutes with an octacore
Hi,
You will of course recognize "Secret Lake" by HowieFarkes.
It's a 4k resolution picture, so don't hesitate to zoom in.
It took 29 minutes to render it, with the depth of field. No postwork.
The render engine is octane (v4), working on two old (2015) Titan X graphic cards.
I made only a few minor adjustments to the original scene (shaders mostly), to make it work better with octane.
Dark Gothic GIS Orion
sadly is Poser material files so manually loaded the textures
oh and the preload tables all land on top of each other so I replicated one with 6 Predatron Lorez Mu Worker diners
yes Carrara native not Octane
LOL the lens flares take longer than the renders, I may not let it go 17 hours
I think my machine would be broken with this kind of task. How do you like Facegen?
I bought it off site and mine only does Genesis 1&2 but yes I like it
don't use it much though as real people I know don't like me doing renders of them
Occasionally use for a celebrity resemblence

OMG got an nil pointer error then this
Eeeeek, hope it's not Covid contagious !!
That is strange, I've never had a situation where the lens flares weren't nearly immediate. What is in the scene that is causing it to take that long?
14 lights with different lens flares for each one
Ok I don't think I've had more than 2, that might explain it...
yeah I posted this earlier which was horrendous to render
no need to embed it again
https://youtu.be/lOiidGMZSzs
( is looped many times BTW and overlaps duplicate png sequences in my editor, was very short)
That is a really innovative! Now I gotta try something like that lol.
There was a youtube video where a guy used the fog primitive in a particle sytem for smoke emmision and it looked great. I have to find that video again...
probably Cripeman
he got me started on the fountain primitive as a surface replicator source, I use it for many things instead of particles
and yes you untick visible on it
Found it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk39k6l0jB8
