While everybody considers Mars as the new frontier of space exploration, some Chocorabbit scientists discovered a new planet that, unlike the Red one, seems to show residual presence of cocoa!

If true, this would be evidence of the existence of life - present or past - on this mysterious "Chocoplanet".

Thus, the Chocorabbits are using their scientific and technological knowledge (I know, we all underestimate it, at first) to plan the daring expedition!

Will our heroes be able to bring back samples of Extra-Terrestrial chocolate?

    Happy Easter 2021!

I was thinking of doing a LoRenzo Ming but thought it may be too tricky .. hmmm

anyways, I posted my wacky Goofy to the Daz Gallery and now he's surrounded by a heap of female Genesis 8 images lol

There have been several great renders posted in this thread recently.  It probably isn't fair to single any of them out.  But to me, this one is extra-terrific.

    Well done, Stezza.

Carrara is ebarrasing really, but thanks @UnifiedBrain smiley

where it takes other software hours to days to render something like this I have to admit it was just a test render with Howie's set and took all of about 3 minutes to render.. the whole scene was done and dusted in less than 10 minutes .... embarassing hey... just like my spelling laugh

    Carrara ROCKS!

the leafs by his feet really nice touch.

    still playing with hdr.

this is default shaders.  came into carrara sweet n easy.  very nice indeed, after the pain and suffering of trying to import the rotohead attack V.

playing with the pioneer kitchen.  there is geometry around the stove doors,
conceivably, could, mebbe, make the doors open

putted some native shaders on the stove.

  • Hi all,

I have been using Carrara for over 15 years, starting with Carrara 3D Basics. It is still a good render engine and a great animation tool. So, here are some of my abstract art images. Or maybe they are still life? Or maybe both?

    Kind regards,

    Håkan

i dont understand what happened.  the pixels around the bright light are jumpy.  and the leafs.  its like pixelie grainy

is it caused by the mip maps thing?

cant we change the default from the mips to the sampling?

quick animation to test realistic lighting mostly (w.i.p.):

    pros: very fast native render, easy camera set up, great assemble room for handling huge objects, works like a charm in a network, fully usable even in old machines, good lighting cache and irradiance mapping;

cons: slight flickering here and there at 3840x2160 res; 2 annoying bugs: GI light through transp and IL mode crash randomly carrara (well known IMO), sun and cloudy or distance fog working together get a subtle shadow following the camera; daz contents Carrara native shaders need to be tweaked to be more responsive to sky light, IL and ambient light wash out AO

That's from too low a setting in Object Accuracy. To get twinkles and jitters gone, we must set that to .5

One thing that I've discovered about occassional flickering - we can scroll through and find the problem frame and render it again to repair the flicker. I find this to be very worthwhile!

thank you so much!!  never would've guessed to try that setting.
