What would keep PAs to make new characters for Kjaer 8? I mean, there's quite a few Generation 8 Core Figures that didn't exactly got tons for figures made for them after the initial release.

my point exactly. kjaer 8 is a memory and so now will be most base figures.

The one thing that's surprised me recently about this generation is that one "base" that seems to have post-release-day characters, apart from Victoria and Michael, is ... Nida 8.

I mean,it's not a lot -- three (Daisy and Friends, Jean, Mama T) -- but it's more than most of the other G8 bases got. It seems sort of odd that a late-middle-aged black woman sparked interest where nobody else seems to have done.

It is possible that Nida had old style pro bundles characters ready to go when the switch to no core character genetics was made. Perhaps that is why.

Not *quite* apples and oranges. G1 and G2 were infested with those individual UV maps for *every named core character*, and the add-ons in the bundles pretty much universally used those UV maps. Never mind that hardly any other PA character used anything but Mike of Vicky's UVs, if they didn't use the base UV, if you wanted to use any character that had shipped in a bundle at all, you needed the base. Since the number of additional core characters started ramping up in the G2 era, this was getting really offensive.

I don't recall whether they scrapped that paradigm right at the start of G3 or if they abandoned it later. But it wasn't much later if it wasn't right from the start. I for one am grateful.

The different UVs for every named core character was dropped with Genesis 8, most of the Genesis 3 based figures still had unique UVs which made using grafts annoying when you had to use either the Base UVs or wait for Graft creators to update the Grafts to use different UVs.

Yeah, I believe all the "Official 7" characters had unique UVs. Thankfully there are these two awesome products by Redzstudio that allow G8 to use those textures:

Nida had an actual pro bundle release, though; she came out in February 2020, and pro bundles disappeared in August 2020 -- Honni 8 had the last one we've seen so far. Nida's release had three characters in her bundle, and two add-on characters outside it, and now three others after.(There have been seven name-and-number characters, and at least 12 name-and-number character bundles, released in the two months since Honni's release. Which is ... a lot. Doesn't include oddball bundles like the Spooky one, or the Steampunk one.)

I am curious what the changes in the pro bundles signifies if anything. It would be cool if the store owners would share their thoughts on the changes in the bundle structures. It is clear to me, that the old style bundle is no more. What is the new style bundle? A two day extended release with a bigger variety of items? Thats what I see so far.

They're probably just trying something new to see if the new themed bundles bring in more sales.  If they don't, we'll probably be seeing the old style bundles, or some other configuration entirely.

There've been a lot of folks complaining about the quality of stuff in some pro bundles, so maybe they decided to mix things up.

I remember Kjaer 8's skin though.

I haven't bought Tasha - it doesn't say if cut to cheek can be removed and no mention of anatomical mats - apart from that, texture looks good, but there are already so many characters that I can get picky about features I don't like.
(if anybody can say if texture includes anatomical elements and if cut to cheek is optional, please reply at your convenience).

Incidentally, here are the core DAZ Characters for Genesis 8...

This is the official list. Genesis 3. Genesis 2.

Tara has an option for no cheek cut. Don't know about anatomical elements; not at Daz machine.

Tara 8 does not contain Anatomical elements materials, I just checked.

indeed, but that separates her from "traditional" core characters that are meant to be human adults

Underbelly doesn't have anatomical elements, either. I suspect -- assuming they keep buying character designs from Artstation artists like they did for Tara and Underbelly -- any characters developed that way will continue not to have genital textures. They'll also probably keep getting initially released with notable issues that get corrected after release. (Tara didn't get a scar-free texture until she was updated; Underbelly didn't get a tattoo-free version or material presets for all of his hairpieces until he got updated.)
