Figure resembling Jesus?

I know this is totally subjective, but my nephew wants a painting of Jesus based on the image attached, and I am trying to find a figure in the vast DAZ shop of figures that looks like this.

I use DAZ for my painting reference (much better than using the old school wooden doll that artist used years ago, LOL) and I have about two dozen male figures but none of them really look like the image of Jesus in this artwork. 

I'm not going to copy the artwork shown, just the basic pose, to create something totally unique.

If you know of a figure that might match this, please let me know so that I can purchase it. Maybe a matching hairstyle as well and robes?

I don't think DAZ has a crown of thorns, but that sure would also be good to have.

It even has a crown of thorns. It's for older figures but should work fine on Genesis figures if you position it and parent it to the head while the figure is in zero pose.

They probably would have looked similar. Since ya know, middle eastern men born to middle eastern parents. So.....

Thank you! There is so much stuff for M4/V4 that you cannot find anywhere else. I guess that was a really important and long-running figure release at the time.

That was generated by a Dutch artist Bas Uterwijk and I quite like it. It was a big thing a bit earlier this year.

If you have the DAZ O G8M head morphs, you can try to mix your own approximation of the likeness you want with the character head shapes you have and give him a midtone skin.

I wish I could figure out which G8M male figure is used in the Yusseff promo.

I'm more inclined to buy something ready-made. :)

That figure looks very much like it just has base male perhaps a different skin applied and a squint. The eyes are large kinda like base male.

I think you are right.

I looked through all the models for G8 on DAZ and only these two stood out... but I will try adding Yusseff hair to the models I currently own before making a purchase. Something will work I'm sure.

Looks pretty white & western to my eyes. That image is as much of a guess as anybody else's too that didn't personally know the man.

Wow, this one is great. They are only eastern to people speaking about them that live further west then they to and they are talking about a geographic area to classify them as much as anything else and not so much about their actual appearance which like everywhere else is quite varied and genetically diverse. Clones, well the world has very few twins. Well over 1/2 the world's population live to the south or east of them and consider them white and western.

I went through my library of characters for skin tones and possible shapes if you dial something in and came up with:

If you have grunge shaders or something that will show dirt on clothes or tears don't forget that. Washing of body, hair, and clothes would have been an onerous process in a primitive society. Add in a desert with scarce water, and it would be very hard. And clothes are not easy to come by. I agree the Desert Robes for G8M are the best actually.

People in a region 2000 years ago are not necessarily the same as the people in a region today.

It's Canaanite, Philistinian, Phoenician, Israelite. Pieces of Hellenistic, Babylonian, etc.  Arabs? Modern Jews? Didn't exist, although maybe you can pick more conservative Jewish sects for "pure" bloodline (whatever that means).

You can interpret who Jesus was (or may have been, whatever you believe) using ArtBreeder and modern photographs, but that is not necessarily going to tell you what was in the place 2000 years ago. Do we know what a Canaanite is anymore? Selecting 10 photos of modern Jews and Arabs in the region of Bethlehem (for the AI/GAN) isn't any more truth-y than White Jeebus, IMO.

Pick the image that inspires you, in any case.

I totally agree with you. 

But I am basing this painting on an image of Jesus that my nephew really loves. So I'm going to try and match the look of that image. 

I guess we will never really know what Jesus looked like. Too bad no one made a portrait of him when he lived. Although I guess people were not painting back then? And no drawings survive? Just writing on tablets. Are most images of Jesus based on the Shroud of Turin?
