That's from Connect. Double-clicking on a product icon in Smart Content will install it that way, or a right-click -> install, even if it has already been installed with DIM or Central. It is not the same. If you do not want to use Connect, there is no reason to log in to DAZ from Studio. That way you can't accidentally install with Connect, because you won't be connected.

So, are those the only folders in the cloud folder? Genesis 8 Starter Essentials would be 1_42071, if it is in there at all. If so, go back to Studio and Smart Content to uninstall it. If it is still installed in the "regular" library, it will fall back to that version.

    ---

If not in the data\cloud folder, maybe one of those other DAZ Studio Format libraries has something in it. Of the three, which one do you use to install? You can only use one at a time, you need to set options to change the destination folder for installations. Studio sees all three libraries, so if there is something in one of the other two, it might be the source of the problem.

  • I uninstalled everything I found inside smart content tab, it hasnt helped the issue with G8F though. as for instal programs, I use Daz Central most of the time but have used install manager a couple times in the past.

Okay, DIM and Central can cooperate. Which folder are you using for installation? In your Content Directory Manager, you have three libraries:

    C:\Users\(name)\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library
C:\Users\Public\Documents\\My DAZ 3D Library (<- default installation folder for DIM)
    C:\DAZ 3D\Applications\data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library

Into which one is your content installed from DIM, and which one from DAZ Central? You can find that in DIM from the Basic Settings -> Content Base Path, or Advanced Settings -> Installation -> Content Path Shortcuts -> whatever is selected in the list. I don't know Central, but there must be some settings somewhere.

    Good morning :)

    Ok, three possible locations and at least two "BaseJointCorrectives.dsf" files, should be quite easy to check the three locations and rename the files that are found in;

    C:\Users\(name)\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\DAZ 3D\Base\
    C:\Users\Public\Documents\\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\DAZ 3D\Base\
    C:\DAZ 3D\Applications\data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\DAZ 3D\Base\

In which locations do you find the file "BaseJointCorrectives.dsf"?

  • @PerttiA......the file is only found in the directory : C:\DAZ 3D\Applications\data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\DAZ 3D\Base\

@NorthOf45.......DIM sends files to  C:\DAZ 3D\Applications\data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library and DazCentral says that DIM controls its base install location.

Running almost out of ideas... Have you by any chance used any conversion utilities that copies a character (and their morphs) from older generation to G8F character?

Just to make sure, go to "C:\Users\" and do a search for "BaseJointCorrectives" - How many do you find (the same name is used on other figures as well) and does anyone of them have any connection to G8 female (path)?

  • I havent used any of those and my search shows nothing. almost ready to uninstall the software and reinstall. just afraid of losing files created over time.

Uninstalling the software will not help, the problem is not with the software (DS) but with the installed content.

I do have one idea, but can't test it at work without DS.

You could still search for "BaseJointCorrectives" in C:\DAZ 3D\Applications\data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D, as there has to be more than one in your libraries.

    Uninstalled how?

  • ok, i looked and discovered the file "BaseJointCorrectives" for G8Male and for some reason a Morph that I had created has it also. Should I delete the morph? or move the whole folder for it to another area not accessable to Daz?

I think you found the problem. Move that folder somewhere where DS can't see it, start DS, clear the log and load the "Genesis 8 Female Base figure" into an empty scene - What does the log say?

  • I did that and G8F loads up now!! the logs have 10 warnings for not finding "BaseJointCorrectives" as well as a few others for a character called Jenni I purchased a couple weeks ago.

  • PerttiAPerttiA Posts: 10,024

Ok, if you haven't done it already, rename the correct "BaseJointCorrectives.dsf" in "C:\DAZ 3D\Applications\data\DAZ 3D\My DAZ 3D Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\DAZ 3D\Base\" back to it's real name and the ten warnings should go away.

If they don't, attach the log to your post ("Attach a file" above "post comment" button)

  • they are all gone. only warnings are for expression morphs...but thats maybe another issue altogether. appears that G8f problem is solved!! thank you so much!!!
