Yay, RRRR is back! Back to renders is right - I haven't rendered anything in ages. Congrats Kyoto Kid on the job!

Pull #1 (hey, isn't it about time Daz built a 'show a random item' into the Product Library?)

    Dystopia City Blocks 011-020 (LWO)
    Parkside Freight
    Adarian
    Secret Lake Seasons

Hmmm, a Carrara render, this'll be interesting....

...I have just about every one of Howie's sets, however, until I get better (eg more "comfortable") with Carrara, I pick from a separate random list that has no Carrara content in it..

Bryce content on the other hand is fair game as I do have more experience with it (and you have to set up all your characters in Daz first).

    Title: Small Sacrifices
    RECYCLE

Look, I understand that you're upset. I know you wanted to get revenge on the barbarian hordes. I have no idea why the summoning went wrong. The sheep is certainly big enough... wait. Are these arrows? You're a shepherdess. Why would you shoot the sheep first? Where's the blood? If this thing's freshly dead, it should be bleeding all over. Its guts are missing too! ...Did you steal this from the barbarian temple? You did, didn't you. You sacrificed a USED sheep! I give up. You're on your own. Have fun taking on a whole army with your pico-demon.

luci45 #2: Another great image, and one that looks very natural. Great way to use the martial arts weapons.

Dievans: Heh. I have so many freebies from ShareCG and other sites that my product library list doesn't accurately reflect my full content list. I just keep track in a text file; took a while to assemble it, but it works. 1962 items and growing!

    Speaking of which...

    Pull #2:

    Victoria 3.0 Ultra Catsuit
    Groundhog CP
    Safari Furniture
    J. Buckley

    A.M.S. RT-05

Was it you who bug reported the AMS RT-05? Came a fix for it today.

Nope, not I. I have noticed that the update did not handle metadata correctly. The DIM does not show a check mark for having metadata, although there are metadata files in the installed package. The scene identification is incorrectly set, so that the material file does not show up in smart content when the mech is selected.

    Alright, on to Round 2!

    The pull:
    1845 - Garden Pavilion
    662 - Early Spring Outfit for Genesis 2 Female(s)
    1372 - DMs Druid Valley
    334 - Robot Titan

Hmm..., another mech. This could get weird.... (Hope springs eternal, anyway!)

Okay, it was something of a reach, but I decided to use the garden Pavilion as a sort of "headquarters".

    Also used:
    Michael 4
Dynamic Angelic Robe for M4 (Purchased expressly for this render; are you paying attention, DAZ?)
    Jael Hair
Monk Robes for M4 (The sandals)
    Lucifuge's Grave
    Versatile Terrain
    Potting Shed and Tools
    Happy Camper Essentials
    Mountain Rite (the skydome)
    FW Dan Megapack
    Micah Hair
    Adventurer's Jacket for Genesis 2 Male(s)
Day by Day for Genesis 2 Male(s)

Title: How Stonehenge Was Really Built -- The Shocking Truth Revealed!
    (Exclusive to the National Enquirer)

Last week, at an archaeological dig site near Salisbury, England, a research team led by Englebrecht Humpingdung, Professor of
Cultural Paleontology at the University of Texas at Austin, made a startling discovery.

"We always knew," the esteemed professor said in a press conference to announce the finding, "in fact, it only stands to reason,
that they had to have had some way to man-handle those big-ass rocks, but we never imagined anything like this!"

The local Druid community had no comment.

Lots of good stuff here, the contest will be another tough call.

Thanks Ken OBanion, with How Stonehenge Was Really Built—The Shocking Truth Revealed!
Now I'm in the mood to watch Tony Robinson and the crew dig up peoples gardens, yards, and designer lawns.

Hello, yes were outside your south wing, just outside your bedroom window. We would like to dig up a fifty meter long excavation trench around that side of the manner... including a swath across your driveway entrance, lol.

obanion #02: I like it. Ancient Aliens? Nah. Utter bunk. Ancient Androids, on the other hand... And using the pavillion as an HQ was an inspired decision.

Totte #03: When my family moved into our current house, we actually did cut down a tree in order to get things into one of the rooms through a back door. It was dying anyway, though, so it's not like it was a callous decision. But it made this image feel familiar. And thanks for the comment on my image.

Stepping back for a moment from my "creative process" to offer a brief observation with respect to the Divinity Skies Rapture:

Holy crap, Jack, what the hell were you thinking!?

(I practically gouged a rut in my desktop, dragging the mouse to pan to the top of the damn thing! And speaking of the mouse, I think I wore the skid-pads off the bottom of it!)

Now, don't get me wrong, it's a seriously cool piece of work, beautifully crafted, and I can see a lot of possible uses for it. But....

    Jeez-o-Pete, that sucker's big!

7913 TWPD Nerida (P3Design, Thorne), RR
    265 Alichino Wings (Prae), DNA

Really??? Wings, giant bird cage, and "perching places".... Guess there's a theme here, at least. And this is the THIRD RRRR I've pulled a cage in! (Karibou Stole Christmas, Unexpected Trip, and now this.) How many cages do I have in my libraries? And what does that say about me? (Don't answer that...)

obanion#01 -- Nah, not lame at all! And, you know, at least they're both very well dressed! Excellent use of the moldy-oldies! (Like how the ivy and the table cloths match -- very classy!)

luci45#2 -- I'm not sure about the little girl, but those have GOT to be the happiest seals I've ever seen! They're smiling, fer crying out loud! (You sure you didn't use the "Emotions" poses on THEM? It's also a gorgeous piece from a technical perspective!

MorganRLewis #1 -- Wow, LOL! A recycled sacrificial sheep! Resulting in a pico-demon! (Yay for tiny metric prefixes!) I knew the sheep/demon combination was going to be good, but I could not POSSIBLY have predicted the outcome of that pull. Excellent!

    obanion#02
-- HA! I always knew there had to be robots involved. The local Druid community has a lot of explaining to do... Great expressions on everyone, too, btw!

    Totte#3
-- That must be ONE GIANT TV! And those cement-grown trees are always a real pain to clear. (Can he come clear the dying tree in my back yard next? And can I borrow his TV?)

You guys have raised the bar pretty high...!

Thanks! Without your recycling minicontest, I don't know what I would have come up with, but the idea of a recycled sheep was just too funny to pass up.

Love the composition on your first image; I've been a fan of art that "breaks the fourth wall" ever since seeing Escher's hands-drawing-hand picture.

And I think everybody winds up with a few cages, somehow. I've got a few. Can't remember buying a one. I think at least two of them came from the old Daz freebie archive.

Okay, I've decided August is going to be the month of me jumping in and trying these contests, instead of just lurking around the forums and trying to pick up tips. :) The Psychic Science randomizer has decreed I shall use the following:

    Vapor Pens and Hookah
    Michael 4 Skeleton
    Diner Food 1
    Awesome Fantasy Eyes

I think being a noob might give me a slight advantage here, as I don't have a lot of the older models that might be harder to fit into a render. :) I already have some ideas how to make that combo hilarious... or at least worth a good chuckle. The bar is set pretty high already, and the contest has just started... :)

Welcome!! Glad you decided to play! And with a pull that includes a hookah, diner food, and a skeleton, I'd say you're off to a crazy start, even if your runtimes aren't brimming with old content, lol. (I think I enjoy this contest because I'd otherwise never use the old stuff!)

Anyway, not sure if you're interested in winning Poser 10, but there's a mini-contest going on now with the prize being a copy of it. (You can see the details here.)

And don't forget to post your finished images to the entries only thread. This is where Totte gathers the voting info at the end of the month. If your picture doesn't end up there, it won't get judged.

    Again, Welcome!

Probably seems like forever since I did the pull, so here is a reminder. Diomede #1

Millenium Beard, Rei for Aiko 3, M4 Business Suit, Angeluz Armor.

I also used the M3 CIS clothes, A3 AOL panties, A3 CF Blouse, and M4 Timeless hair.

In the not-to-distant future, the Angeluz take over the world with an army of bureaucrats -that is, unless the generation 3 people can cut the red tape.
