I tried a term for a birth canal and got 8 results with vana in them
dunno how it came to that conclusion
a male appendage gave me 38 results at least were all pants... try searching when you use Queens English, it gets even more buggered.
...I did and I only got one that was mostly Starter and Pro Bundles (120 items per page).
A search for "Spock" turned up two pages of sci fi stuff so sort of appropriate.
Looking for "Mr. Goodbar" turned up nothing. Sort of expected that.
Daz needs to turn off the DEFAULT HIDE ITEMS I OWN on searches. That would be a big help, though it would only decrease and not eliminate the search fubarity.
That's a good idea!
I do not posses that item. When I search for it I get ONLY that one item in the search, get get taken from the search page to the actual product page. Yes, I do see the search page. The automatic forwarding seems to be a function when only a single search result is found.
You haven't looked at the items. They were made by the PA Age of Armour. That's why they were found.
Your screenshot clearly shows you performed the search on a mobile browser. Turn off autocorrect on the device.
Searching for "Armor" in Firefox on the PC gets me exactly the results I expect.
The loading animation is generated BEFORE the search function is completed and the search results are inserted into the page.
Searching for "holt" in Firefox on the PC gets me exactly the results I expect.
Your screenshot also clearly shaows that the site bugged out during the search and did not complete it successfully.
The search finds 353 items when I perform it here (or 356 when it is tild to include items I own already).
No problem here. Try on a different device or turn your autocorrect off.
Yes. If you just browser the store casually you will see that most products cover completely different topics and not sorcery.
Incidentally, searching for "magic" brings up 136 items. So maybe you should try searching for different terms and not expect DAZ3D and PAs not to conform to your word choice expectations.
Party Decorations - THAT'S Why it finds those two.
The search is working just fine. It searches the name of the product and the artist name. In the product name it does partial matches, in the artist name it doesn't and needs the whole name. It doesn't have tags or metadata and it doesn't look at the pictures and says "that looks art deco". If it's not in the name of the product it is not art deco as far as the search is concerned.
People, use search on posercontent.com as a temporary solution. If you don't like Search Results here...
Only on Daz. That wide (too wide) sci-fi relation to spock has results but you can search for "Bike"and still not get all "hove"or xxxxbike in the store not even relate to the terms like motorcycle.
No, but a search for "42" takes me a lot closer to the truth.
If I were Daz Productions Inc., and my revenue came from broker fees for items sold in my store, I would want people looking for 3D content sold in my store using the search engine my store provides. I would not want people looking for Daz products using anything but my search engine, because other search engines may take my customers places I don't want them to go to find items sold in my store.
Posercontent does not list warez sites, it is an affiliate search site run by Littlefox but it does link to Renderosity, HW3D etc too
I have had it in my own bookmarks for years
Me too, Sevrin. But you will return to daz3d.com anyway from site I mentioned.
When people think of searching, they think of using the search engine they use to search for everything else. Point is that Daz is being its own worst enemy by not providing the very best search engine possible for products sold in the Daz store. Right now, the Daz store search engine is just about the worst option if you want to find anything here.
.yeah I got the same result as well.
Searching for "Vogon" turned up a page with "vogue" items and a couple character bundles.
Entering "whale" though actually turned up whale content.
I type "Dinosaur" and get only 8 results... and not a T-Rex among them!
I have given up trying to use the store search function. The last time I searched for some Sci-Fi content and got medieval suits of armor, It's not worth the aggravation.
is like a lucky dip
Loving the "meaning of life" "42" and related posts above!
But sadly, the 'Search Forums' function seems to be going AWOL as well.
*grabs towel, leaves house, goes to pub*
Use google:
site:www.daz3d.com/forums/
and
"Word you are searching for"
The forum search was always bad ...
One way to get around Search Store refusing to show you items that you already own is to do your search in an incognito window.
It shouldn't be necessary to resort to workarounds, but this is where we are.
Still using google to search the store because Daz hasn't updated the store search to do text searches of product pages. Also, the targeted result of an exact name search often appears low in a list of unrelated items.
Or how about Brooklynese?
