With yet another overcomplicated punch-based reward system, plus the savings on a single item being no better than a standard intro sale, plus once again making exceptions to your usually excellent return policy, you're making it very easy for me not to buy things in this sale.
In fact, you've even inspired me to look at a couple of other content sites that I haven't visited in months.

It's only day one, but I too was disappointed to see the sale conditions.
Unless the PA's do something that really tempts me, the only things I see myself buying this month is Zigraphix's upcoming Aiko 3 Morphs & Maps for Genesis and the Mei Lin 6 Pro Bundle (assuming it will come out this month).
So, I'm not bothered by it either way. :)

Like every day: Buy 1 get 30% off, buy 2 get 40% off, buy 3 get 50%.
And earning punches makes it the >Biggest PA Sale of the Year<? Really? :-)

I was hoping for a straight 50% sale for older items to clear out my wishlist again, instead sale conditions for non PC+ members look just like any other daily sale from the last months - throwing in stupid 'punches' rules once more. No, thanks.
Unfortunately I don't remember last years conditions exactly, but it feels like PC+ members do not get better discounts than before, more like all the others get worse ones to make PC+ look better. But maybe I'm wrong.

I have purchased some items yesterday but I will not buy anything today for exactly the same reasons that have been explained before and also because very few items are Poser compatible. I will meanwhile say that this lack of Poser support is just an observation and IN NO WAY an attempt at starting a polemic about that... :)
I just see that very few items released today are Poser compatible. Thus less chance for me to get enough punches to receive a better discount on other things since I will not buy what I will be unable to use correctly in Poser.
I am a PC member and I do not intend to become a PC+ member until the end of my PC membership in April 2015 because why would I want to pay more for PC items when a majority of new PA releases are not compatible with my favourite program?
This year's PA festival must not be for me but I think that I will survive it... ;)
I'm just ignoring the punches and buying things I would ordinarily get because I can use them. I don't mind the return policy being denied on the punch item, because it would just be too overwhelming for DAZ to handle- very complicated to undo it. But wasnt there a way to opt out of that during the Snowball sale and other punch sales? Did I miss it- I haven't seen that option but I haven't been on the threads much.
I want to say that, while I never participated in the punchable sales, I got one punch today! On the second day, guys!!!

Who's Mei Lin? Is that a counterpart to Lee or what? A3 Morphs and Maps for Gen2F - this product is going to be a hit and likely, I'll scrape up the funds immediately. Provided I don't transfer A3 and my favourite characters for her via GenX2 before it hits the shop.
The last sale with 'punches' earned me quite a few, but for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how they were meant to be used at the end of it. Didn't auto-discount things for me, that was for certain.
I believe the small print explains that each Monday is when your punch reward becomes active. In other words, you earn the punches this week, then next Monday, they should activate when you log in. There will probably be some kind of bar/graphic at the top showing you your punches.
If you don't care about the punches or the rest of it and don't want to lose the standard DAZ return benefit, submit a ticket asking to opt out of the punches. We've done this several times already and will continue to opt out those promos with small print no return clauses.

Yeah, I remember that part. Lots about how I qualified for X number of them. Just wasn't anything on how to use them. Rather mystified me, but I needed the stuff which earned them, anyway, so... :)

Couldn't agree more. I log in and see the banner with the word "punch" in it and just move on. I have no time or inclination to play this game, just give me normal sales and i am good.
Have to agree.... these are becoming less and less of events and more like a ply to increase sales regardless of impact on customer base.
And if you are a long time customer (since 2005 according to my order history), there's no real incentive to remain loyal.

But yeah, I've been avoiding the punch sales. It's like the complicated games in Vegas; frustrating if it takes training for me to understand them. And seriously, why would I bother with anything outside of Blackjack or Roulette when those tables are the most fun anyway!
This time around I am ignoring the whole "punch" thing. The extra discount (PC+ member) is of course helpful in that if I see something I would actually use, it gets purchased rather than going on my wish list against a future sale. Other than that, I am not playing the game. If in the process of this, I get "punches" that actually accumulate a larger discount on an item I would actually purchase, thats an added bonus.

Doesn't bother me as I have returned very few things in two years. But yes, that's what it says- includes both the items bought and the items gotten with the punches.
I have indeed begun shopping at other stores. Their sales have actually had prices I could afford. It used to be that they were not in my price range. Now Daz, sadly, appears to be moving into that category.
I have to laugh thinking about how drugs began being given away freely in the 60's to get people hooked and then they began having to pay and now prices are even higher.

Well, Dell Precision T5500's are coming off lease, and I picked one up - 2 quad core Xeons. Stuck 72 gigs of ram in the thing, with a pair of EVGA's SLI video cards I had on my old box. Spent a total of $1000 on the project. Sooo... the sale was going to have to be pretty spectacular to get me interested since my wallet was rather depleted this month. And we end up with one of those "Keep buying or you don't get discounts" sales. *shrug* Wonder if there is going to be a PC sale next month, or if they just kinda sorta combined the two. Fortunately it was the wrong type of sale for me this month, it made it easy for me to opt out.
Yes, there will be a PC Anniversary sale as per usual.
As a side note, I used to have a T7500 I think it was, but they were built like tanks and worked like a charm, so you're set :)
Mei Lin is indeed a new upcoming G2F icon. The speculative consensus is that she will be Lee's partner, something far more ethnically realistic than Aiko. :)
Interesting, considering a number of characters for Aiko are attempting/will attempt to make her more realistic.

That's what I said over in the PC Members forum. I honestly think characters like Lotus and Lin are very realistic-looking, even with A6's toony base in the formula. But most of us think that Mei Lin will differ A6 more in genre-execution rather than appearance distinction.

Kind of surprised that there haven't been more characters in the opposite direction, actually. Especially for the excellent Girl 6, who could make for some amazing new cartoonish looks. She's literally Pixar quality!

Actually, I'm kind of hoping 3DUniverse is going to have another girl this PA sale. Their characters are heavy on the cartoon, but amazingly wonderful quality. For whatever reason I didn't like Eclypse as much as Kimberly. (Similarly I liked Jasmin more than Jazlyn, but Amy was really popular with my eldest boy.)Anyway, Eclypse came out in April, so I think 3DU is due for another any time now. :)
