This one, about an array that can't be accessed... Never seen before on 4.12.0.86.
There's a 4.16 version of DS in DIM dated 11/19/21. The announcements link sends me to this thread. Is this the version that breaks add-ons? Is everyone finding it safe to install?
No, it's not the version which breaks add-ons. That will be DS 5.x
Thanks @Leana!
for weeks they have been writing in the DAZ
DAZ Studio 4.16.0.3 is now available for download.
For more information, visit the announcement thread.
but if you click on announcement thread
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/463971/daz-studio-4-15-pro-general-release/p1
it shows there that there is only 4.15.0.3
which I already have
so the supposed update seems to be completely wrong
and am I the only one who always writes them the mistakes?

wenn man dann aber auf announcement thread klickt
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/463971/daz-studio-4-15-pro-general-release/p1
zeigt es dort an das es nur 4.15.0.3 gibt
die ich ja zudem schon habe
also scheint das vermeintliche Update völlig falsch zu sein
4.16.0.3 is the current version, the thread (or link) needs updating.
Thank you to Leana and the moderator(s) who pointed me to this thread.
There are wayyy too many posts already - has anyone mentioned Daz 4.16.03 crashing when rendering if the Caustic Sampler is turned on? It happens to me almost every time.
The caustic sampler is going to go away soon, but as far as I am aware it should still be working normally with the version of Iray in 4.16.0.3. Do you have a sample scene to trigger this? I just tried with a simple primitive in the scene and didn't have an issue.
I've lost my toolbar of icons in 4.16.03, and I can't get it back. I've tried changing the workspace and style, nothing I do will bring back the toolbar of icons in 4.16, even though I can see them all in 4.12.0.86 (see pics).
I've also tried this in the 4.15 beta as well. But I can't get that tool bar to show up in any version of Daz Studio except for 4.12.0.86. Did Daz competely remove that toolbar from later versions of studio?
It certainly shouldn't be necessary, but try going to Window>Customise, then in the Activities tab on the right expand the one you are using (by the look of it the only one), then Toolbars, and right-click on the toolbars to select the activate option. Does that help? Toolbars are certainly present for me in this version.
ok that helped, yes the toolbar was turned off for some reason. thanks Richard.
also, I see what happened now. In 4.12.0.86 I had 3 toolbars, one of them called "main" is the one I use in 4.12. But that doesn't seem to exist at all in 4.16, which is why it wouldn't show up. By default all i have is the "tools" toolbar in 4.16. I don't remember if I made a custom toolbar called "main" at some point years ago. In any case the problem is fixed, I've lost a few things, but at least I can tinker around with it and fix it now.
I do have a Main toolbar in both the General Release and the Public Build, so I don't know why you wouldn't. They are not separate files, so it isn't that one has gone AWOL.
OK, finally got it worked out. I had to export both my toolbars and layouts from 4.12 and import them into 4.16. It was driving me nuts trying to use 2 different layouts. Now that both layouts are the same its much easier to bounce back and forth. Also I think I would have installed the public build much sooner had I known that it actually doesn't overwrite 4.12.0.86. This was a nice surprise, as I thought this would overwrite 4.12, but it only overwrites my previous beta release, so I can concurrently use both 4.12 and 4.16 pro.
I've installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, reinstalled DIM and DAZ Studio 4.16 over and over again. I've checked and adjusted the content location in DIM and DAZ Studio and I STILL get this error EVERYTIME I try to load ANYTHING from Daz 3D 4.16 on my brand new, fully loaded iMac with Monterey v. 12.0.1, I've also shut down and restarted my Mac several times. I'm growing very frustrated.
HELP! please?
Since I installed the latest Studio v. 4.16, the navigator in the top right does nothing. What do I need to do to get it to work again as in the previous versions?
You have selected Front View in the drop down. Change it to Perspective View or a real camera.
You have the veiwport locked to one of the locked views.
Front, Left, Right, back, top and bottom are locked views.
Switch it to perspective or one of your cameras.
THANK YOU!!!
Now, if I can only get Studio to find my files without having to use "Browse to file location" every time I try to load content.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to fix this problem?
Is the product showing as installed through Daz Studio or through Install Manager? Assuming daz Studio has gone online, is there a downward triangle in a broken circle icon at top-right of the product thumbnail in Smart Content's products tab?
@dhhaack RE: Could not open file... File does not exist
Have you checked if the Milennium SubDragon file exists in Daz yet? Search your Files list both Smart Content and the Content Libray tabs. Then, select the product icon, and check the Info window pane in Daz Studio to see where the file location is.
The locations should point to something like this (see my attached screenshots):
C:/Users/Public/Documents/My DAZ 3D Library/Animals/Millennium SubDragon/SubDragon LE.duf
Sometimes this happens when install methods are mixed... such as the file is installed through DIM, but Daz Studio is looking for the file in the Daz Connect folder. If you log-in to Daz Studio, it can also lead to this problem.
If this is your case try to Unistall the product in your Content Library tab (right-click on icon and select Delete) and then re-install with Daz Install Manager (DIM).
Note-1, when you are installing content via DIM, make sure Daz Studio is closed.
Note-2, when you launch Daz Studio, do NOT log-in, as it will then use Daz Connect.
If you are only using DIM, check the install path in DIM and make sure it exactly matches the path in Daz Studio's Content Directory Manager.
How can I roll back to the prior version? Daz had a good thing going and now it is nearly useless. I can't believe someone authorized such drastic changes to a good product. Whoever it was should be fired!
