This is as far as I am going to get.

Thank you for the comments, UnifiedBrain, Headwax, and Bunyip02.   Added a cape for the hero.  Created a light rig.  The hero figure is primarily back lit with spot lights set to only affect the hero figure.  A distant light is set only to affect the volumetric cloud and the background plane with my previous bat signal render.  The scene has a few distant lights on low settings for the city in general.

The scene is so dark that people may not see the hero figure at all looking at just the forum page.  We'll see.

  • There are several great renders that are in this thread, but have not yet been entered.

I think that Freelight is new here, and may not be aware that there is a separate entry thread?

Hope Freelight and others here get their images entered.  yes

  • Thanks HW and Bunyip, for the comments on the Space Buggy render.  Photo Realism is hard, and I'm afraid that I fell a little short.  But each time I learn something new. :)

certainly very effective - love the lighting effect you achieved using the composite

scratching to get another one done

I used Philemenons cutout plug in to make a flat spider shape to project the spider shadow on the kid - lighting with cone effect on a spot

did a grey scale image using noir carrara plug in and then added a tint in post as well as boit of tone mapping

another angle and crop with scene setup, the boy and the boy's clothes are lit up by two seperate bulbs other wise he would have been in too much shadow

a bit of a cliche this setup but keep that to yourself...
