I got my new Hewlett Packard Envy computer a few months ago. It has an i7 CPU, nVidia 1660 (super?!) GPU, 32GB RAM, 500GB SSD and 1TB Hard drive. The computer works just fine.

Here's a photo of my current setup. I have a wheeled table that I can pull up close to the recliner. The computer case is on a shelving unit to the left. I have long cords for the video card, etc.

Nice set-up Ron. I understood why you need a lounge when I saw the bottle of Jim Beam.

fred9803, my legs get swollen if I sit at a regular desk very long. This setup makes me very comfy!

    WendyLuvsCatz: nice!

In past my legs were terrbly swollen. I got treatment at the wound center in a local hospital. I was diagnosed with edema!

    Aw I like having a bottle around!laugh

Nice set up... but, I'm curious if the Jim Beam and Peanut Butter are together in the background because of a mixed drink or sandwich I'm not yet aware of, or it's just coincidence...

Never mind, I'm not going to wait for an answer... I'll just experiment...

UPDATE-  Well, it definitely wasn't a Peanut Butter and Bourbon sandwich...

Nice setup Ron.  Glad to hear that you finally got it.  And I like the roll around table too.yes  I too have similar trouble sitting at my desk for very long.  I would use a similar setup here while sitting in my recliner chair but I don't have enough room to maneuver a wheeled gizmo around.  I have to walk my legs single file in some places in my apartment.  So I use a wireless keyboard/touchpad sitting in my lap, and switch the computer output to my TV.

The bottle on the shelf didn't grab my attention, but the peanut butter did.  Yum!

McGyver. the kitchen counter is a "catch all" place in the kitchen. Right now there are a few cases of various prepared foods such as Hormel Compleats meals. More cases are coming over the next few days.

LeatherGryphon, I thought my apartment was cramped! I can easily walk around unless I have some junk around the edges. I'm getting food shipments from Amazon, which means I'll have a few boxes to contend with.

LeatherGryphon might be one of those hoarders cheeky

I believe he collects computer parts.

I deny being a hoarder.  But I am a collector.  An organized collector.  A neat collector.  A collector of many types of things.  Everything has a place, everything is in its place.  Everything on display is dusted.  Everything else is in clean, uncrumpled, neatly labeled boxes.  And I have some big furniture in a small room.  And despite my mental gymnastics I can not for the life of me design a better way to fit everything into this room which serves as my office, living room, dining room, and warehouse. (But I would not want to show pictures of my bedroom at the moment.  I have pulled out many many boxes from the attic and am currently sorting them looking for things to sell on ebay)

I have known hoarders, hoarders were my friends, I am no hoarder.

Ooh, Hormell Compleats meals.  I get them too.   I love the chicken ones.yes  So, YOU'RE the one who has emptied the shelves of them at Amazon Pantry.angry  And yes, I wash and save the nice sturdy little oblong tubs that they come in.  Although I finally realized that enough is enough so I've started recycling them.  Anybody want a place setting of little oblong tubs for a dinner party of 30?frown  I use the tubs for holding crumbly or wet snacks while sitting in my chair.  And I've toyed with the idea of using them for freezing portions of goulash and other casserole type mass productions.

I just bought a Dell 27" monitor to replace an old 24" monitor. I will get it on Thursday!

(No I don't save the Compleats tubs. And since I have more food in the cupboards, all dishes and glassware go into the lowest cupboards... All food is above the sink.)

Here's my setup. I work in a call center, so the laptop on the left, is my phone. I have two other laptops which are macs, you can't see on the right side of the room. The main rendering machine is an HP Envy Obelisk. If you look closely, you can see I have handled 27 calls today with a 3.58 minute turnaround. Enjoy.

Serene Night, you're able to do the call center work at home? Nice. I worked mostly in call centers for the last couple decades of my work history.

Ron, I think you started something... well, not the really meaty, peanutty mixed drink thing... a thread where folks can show off their workspaces too.

Or share their beef stew smoothie recipes... either one.

no wonder I'm incomplete. I have peanut butter on bread, not with bourbon.

yes. We have a browser based call center called seranova. It has a chat and phone component. you only need a headset with microphone and a windows 10 machine with chrome and an internet connection of course.

the call center routes calls based on proficiency and availability. It works pretty well.

I can see how it might be nice to handle calls at home. You don't have to deal with troublesome fellow employees, etc. But I can see how it might be hard to handle at home as well. My last call center job was at a Security company. If someone set off an alarm, we'd get the call and verify whether everything was safe. It was an interesting job, but unfortunately the bosses just never got the idea on how to efficiiently manage such an important job. The employee turnover was so frequent that they never got a full staff while I was there. That left the remaining employees overworked and stressed out.

Can I play? I really envy people who can keep a neat workspace.
But I spend as little time in the house as I can, so I gotta make sacrifices.

My last boss told me that I had to answer the phone when he called. He couldn't seem to get it through his head that working nights, his 1300 was my 0100.
It took a call to our safety department to convince him to knock it off. I had to be well-rested and sharp if I was going to drive a 40-ton truck all night.

I prefer working from home. I don't battle traffic, struggle to park and have to walk 3-6 blocks to the building where I work in cold windy or rainy day. I don't have to walk half a block to go to the bathroom. Since they opted to have only one on each floor and my office is quite far from it. Plus the cubicle I work in was small and cold in winter and hot in summer.

At home my dog can sit behind me on my bed, I have a window to look out of, and when work is over, there is no long walk to the car.

Problems arise but they are the same ones that I'd  have at work, so I just roll with the punches.

Petercat, you have an impressive workspace. Don't worry about the mess. My entire apartment is always on the verge of being totally overwhelmed. This week is a good example. I have a delivery from Amazon almost every day this week!

since we are sharing, I will add my lounge setup with the iray/Octane Win10 rig and my comfy chair I regularly swap with an office chair depending on if neck or back is hurting.

yes kitties sit on that cushion as they do on the bed in the other photo but when taking photos they are usually circling my legs. wink

Well I have what one might call a "minimalist" arrangement.

    laptop on stand.

Having just completed my new build, I take this opportunity to show it off.  And although it has no place of honor to sit and display its colorful innards it has joined the stable and currently sits unceremoniously on the floor waiting for better days.

The big image is four shots of my Office/Living room/Dining room/Museum/Warehouse area.  The small image is my comfy chair in which I sit with my flock of remote controls and wireless switches and keyboards & mice to fly the beast by watching on my TV if I feel lazy or am unable sit a minute longer at my desk.
