Is the beta still available for download? The link at the top isn't working.

Still not working! I think this current one runs out sometime next week...maybe we will see a bit of movement then.

The serial expires in one week. DAZ will do something. Release Candidate or new serial? Maybe another version to test?

I have a couple of questions about the beta. We got up to .172 which I have been using, yet .132 ships with C8Pro. Why? Which one should I be testing?

Is there a log in Carrara that can be looked at for troubleshooting like there is in Studio?

    Hi AtticAnne :)

Stick with the most recent,.. 172

they should both work with the same serial (expires December) but 132 would have bugs which may have been fixed in 172.
so,.. 172 should be the build to use for testing. (if you have it)

I'm not entirely sure why the 132 build is being added to accounts, but I'll try to find out.

Carrara doesn't have a Log file,. it creates a Temp file, for work in each scene, and (Importantly) this sometimes remains in the DazTemp folder,. after a crash,..
So,.. you should check this folder occasionally, to see if temp files are being left after any crashes, lock-ups, forced quits, etc..
You can delete any files that are there,. as long as carrara isn't running at the time.

the path is C:\Users\YourName\Documents\DAZ 3D\DazTmp on PC.

If you have an issue with something, and it's repeatable,. Start a new thread about it, and I'll try to help,.. or post a Bug report .

    :)

Thanks, Andy. I've been using .172 and will continue to do so. I'll also check the temp file.

Well the new serial number gives an error: The serial number is invalid.

And that's it? Nothing, no word, no update, no "how you doen"? Here's your new serial number and back out the door.

And people wonder why I have this attitude.

And that some how makes it better? We want news and get customer service dropping off a new serial number? That is it?

I swear I feel like us Carraraests count for less and less every day. We want some sort of update, some idea of what is going on, some news, and we get CS politely dropping off an new serial. And nothing.

Like someone said " hey that carrara serial is running out, be a dear and post this new one for us, thanks".

Yes. I get serial number is invalid too. I tried all the usual tricks. Cutting and pasting into Carrara. Pasting it into a word processor first. Typing it in by hand.

This situation continues to be confusing.

Seeing the email address "bcreek@daz3d.com" used as a forum name for a DAZ employee seems peculiar. And listed as a "New Member" as well.

If this is indeed Britney Creek, then who is DAZ_CREEK, who is listed as an "Administrator"?

And what has happened to Blaine Furner, who hasn't been seen in this thread for a month now?

Does the new serial number actually work?
Why does it begin with CDZTPRO, when all of the previous serials began with CDZCPRO? I always assumed that CPRO stood for Carrara Pro. What does TPRO stand for?

(I see that Wendy has noticed this too.)

    I believe that's Chris Creek ,.

As for Britney being in the forums,. I'm wondering who's Running things at Daz H.O. while she's here :)

perhaps we're seeing a change..... info.. directly from daz staff.

I don't mean this as an insult, but the apparent dysfunction of DAZ in certain areas since the "merger" with Gizmoz has been pitiful.

You mean you'd prefer better quality dysfunction?

If I'm paying for it, I expect only the highest quality dysfunction. Charlie Sheen stuff. This is more like Lindsay Lohan crap.

Charlie Sheen does do some pretty good dysfunction. More of a David Hasselhoff style dysfunction fan myself.

I think not. Check the profile avatar picture for DAZ_CREEK here:
    http://www.daz3d.com/forums/member/281345

There is also a DAZ_ccreek, which may be Chris.

Perhaps Britney has two profiles. But why? Just to confuse us more?
