I had never heard of them before I went searching for the moths yesterday. On the Central Coast of California I saw Red-tail Hawks, Hummingbirds, Jays, little brown birds, skunks, wild cats, brown bears, racoons, and a furry striped spider, black widows.

As a matter of fact, my exposure to the natural world has been limited since my childhood was mostly Los Angeles, where they had to bring in a cow to our school so kids could actually see one. As a young teen, my aunt and uncle had a small ranch in the Mojave Desert and had horses and chickens. Only time I ever road a horse or picked up eggs, fed chickens...

So there are many aspects of Daz3D that has been an education and a lesson in humility for me.

HATE these forums. I enlarged the pic on the duplicate post. WHY they have a duplicate under the one you just posted is beyond me.

That car thread in Commons talking about correct scaling got me curious a couple weeks ago, I took time today to render the VanishingPoint Toyota Yaris to see if people were scaled correctly. The answer is yes. This car, the Luxury Sedan 2, Pathfinder, and Modern Truck are all in my book and render quite nicely. They're all in the same scene (I'll remind you of that when the book gets released.)  The doors are easy to open/shut. I didn't test anything else.

The color is changed, I made it a darker green.

They don't, in general. Some people do seem to get a lot of duplicates, I can only assume it's some browser or plug-in specific issue. At which point this will probably post twice just to spite me.

The submission process is pretty slow. Sometimes it looks like you didn't click the button or it didn't go through, when in reality you did and it is going through. This could lead to clicking the button again. My guess would be that some people are just more cautious and patient than others and so have fewer problems. Just a theory.

What happened to me was I posted, with the image attached. Then I clicked on the image to get the URL and added it to the post- but it was the second duplicate post that I added it to. I only clicked POST one time.

  • memcneil70memcneil70 Posts: 4,112

That happens to me often, but as soon as my image is in the body of the original post and it is saved, I go to the duplicate and delete all the words and save. Most times it works. Then sometimes, it doesn't.

I have been going through my library of non-Daz sold stuff and making sure things work and found a prop set by GMS Props, Glass Tea Set that I had forgotten I had downloaded. After I loaded metadata for it, I thought it would be interesting to see it in Iray, and then that led to my render, but first I had to add a smoke prop from MattyMax (in place of steam). My flatmate liked it, and since i had accidentally shattered his handblown glass teapot years ago, I gave him the render. (I replaced it with a cast iron teapot, since glass ones seem to be not available.)

Updated post to add links to products used.

Ooooooo!!!! That's so pretty!!! That's one of my earliest freebies and nothing makes my heart happier than people getting good use out of it. I'm so glad you (and hopefully your friend) are enjoying it. laugh

    That is absolutely stunning!

Thanks everyone! This made a lovely ending to my 69th birthday. And Thom made the render his desktop image on his iMac.

@zombitaggerung, I love your freebies and this is a tiny gem of one. My thanks for your craftsmanship and generosity.

Happy Birthday to you, hope it was a good one

Robert, a day I didn't have to cook, is good one! :-)

And being able to get some work on the project to clean-up my files and make sure they work properly when I want to use them is a joy. And no thunderstorms at all.

    Thank you @certaintree38

Just a note, I updated my initial Glass Tea Set post to add links to the two products I used. Late last night I forgot to do it.

The tea set looks great and Happy Birthday

  • NovicaNovica Posts: 23,887

@memcneil70 Happy Birthday!  Glad you didn't have to cook, and more importantly, your eyes are on the mend. Was worried about you.

On the 29th I'll be 65 Imagine my absolute joy to discover Tricare for Life covers everything that Medicare doesn't, so I don't need any supplemental insurance! Yeah, go retired veterans! (My hubby.)

    Thanks for adding the links.

Thank you both. I just finished with My Daz 3D Library on the laptop, Drake. Still have the desktop, Dragon to work on. That can wait for tomorrow.

Don't forget to get your new ID Card Novica. At least now, Pass and IDs should be back to normal work and not masked.

I am trying to now get myself back into shape. Trying is the operational term. I seem to have more backsliding than forward movement.

    All of you have fun.

Heads up, if you did that survey, the $10 credit was put in your account today. :)  That was fast, they said it would be around June 6th.

I just used my store credit to pick up a few more of Paper Tiger's light sets. If you haven't ever tried them you may want to give them a look

  • SeraSera Posts: 1,675
Paper Tiger is great! I use thier light rigs all the time. I also really like DimensionTheory. I think my next lighting purchase will be Iray Sky Pro by KindredArts. I have heard really good things about the Daz sun/sky system but never wanted to use it before because there were no clouds.

Cool; I bought the DO DAZ Dog 8 Labrador and the ancient DO Chimp but I used the BLENDERDEALZ coupon to get an extra 20% off. Still had to pay $3.97 cash. I only like the DO DAZ Dog 8 Husky & DO DAZ Dog 8 Grey Wolf now to have all the DO DAZ Dog 8 breeds now!.

Anybody know why Tamati HD for Kwan 8 was updated to remove Kwan 8 from the mix? No other changes, other than a new name (Tamati HD for Genesis 8 Male), but it was very deliberately done. Of course, none of the documentation, description or promos have been touched to indicate anything has changed.

From the looks of him, I suspect that something wasn't done correctly in the first place, and even though his settings said Kwan was applied at 75% -- I checked that setting before downloading the update -- that wasn't actually happening.

Image below has new Tamati without Kwan on the left, and tattooed Tamati with Kwan at 75% on the right. Left Tamati looks MUCH more like the version on the product page than the version on the right. Kwan Tamati is shorter, his face is MUCH flatter (you can't see that in this image), and his body is so muscular that it actually doesn't look right. My guess is that the change basically just acknowledges the reality that there actually isn't any Kwan in there.

Tamati without and with Kwan 75%

I also did one with Kwan at 25% which I suspect is closer to where he was intended to be.

    Kwan at 25%

Also, I suspect that means that the image of Tamati without Kwan in his product page is actually Tamati with negative amounts of Kwan, which would explain why he looks so ... odd.

If you got the $10 store credit for doing the survey, be aware that the orange banner today says that credit expires on Jun 21. I've never heard of store credit expiring before, have you?
