Platinum Club forum?

I restarted my Platimum Club membership after a long break. Now that I'm back, I can't seem to find the Platinum Club forum. I tried the link provided, but that only took me to my account page. Does the Platinum Club forum exist anymore? If so, could someone provide a link? thanks

I have suffered the same issue since the new site went live. It happens when the forums think you have logged out, but the store thinks you are logged in, so any attempt to log in via the forum log in link, takes you to your account page, as if you were already logged in. However, if you then navigate back to the forums, it claims you are still logged out, and so you can neither post nor see the PC forum.

There is a workaround. You have to log out from the store, and then log back in again, and this time the forums will think you are logged in, and you can access the PC forum.

Happens to me every 1-2 days since the new site went live

Are you mods having fun yet? :)
Seriously, thanks for all the assistance you've been giving people since the site went live. I'll be surprised if you've any hair left after pulling it out! (Maybe that's why some of your avatars are wearing a hat... Jack's is a nice changeup.)

Just FYI- For new people joining, when you go to Forums, there is a section that says Members. The PC thread is in there. (That's not what these folks are experiencing, it's not showing up for them.)

I'll scoop up the names from here, and make sure access is correct for everyone.

If you read my post, I do not think there is anything wrong with any persons individual account, it is just that the new site has created a situation where people can not easily find the forum due to being in a strange state where they are logged into the store but not the forum.

I do not know why this is happening, but I suspect it is linked to some sort of auto log out mechanism. I know with the old site you were logged out automatically after a period of inactivity of a few hours. That no longer seems to happen with the new site, at least with the store. What I suspect is happening is people are being auto logged out of the forums (since they are still linked with the old site), but are not being auto logged out of the shop, hence leaving them in the strange state I described above.

It is a technical issue with the new site. At least there is a workaround, people affected must explicitly log out of the store and then back in. After this forum access should work as before.

Sadly there was an issue before the new site rolled out, where new members weren't getting their forum access updated... so I don't think it's the login issue to blame (I've seen that too myself, but alas).. or at least, I don't want to just assume that's the only problem here.

Once I know access is correct, then we can troubleshoot from there :)

Yep, same problem here. Joined the PC+ club a couple of weeks ago - Yet to see the forum that goes with it.

Havos, if you click your name next to a post you will see that you are in the Platinum Club Members group, which gives you access to MO as long as you are logged in. The people with the issue, if you click their names, are plain Members - they haven't been added to 9or removed from) the PC member group for the forum and won't have access to MO whatever they do (short of getting the attention of Jack or the mods*).

    * Jack is of course by far the best person to ask, and has far more time to deal with this.

Anyone who can`t find the Platinum Club / Members Only Section in the Forum make sure you`re Log In... the Platinum Club Section only Shows up when you`re loged in otherwise it isn`t visible (like it was in the old Forum)

Well I will admit to having trouble tracking all the permutations of this conversation, but I did log out and back in from the forums page just to check and I still do not see the PC forums where it used to be or anywhere in the list of forums, so I will wait to get put on the list.

Thanks to Jack and everyone putting your attention to this!

I was refering to a different issue than the one Jack mentioned. However the symptoms of this other problem appears to be the same, ie: when you go to the forum list the PC members forum is missing. Naturally my issue has a workaround, I understand new members suffer from an older problem, and obviously need Jack's help.

Joined just the other day and logging out/in doesn't seem to show any new sections on the forum. Think I'm in the same fix. :)

    Thanks in advance!

Hi, I just joined the platinum club again after ages away, and can't access the PC forum. I'm not showing up as a Platinum Club member on my profile, but it is showing up in my store account. No doubt it's just a delay, but I figured I'd mention it anyway. :)
