Josh Crockett makes a lot of great creatures, and the War Goblin is another nice addition. He doesn't seem to make male and female versions of his characters though. It's usually either/or as far as I've seen. Another missing feature of his characters is textures for anatomical elements. They can only be cartoon naked I guess. cheeky

Maybe they're the type of goblins who reproduce from mushrooms and don't have genders (so I guess no dangly bits*)??

(I'm sure someone knows of what this refers)

*though they stopped mentioning a half human group from the setting which would have possibly given them dangly bits, but that was ages ago when there was loads of currently "non canon" stuff. Though then again, if they have no dangly bits, why do they bother wearing loincloths? I have spoken too much about dangly bits now. laugh

you cannot love the Goblin in that way

When a man and a goblin love each other very much..

    ...they exchange loving glances!

Then the goblin steals his heart (and eats it)blush

i don;t use nudes so danglies and stuff do not matter to me. They get covered with cloth. I suppose though, you could get a nice male crotch bulge with dforce pants if you had them attached.

Though, often the dangly bits don't even work with some clothing (even the ladies ones have trouble) and poke out..

You could also use a primitive scaled around and parented to the area probably (which might even cause less problems).

A simple "bulge" morph often gives better results than trying to use clothes with the geograft.

Too bad it's 8,1 only, so it's a no buy for me. But I just have not enough money to rebuy all the expression packs in 8.1 versions and I'm too lazy to fiddle around to make the G8 versions working with G8.1

Not sure how accurate this is, but the promo pages say it is compatible with Genesis 8 Male also.

It is indeed compatible with Genesis 8. It uses the same UVs Genesis 8 uses, so any skin used on Genesis 8 will technically work on him. Only thing that has changed is the shader which is the new PBR shader, otherwise should work just fine on Genesis 8 with exclusion of the Expressions which are specifically multiplied for use with 8.1 Expressions and the FACS system.

Hope that helps for those who are on the fence about picking it up.

Uhm... could it give some more detail, pls?

    1. Compatible with G8M = can be loaded on the base G8M and takes other morphs intended G8M?
    2. Can take other G8M figures' textures, but the textures coming with it are PBR only?
    3. Would his textures work on a base G8M figure?
    4. Would G8M geoshell applications - like most 3rd party dangly bits - work with him?

Thanks, if You find the time to answer to thissmiley

    1. Yes

    2. Yes

    3. Yes

    4. Yes, they should. They might have to use the PBR materials

I am pretty sure about all of these answers but not 100%. They should be the same as other characters but I know there has been some confusion along the way.

  • There is no way to load the morphs on to G8, they won't show up in the parameter dials so there is no way to load them  that I can see.

There are a couple male leather thongs that look bulgy. I don't remember off the top of my head but one mightbe from the Frog guy's loin cloth. Just need to make the fronds invisible.

Inside the installation file, are the morphs located in G8M or G8.1M morph folders?

    File List [Documentation Center] (daz3d.com)

    The file list shows /data/Daz 3D/Genesis 8/Male 8_1/Morphs

In that case G8M doesn't see the morphs, ie. they are meant exclusively for G8.1M, but...

I can see two ways to get G8 to see those G8.1 morphs.

    1. Copy or move the morphs manually to G8 morph folders, although copying may not be a good idea with DS 4.15 as G8.1 would see the morphs twice afterwards, may also require some manual editing to fix the paths.
    2. They have introduced a new folder with the G8.1 "...\Data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\[Gender] 8_1\Add-ons\Daz 3D\Base\", which contains a file "DazAddonPath.dsf".
Inside this file they are telling DS 4.15 which folders to read to add the G8 morphs to the figure.
If you added the same folder stucture to G8 and made G8 it's own "DazAddonPath.dsf" which told G8 to read the G8.1 morph folders, in theory you could get G8 to read G8.1 morphs but I have not tried this (yet)
