I just did the same with my gallery, not that there was ever much in there, simply to join in the statement a lot of people are currently making by doing this. Dear DAZ, NFTs are not about art or empowering artists or anything of that kind, they're just not, whatever you may sincerely believe. Please stop endorsing them!
I also deleted my gallery. This isn't the type of gesture I usually make, but I'm not comfortable having my work here until I know how this shakes out and I hear at least a high level statement from Daz about their vision for the company.
how do i delete my gallery as well as all messages i've posted in this forum
Thanks
Become a supervillain, create a doomsday machine and blow up the world... that or wade through all of your posts deleting one at a time... blowing up the world is probably easier and realistically it's probably good exercise too.

And more fun, but you need to arrange a new place to live first.
What are the alternatives? As far as chatting with other users of DS go? Rendo is always deserted and those on DA still seem like they have a gag-order which is now probably worse. (Discord, if there are any groups, aren't good at all. Don't even get me started on Twitter, IG, or FB.)

Could be time to start a new Discord and invite all of us!
I don't hate Discord, but sometimes the group convos move way too fast that it's overwhelming. Think of those hot topic forum threads but 10x's faster and harder to track specific comments (like tutorials or explanations) down.
I only had a few images in my gallery. But I decided to delete them. If not for protecting my rights, then at least to show my disapproval of this NFT stunt
@Ati you seem to have missed the NFT and Diigitals discussions.
I did, yeah, lack of time. I know what they are, and that's all I read up on the subject. Do you automatically become a seller if you have images in your Daz gallery, or does Daz sell your images, or what's going on? :-o Why delete the gallery?

Nothing about gallery will change at all (there are some fears to the contrary but I believe the statement Daz issued). I'm personally doing it because I take this move by them very seriously and if there's anyone internally gathering feedback, site metrics and user behavior are sometimes more impactful than words.

First, yay the quote system in the forums are working for me again!
On to your question. I don't know a lot about it, but it seems people are concerned that the way the gallery EULA is written, either DAZ or a third party could sell an NFT for something posted in the gallery. The reponses from various DAZ representatives have sounded like legal doublespeak and have not been reassuring to some people. I don't have a gallery here, and doubt that I would delete it if I did, but everyone has different comfort levels.
Other people, including myself, have concerns about the environemtal impact and potential for abuse intrinsic in NFTs. Personally, I am slowing down my buying at DAZ, but not stopping it or boycotting the store. For some people it is a deal breaker. Everyone has to decide for themself whether it is a big deal and how they want to respond.

It's been posted a few times in the NFT thread, but people seem to be talking at each other instead of to each other over there so I'll repeat it here:
Without getting explicit approval, Daz will not be listing any of your gallery images as NFT's.

Actually you are the first person from DAZ to specifically say that, for which I personally appreciate it.
Everyone else from DAZ has said that DAZ would not sell our images without the artist approval.
It might be splitting verbiage hairs, but when massive things like this are sprung on people with only hype words... What kind of reaction do you honestly expect?

For the gallery images...
Go to My Gallery. Open up each image. Select Edit. Then select Delete.Confirm the Delete.
Repeat this for every image you have uploaded. Then when the album is empty, you can delete the album.
I just spent two hours doing this for my gallery.

There is a subreddit too. Not as active as here, but that could always change.
Those of us on the Daz Slackers discord are offended.
(We're silly, but there's occasionally something sensible in amongst it all).
Could be time to start a new Discord and invite all of us!
What did I miss? The forum is a bit more hidden now. But other than this, did anything change?
@Ati you seem to have missed the NFT and Diigitals discussions.
Actually, it's been much slower paced there. After a few minutes, we got sidetracked by talking about Ned Flanders' butt.
I only had a few images on the Daz galleries but I deleted them too the NFT move is a massive misstep by DAZ but I might be wrong...
@MimicMolly Sorry, my post was actually meant in response to Ati. Now my ability to quote posts in the forum is broken. Happy fun times!

I see. Thanks for the explanation.
Ah, makes sense. Thank you.

we cannot use our words to express our disproval so all we have left are our actions
