I fail to see how uninstalling Daz Central would have any affect on the opperation of the DS program itself with regard to render times, but apparently it did for you. Can anyone suggest why it might?
It's no big deal. I just set it, go watch some tv and check the log for render time. :D
So far I've done both the 1070 and the 970:
970: 56 minutes
1070: 37 minutes.
I'm currently running the CPU test, so far at 3% complete and 13 minutes run time it's noisy but not too bad, it's way less noisy comapred to the OP's first post, but the environmental lighting is different and I'm not using any addiontal lights except for what loads in the default scene. I dunno.
My completed render:
Removing the ceiling light will lessen the necessary calculations for Iray, so it will render quicker as a result. The render looks better and more realistic IMO.
With regard to Daz Central, do you think that unstalling it has somehow made you CPU rendering more efficient, released some sys ram and lowered the CPU load. The only way I see this happening is if Central runs as a seperate program like Install Manager and is eating up your CPU resources while it's running.
LILWEEP SAID..."This is a freebie, so I have this scene as well."
No it's not free. I paid like $15 for it here. It has now dropped in price...maybe because it is so hard to render it the way it is set up.
It was a freebie once, probably the weekly freebie or the monthly PC+.
According to the "once thursday..." thread it was a PC+ weekly freebie last december (released on december 30th)
no i didnt.
...looking at the order history for that day, yep was free as I was and still am a PC+ member.
One thought, to view a product page and have it show the 30% discount for being a DO requires being a PC member, so wondering how it cost 15$.back then. It is beyond the 3 month limit for a "new release" as well
jb641 said it ! Not you. Smack me upside the head!
Well I'll be a suck egg mule! I had to pay for mine.
...are you a PC+ member?
