It's so good! The pearls are mostly for mouth feel/chewy texture, but it's one of the best parts. I love bubble tea better than fruit smoothies. And it's a million times better than a frappuccino. I recommend anyone with a bit of a sweet tooth to try one.
Strong and milky with half a teaspoon of sugar. Proper tea, not peppermint or other pretend teas.
So first drink in the morning is coffee - instant, granulated because I can't be bothered with fresh ground which is too expensive and a little too bitter for my taste. My other two hot drinks for the day are both tea.
We have a lot of people who like things ranging from fruit to milk in their tea. I didn't expect that.

Hot, but it usually sits around so long it becomes lukewarm. At restaurants I order ice tea though.

Tetley Tea, one bag in the mug, and pre-heat the mug.... we are tea fanatics in Newfoundland. In fact, there is a Tea Ceremony every time someone enters a home to visit.
Pour boiling water into the mug..... I like my tea HOT..... fusion reactions hot, like the center of a star.
Cover the mug with one piece of aluminum foil, allow to steep perhaps 3-4 minutes, and remain hot.
Add evaporated milk, just enough to remove the bitterness..... drops, really,,,,, no sugar.
Sublime in the morning with breakfast, homemade bread toasted with peanut better.
I will sometimes have tea with cookies, pie, pastries.
Love it hot in the summer too.
Also like hot chi tea.

I have two or three cups a day. For breakfast I have English Breakfast tea, used to be Twinings but I can't seem to find it locally anymore so I just use Marks and Spencer's own brand. In the afternoon/evening I drink Yorkshire Tea.
Tea has got to be hot and brewed in a pot, boiling water poured on loose leaves - not bags. A little milk and one level teaspoon of sugar in the cup then the tea poured in.
I rarely drink tea on its own, usually with a meal or a snack - cereal, sandwiches or cake.
Here in England the continuous critical question is: "Do you put your milk in first or last?" (answered above!). Another point worth making is that, for me at least, tea has to be "just so", if it's too milky or sweet or warm then it's not nice at all.

Q: How do you stop yourself from burning your fingers on the glass when drinking hot mint tea?
A: Hold the glass very carefully by the rim, using your thumb and forefinger. If you have a napkin, you can wrap that around the glass, but it's generally easier just to use the thumb-forefinger pinch to hold it until it cools down enough that you can touch the glass without sustaining third-degree burns.
I am a long time user of tea (many, many years) and drink it many times a day, but different kind at the evening.
I prepare a tea only from tea bags, because I do not have time to use it otherwise.
I just add boiling water to the cup with tea bag in it and I do not add anything else.
I wait a few minutes and then I remove the tea bag from the cup.
Usually I divide one cup of such tea in 3 parts, take each part to a separate cup
and fill with the cooled down, already boiled water to the full capacity of the cup,
to have it at the proper temperature and consistence. Then, I drink it.
I drink black tea until early afternoon and Rooibos kind at the evening.
I drink tea after meals, if possible, to digest properly the food, I have eaten.
I never drink a tea hot. If it happens (very rarely) not very hot and only, if I have limited amount of time.
Usually, I regret drinking a slightly hot tea afterwards. My mouth and the rest of the digestion system
has very little resistance to high temperatures and it is easily get hurt by such extravaganza.
As a matter of a brand, I drink mostly Lipton black tea and for the last 2 years Rooibos at the evening,
because it is easier to get asleep at night. Black tea is better for me during the first part of the day,

So far, Bigelow's Decaf Vanilla Chai. No store near me carries it, but it's pretty inexpensive by the case on Amazon! Failing that, I will always choose a spicy decaf black tea or a peppermint herbal. Dogadan also used to have a chocolate tea I loved but sadly they don't seem to sell it any more.

I add some dairy-free milk to mine (alas, in my 30's I developed a dairy allergy). Unlike coffee, black tea doesn't taste really bitter to me, so I don't usually sweeten it (again, unless Fuseling's special chai is on the table).

Steeping in boiling water is better than microwaving even if the latter does produce a stronger tea faster. Don't let anyone tell you what to like. Try everything once or twice. And if you like something that isn't "sophisticated," that's perfectly all right. Don't be discouraged by the bitterness of herbals, there are many options out there that don't require you to have caffeine if you don't want. And especially try rooibos mixtures. It has that fuller-bodied taste like black teas have but is natively caffeine-free.

This is a fun thread idea, I like it. :) Trader Joe's has a good English Breakfast Tea for surprisingly cheaper than anyone else, if you like that kind and live near them. Be sure and check online, too, sometimes it's cheaper to buy in bulk (and teabags keep basically forever).
Anybody got a rec for a good chocolate tea, now that I'm thinking about it and Dogadan doesn't make it any more? I don't really care for Stash's.
How often: A mug or two an hour. It is the stuff I drink. Not water, beer, coffee, just Tea. 15+ mugs a day. Less fluid intake than that and I get gout.
Type: PGTips
Temperature: Hot. Room temperature is unpleasant, cold or iced is utterly disgusting
Strength: Generally 5-10 mins stewing. However, frequently stewed for 30 minutes and reheated in a microwave. The more like tar the better.
Drunk with: Milk/powdered milk + sugar
Advice to newbies: if the mug is used 15 times a day it's sterile, regardless of how thick the black crust inside an unwashed mug. When the crust starts flaking off, scrape the rest off, the crust isn't very tasty, and chewy tea isn't nice. The crust starts flaking off at about 1/32" thick.
I have tea both with and without food.
In hard water areas, PGTips tastes best. In soft water areas, Yorkshire Tea/Tetley taste better.

I'm in the UK so tea is supposed to be my national drink (it certainly is for most of my family) but I really prefer decaff coffee most of the time (so I'm considered rather odd by the others) - however I do like my green tea in the afternoon.

Not that I can think of.
I never used to drink tea until a few years ago. I still don't drink coffee. That stuff has never appealed to me. I drink about 1-3 mugs of tea a day now. It's usually white, green or herbal tea, hot in the winter, cold in the summer. We always get the tea that has some type of flavor in it, like berry, orange, vanilla, etc. There's also an herbal chai bag tea that I like. Then there is the chai tea/latte that I love because they tend to be so sweet, but I drink that less because of the calories. Once in a while, I'll have a black tea. When I'm at home, I use monk fruit sweetener in my tea, but if I get tea at a coffee shop, I'll use a little sugar or have it infused with a bit of flavored syrup. I'm unable to make my tea myself, even at home, so I leave that to my girlfriend/caregiver. However she makes it, it tastes good to me.
What's your favorite hot cocoa?
I love hot chocolate. I am partial to many different varieties. My current favorite is cocoa powder, dash of cinnamon, and honey. I also have been known to melt two or three dove chocolate squares in hot milk to make cocoa.
The frozen bean is my go to premade cocoa and it's on Amazon. You can make it hot or cold to make frozen hot cocoa.
I declare this weekend "Tea Weekend" for any who care to indulge!
Fun Quote regarding tea as not just any beverage choice:
I find dutched cocoa makes very good hot chocolate, but I don't just follow the instructions on the package. I add sugar and vanilla and whatever else to taste. My aunt used to make excellent hot chocolate with Mexican chocolate rounds and evaporated milk.

Mostly, of course, I drink black tea called "Grüngold" by Bünting, which is an Assam tea. Pretty much what my Grandmother used to make for us when we were kids ^^;

In fact, my local baker sells a nice treat called "Teestange" ("tea pastry") made of puff pastry, marzipan, almonds and a ton of frosting. So I often eat that with some tea.

Infrequently... I used to keep lots of it around when I lived in NYC there were lots of places where I'd get specialty or unique teas from all over the world. I don't really bother with that anymore as the sun has set on that chapter of history and mostly those kind of stores no longer exist, having morphed into expensive specialty shops selling overpriced teas with stories.

Is "steeping" where you put the tea in the hot water and forget about it for an hour and then find a mug of brown water with a drowned spider in it which you forgot about because you were out in the yard cursing at squirrels which you now remember about because when you went to pick out the spider you noticed the tag floating around near the bottom, so you warm it back up in the microwave, but since you failed to remove the teabag it's really strong now, but you drink it anyway and then you remember the spider and you wonder if it added anything to the flavor, which isn't quite that bad and now you are wondering if you should add spiders from now on... if that's steeping, then yes.... and I think I may have just reveled the method too.

At first I wanted to say "the sweet salty tears of my enemies"... but, I hardly ever do that anymore, so besides spiders, who sorta add themselves, usually just sugar and milk or half & half... it really depends on the tea.
I suppose the only "other" I might add is ginger, but that's more for my wife when she is not feeling well... also she gets mad if I put spiders in her tea.

Don't drink the spider... take it out first... if you don't have lots of spiders, shake it off and let it dry on a paper towel and reuse it later.

It's a long story, but it's relaxing.
If it's Indian tea (see the statement below for further information), then it's probably because someone came over and maybe Samosas or Pakoras... also, since everyone here serves the tea at 26,000°F, I like to keep a burn kit handy for my tongue, because I still haven't mastered the control necessary to not drink flaming hot tea every time.

I think I mentioned the spider thing... um... if you like tea, you probably should try real Indian Masala tea, my wife's family is Indian and we often have Indian style tea... there are many kinds, because India is a big country with many different styles of tea... incidentally if you order "Chai Tea" you are ordering "Tea Tea" because "Chai" means "tea" in Hindi... generally you can get by with just "Chai" or calling it "Masala tea"... there are also lots of recipes online if you want to try making it for yourself if a good Indian restaurant isn't available in your vicinity.
