Not sure so much about stereotypes. I mean to be honest most of the outfits fit some kind of stereo type..child like waif, fantasy amazon warrior, fantasy demoness, fantasy fairy, etc etc... i mean really all the new releases, its all fantasy too. None of it is really realistic. Ya'know?
I'm not you know...calling the media or anything. Just saying I noticed it. I would've preferred more realistic everyday clothes personally but the characters and hair are awesome so there's that!
Can't wait for the poses, throwing garbage, setting fires.

Very pleasant surprise with these 2 new characters! Both Darius and Monique look absolutely stunning! I´m glad that with a female model (which we thought would arrive since there were some hints) arrived a black male model as well! Something that was definitely needed!
Both of them are at the top of my wishlist! : )
So what do you think is next? I think that an Indian pair would be really cool too (Indian from India, not native american although that would be awesome as well!).
Or polynesian characters. Or an arabic pair?
Or maybe just one or two more males since the ladies pretty much outnumbered the guys. That is expected since I guess most people prefer rendering females (including me).
I´m curious what´s coming next!
So glad I decided to wait till I got some sleep to press buy! Found that 30% coupon waiting for me and got the pro bundles for less then the starter ones would have been. So I tossed the swamp witch textures in my cart too. Can't wait till I have the time to play with them this weekend.

Love the look of the new characters, they are gorgeously made, and seeing them both at once - thank you DAZ. Trying to figure out a way to get both of them. Can't quite dive in for both pro bundles, so I'm trying to come up with a tailored cart that gets me my favorites without spending too much, but it's tough when I like so much of it. Anyway just wanted to say I'm thrilled to see them arrive and will be jumping on this release somehow. :)
Did you get an additional savings offer?
My only doubt/question, is that in one of the expressions packs, it looks like monique's teeth, the lower ones, are gray, and the upper ones white. It doesn't LOOK like a shadow issue. There's no clear pictures or big toothy smiles so I don't know.... hoping someone can show me. :)
Meantime, both pro sets are wishlisted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And THANK you Daz folks and vendors for these awesome characters! Love them!

I didn't get any MM coupon, as it was promised some days ago. I got a fine discount on Darius and Monique, but I think this was the discount everybody gets if you buy two or more new MM items.
After this purchase, I put two other new items ('Omri Hair' and 'Aether Outfit') into my cart and added 'Collective3d Bathroom Stuff', which should be free if I buy two or more new releases, but nothing happened. OMG....
Fo rme, Bathroom Stuff discounts by 100% when put to the cart with two items. And it doesn't have to be a new release. Any item from the categories listed works (but you need two).
This is, by the way, kind of AWESOME on the 'All' page, as it turns the whole thing into a special category showing just your wishlist.

If you're not familiar with how to use a bookmarklet, it has some directions. The simplest approach is to drag the 'Wishlistify' link up to your bookmarks bar, then go to the page you want it to run on, and click the newly added bookmark. It should change the PC+ filter to 'Wishlist' filter. Click the checkbox, and 'voila!'
N.b.: Only tested on Chrome. It might (should) work on other browsers.

Your addon sounds worthwhile, I will try to give it a try soon. But I use Firefox, so I don't know if it will be compatible.
Very nicely modelled, but I still don't understand what the hype is about, regarding whether a new character has been 'officially' made by Daz or some other vendor in the store. A character's a character, IMO.
To be honest, that's how I'm looking at the add-ons for these. Basketball costumes, I probably won't have any use for, personally, but it's good to see them being added for diversity's sake (because who know when we might need some). Same for a 'Voodoo witch' type of outfit - which I actually could have uses for, but not immediately.
I mean, we could say much the same for Reptilian 6: Primitive tribal 'lizard-man' stuff, because of typical RPG use. I'd have liked to see some kind of spacesuit for it, personally! Those specialised legs and the tail addition make it difficult to place in what is already available.
Then again, I'm still hoping that R6 is recent enough for someone like Raw Art to be making a crocodile-like or serpentine morph set for it. :)

Thanks for the info, with bank charges its cheaper to do one big check out than two or three smaller ones. Now I have time to pick the items I want.
Morgan's bookmarklets for Wishlistify and My Products work fantastically in Firefox. Just read his instructions for how to use them. Wishlistify was not immediately intuitive (for me), but the instructions were clear, and I got the hang of it quickly. They are great! Thank you, again, Morgan.
A different questions: what's wrong with the render as mentioned here: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/53161/?
I can't tell if its just the lighting/shader setup, but does some of the specular seem baked in to anyone else? Particularly Monique's nose? If anyone who has it could post a render with just ambient lighting, I would be eternally grateful.

It's an African (or Haitian, I guess?) stereotype. It's thematic, however, and DAZ almost always has a 'theme' to their character releases; not all asian males are kung fu-wearing ripped badasses, for instance. :) Personally, I don't think I'll ever use it, preferring the Minato outfit, but I'll admit it did make me a bit uncomfortable.-- Morgan
I suspect it's more to do with that particular outfit being the most eye-catching one, due to the head-dress. If you're marketing a visual and, especially, artistic medium, then that's what you typically aim to highlight your newest stuff with.

But no one has answered my question posted hours ago in another thread- how long are those artists' stores going to be on sale- more than one day or only one? With a one time use of the 30% coupon, I need to know if there are going to be new stores tomorrow with the ones from today still available.
The price for the pro bundles was insanely reduced thanks to March Madness. With the additional 30% discount, I almost felt like I was robbing Daz blind! I'm surprised there haven't been any renders of the new guys posted yet. I'm still waiting for my stuff to download and install through DIM, but I'll get one up once it's all sitting in my runtime.
It's great to get some more variety in our characters, and with Mei Lin and Lee, and now Monique and Darius we're filling in all the gaps. Another wonderful set to add to my expansive collection. Much love to all the PA's involved.
So it's March Madness 'cause it really drives you mad, right? I had Monique and Dario Pro in the cart for around $42,50 each. Now their price is suddenly up to $47,24 and Urban Survivors is at $14,98. That's both without the coupon. Whereas the $42,50 might have been a glitch and I'm just to late the price for Urban Survivors is definitely missing the extra 10% once should get for purchasing or owning the two pro bundles. Anyhow, will wait until tomorrow.
I don't think the $42.50 was a glitch. By my math, the extra 10% for buying the Pro Bundles together has cut out.

I'm thinking it was a glitch I was so excited when I seen both pro bundles for less than $90 but then got home from work and looked and they were over $90 I know it's only like a $9 or $10 difference I was still disappointed lol
Hold on while they work on it. Those weren't the only prices changing though. Now the bundles are at 29.76, and they were lower than that earlier. Things are changing in the cart, that's for sure.
And it goes with the pattern, of the base being in his underwear/starter pack being in normal(or normalish) clothes, and pro pack being in the big fantasy outfit of the set that Daz tends to follow.
