The clawbikini would probably come real close.

You can hide nearly all of it for more of a Boris Vallejo/Julie Bell type style.

The set you linked is a texture set for it.

I miss the days when we got fantasy clothing like that. It's good that DAZ is trying to appeal to a wider audience, but do you guys really think people are buying Grasp Helper to help their figures more realistically grab water bottles and stress balls?   ;)

I think it's a strong contender. Any competitors are definitely for G2 or V4 as well, outfits sadly got a lot less daring since Genesis 3.

Yes, newer outfits in the Genesis 8 era also have great skimpwear potential, like Soto's p-s pouch that is part of the Deadlands outfit..

Take off some of the layers. If it's one piece of clothing, then play with the Surfaces... some of the layers are intended to be hidden IMO. Store Nannies prevent the sales without the full shoulder coverage, but the PAs are creative about it.

That bikini is pretty scandelous laugh it has stiff competition but nothing comes to mind immediately that I think is more skimpy.

I think the skimpware stuff is fun, and I appreciate that others want/enjoy it. I personally prefer more practical outfits but I'd be a liar if I said I didn't have a few of the skimpy items in my library.

Wow, I must be getting really old, cuz I actually scratched my head over why anyone would want a stress ball cruncher.

(Adding it to my wishlist with only slight shame and embarrasment.)

  • Here's an example of an outfit that is skimpier than it presents, and it's already skimpy. https://www.daz3d.com/psy-dagger-outfit-and-weapons-for-genesis-8-females Peel away layers of the outfit and you'll get less coverage. HM's store has more like that.

Wait, I see outfits all the time without shoulder coverage. The new X-Fashion Embrioidery Style that was just released doesn't cover the shoulders. Is that actually a recommendation for the PAs here now?

But yeah, clever surface creation can offer something for both fans of practical wear and skimpywear. Put hard-edged flourishes or designs that cover the nipples on the chest of a dress or tunic as a separate material and it suddenly appeals to a wider audience.

Haha, DAZ will never implement soft-body dynamics into Studio as long as everyone will impulse-buy any product that even remotely increases the chance of being able to squish breasts with more realism.   ;)

In fairness, anyone who's proper serious about that sort of thing likely already owns higher-density grafts from a certain other store that do a better job, include more content, and are cheaper to boot. ;) Some of us also wish the vendor would supplement a certain female product with an equivalent male one. They could call it, oh, I dunno, Pectacular. Maybe Chestacular, to avoid confusion with the sPECtacular morphs. (An update/expansion that uses the same tech for a certain male product from the same vendor would also be neat.)

I bought Grasp Helper for interactions with furniture and poses that involve gripping pressure or just gravity-related indentations, and haven't been all that impressed. Maybe a future update will help but for now it doesn't feel nearly refined enough to handle more rigorous interactions, especially with the inadequate G8 mesh. That or I'm just terrible at using it, which is also very possible/probable, lol.

Anyway, skimpwear. I think I've acquired an unwarranted reputation for disliking skimpwear as a whole; I actually just hate when the majority (and sometimes all) of the options for traditionally protective and practical outfits come with thongs and stripper heels and zero protection, since I do need practical stuff quite a bit and having few choices makes me sad.

In reality, I buy quite a lot of skimpy things, mostly for conversion to male use, and own lots of sheer shaders for a reason. ;) One of my all time favorite pieces for the guys is the sci-fi clamp brief that comes with SickleYield's Genre Undergarments for G2M. It's wildly impractical and I love it, but haven't had a lot of luck getting it nicely onto G8M and would buy an upgrade in a heartbeat. That and stuff like the Secret Jewelry available at Rendo but designed for men. I'd love suggestions for skimpwear that converts well and either has separate upper and lower pieces, or comes with good surfacing so tops can be hidden (the breast-to-pec conversion never goes well and I have a mixed harem to outfit for a project).

I guess if you want really skimpy, you could always just go with body chains (and Sshodan's stuff is on sale). And there are always Jepe's various Body Jewels sets, of course. Just metal, glue, and prayers all the way down. I think they topped out at Genesis 2, but they were made for both male and female figures which was really nice. I want to pick up the Genesis 2 versions but keep missing any sale they're a part of, somehow.

The Giselle outfit reminds me of this one: https://www.sharecg.com/v/83406/view/21/DAZ-Studio/The-Jeweled-One-Outfit-G3F

It should, they're both by me!  I love minimal fantasy clothing for both sexes, in fact.  It's Daz that doesn't love it any more, lol.  My problems with skimpwear come when the female version is much less practical than the male, like the male one is a nearly-historical armor and the female version has cleavage and heels?  I pretty much like things to be all the way Morphing Fantasy Armor or all the way Genre Undergarments (a set Daz3d would no more approve today than they would Mystic Giselle).  I know that's not the norm, but it's what I like personally.  I even go back occasionally and work on some more "Impractical" sets for Genesis 8 that would just be ludicrous on both sexes, but I can't sell them at Daz and they wouldn't pay back enough anywhere else to justify the effort, so they're on the shelf a lot.

I've thought about doing a Patreon, but like.  I'm very live and let live about adult content I'm not personally into, but I worry that signing up there would just result in a LOT more requests for stuff I don't want to work on.

How about a coffee shop bikini barista girl outfit set? The type of style that sells $25 cups of coffee. Google this if you've never seen one :)

A suitable coffee shop/hut for her to work in would be nice to have also.

If Roman-themed stuff has been successful... Well, the Romans need suitable opponents, IMO, and while there's a lot of "barbaric" sets for those unfortunates who live in the barbaricum, there's always room for more barbarian skimpwear. (Err, ah, "historically" accurate and whatever kind of barbarian stuff.)

I like all the new Roman stuff, the little bit of new Egyptian stuff, but some Gallic-inspired outfits might be cool. (We got all those cool barbarian billboard people recently...)
Or maybe back a few generations to Alexander... his armies, his opponents, and also into the Diadochi period/the successor wars
Or maybe Hannibal's diverse armies against the Legions of the Roman Republic. And ALWAYS more Egyptian stuff (which also tends to push the skimpwear boundary a little more than other outfits, thank Osiris). Especially more of Egypt during the Ptolmeic dynasty (blending into Alexander's period), which is not very well represented.

Historical-ish skimpwear seems to work relatively well here, IMO, despite the Store Nanny.
