I do wish he had eyebrows.
I'm not into merfolk, but I'd imagine people who are would be over the moon for him.
Looks good, scars are good, tail is interesting...
Kind of an older guy? Old and beat up. Almost looks tired in some of the promo shots... world-weary. Put straight hair on him and he could be Thulsa-Doom (not James Earl Jones, though, but the weary look kind of fits).
Overall, he has the look of a villain, IMO. I don't get a heroic vibe from him. Not every POC character needs to be a hero.
Mer-people have always been interesting to me, but I probably have used them less than I ever used Centaur stuff. And I barely use the Centaur stuff. One of those themes that are great in theory and less than great when I think through what I need to do with it.
With the coupon, and putting both bundles into the cart, it goes down to $22 and $16. I like the sea theme, but it probably would go ununsed.
He's one of my favorites so far, especially as a human. I do wish that amazing hairstyle was included in the bundle, though--I wouldn't be torn about getting the bundle if the hair used in virtually all the promo images came with it.
I haven't gotten any coupons, so I am waiting. I actually am more inclined to simply use him as a man, so I may buy his base.
No interest in this so far, but I'm really hoping one of the upcoming bundles come with a neat underwater scene - that's something I definitely could use.
I think he looks great! He has a strong, distinctive look and the promos are impressive.
He's not necessarily for me, I don't do merfolk and I'm not super in need of a slightly older black warrior guy (I already have Scar, Niko, and Joseph by Phoenix1966). But I do think he's obviously very well made. I'd pick him over Leroy.

Pretty tepid response here on the forum. Yes, male/black/older characters generally draw less attention but I also think it has to do with him not getting a fancy ZALE 8.1!!! banner. I remember White Priestess also not getting that much attention - at least initially - and she's female/white/younger, but she too didn't get a banner featuring her name. How easily we're led!
Good addition. He's like a cross between Woody Strode and Lance Reddick, but his head morph looks like it'll need some help from another morph (not Sanjay) to reach realism, and the scarless skin looks too smooth, like pre-"PBR" non-Core Figure smooth. Perhaps a better normals map (maybe M8.1's or Torment's) will help him out. Male Core Figures should include eyebrows. There's no excuse for that.

Honestly I would of preferred His/Her traditional mermaid tails as done with the G2F toon character Callie 6 called Little Mermaid for Callie 6. I understand the PAs wanting to be original though and the products are good. My budget is too limited to indulge myself more 3D variety though.
Sans the fish mermaid stuff the human character is OK but a typical American emboidement of a roided up athelete and I don't buy any non-toon characters anymore anyway unless really nearly PC+ cheap to keep my number of morphs installed low as I can. Slows down DS too much.
What I will eventually buy separate in the two bundles: the undersea set, the under the seas props (clams with pearls and so on), and the cornrow hair set. I have not much overlap with those products in my library.
I'm not a fan of either of the two varieties of mermaid tails supplied. I will autofit, or export and turn into a sleeping sack style piece of clothing, the more traditional Lil' Mermaid for Callie 6 fish tail instead. If, on steep discount later, I will likely buy these new mermaid tails favoring the eel like mermaid tail over the weirdly skeleton looking mermaid tail.
I think he looks better mixed with Torment too.
I think his tail is way too long and I would have preferred if it was more of a traditional fish tail. The other tail is ok except it's just too narrow. It makes the figure look sickly somehow since there's not enough volume to the tail to match what should be there in the figure. Hope that made sense. LOL

I like Zale. It's a shame that there's no banner for him, though (for me, that is).
I have the 20% off coupon code as a result of the earlier thing this month (the 20% off the next Pro bundle), I think... except there's no such thing as Pro Bundles?
I don't think there's any other discount other than the self-contained discount for putting both bundles into your cart.

I kind of like the human version of the base character, but the worm/eel tail creeps me out. Undecided on this one.
I got offered an extra 20% off if I bought both bundles, but I don't need monsters. No discount for adding the texture pack for the tail unless I pick up the HD addon as well. No offers tied to a GC either.
I like the character and most of the stuff in the main bundle, but since I'm not really getting any discounts anyway, I can wait until I see if there's a follow-up offer tomorrow,.
Came out to about $40 and & 20 for me. No banner. Will wait for a better sale. I rarely render males anyway, But I’m sure buyers of this will get a discount on the female version which I’ll probably want but I already have several mermaids I haven’t used yet.,,
I'm getting the tails and the props. Neither the character nor the "eel tale" excite me, but I also didn't get any extra discounts. Always happy to get new mer things though!
I had two coupons, one hidden and didn't know about it. Got both bundles and the HD and the PC+ freebie today. It made most sense financially.
I really love Zale. I see a man who has lived life, been beat up and come back better than ever. I started with the base character, used the scar mat without the eyebrows, added some fibermesh ones, then hair, clothes and ... you know the drill. And while I messed with the lights I added the HD morph by the slider. Even though I have lights in his eyes, they are dark and I am going with it. This highlighted his sculpt.

This is the first male bundle I have not received a coupon for. Strange. I am still waiting and will see what surfaces tomorrow.. (No fish pun intended.)
That's the stuff included in the bundle malarkey. It seems weird for them to have done that, because there's nothing abotu the figure, tiself, to suggest anything aquatic-based.
The figure, itself, has nothing to do with merfolk or water.
Thank you @Serene Night. This guy is a keeper, and even if you have to wait for the sales during the fall/winter, he will be worth it. The skin is gorgeous.
Someone asked and I thought I'd check...does the clamshell close? You know for the diver in peril imagery?
I really like the human version of the character.
Merman version is quite different from what we usually see, which I find interesting. Not sure it's something I'll ever use though.
I didn't buy the last bundle that they said they'd give us a discount on the next one for, but I am a loyal customer and spend a lot here, like most folks, and I think they should've given us a discount regardless. I'm really disappointed I didn't have a coupon for this bundle.
There was a cartoon when I was a kid that had a pearl diver get their foot caught in such a giant clam and I've been afraid of them since. I can't remember the cartoon but it probably was a 60s series.
