    Sorry, just back to my computer after fixing a disaster at dinner and cleaning it up. Try a new recipe and sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Sigh.

    Loaded up the clam shell, with and without the pearl and no, no movements at all. Looks like a static prop.

    Could someone who is clever with the geometry editor divide it at the hinge and close it?

    If the top part and the bottom are separate surfaces, one might be able to load two clams and hide the top of of one clam and the bottom of the other clam (with opacity slider), and fake it.

    I picked up the base figure and used the pc club coupon bringing him to 16 dollars. The deal is not that great and I'm lukewarm about buying mermen even though they are cool. It's just a bit niche.

    I've looked everywhere and can't find that hairstyle either here or on other sites that sell Daz stuff. I've found similar ones, but they're shoulder-length. Really bummed out that the hair featured in all but two promo images isn't part of the bundles or released at all. I'm holding out hope it'll come out... it's such a great hairstyle!

    Some test renders for ya'll. Originally I was a bit meh on the skin texture, but then I ran some comparison renders next to my other favourite characters and realised it's actually pretty marvelous, I'm just spolit.. Defs the best dark male skin I have (and I have a few!).

    These are Zale out of the box, except for his eyebrows, which I hated and replaced with some generic ones, and there's one a bit further down where I played with his normals. I don't have his HD.

    ^ Next to Jada 8.1

    ^Next to Leroy, becuase someone mentioned him. Here, I also dragged Zale's normal slider up some ungodly amount, just to see. The texture artist clearly had to make some hard decisions, but I think they went with the best option.

    ^I thought Trance 8.1 would hold up better next to Zale, but nope. Zale's normals back down to factory settings here.

    ^Next to some white dude. (Also the render hung at 99%). Sorry about the cheap hair.

    Depending on the price Daz is offering you, the Zale and Sea Villain bundles might be worth purchasing even if you aren't especially impressed with Zale and the sea-themed items.

    Bonus bundles that can be chosen include:

    Dragon Girl Bundle (G8) This is more-or-less a Pro bundle featuring a Mousso character, a Stonemason environment, two outfits, two hairs, etc. $134.95 sticker price.

    Livin' the Dream Bundle (G8) $115.95 sticker price.

    Lovable Nerds Bundle (G3) $109.95 sticker price.

    Out to Dinner Bundle (G3) $99.95 sticker price.

    and many others. Order the list by price and filter for generations of interest - you might be surprised. Don't be distracted by the numerous Starter bundles on offer (unless you really want them, of course) - the list includes some of Daz's best "non-core" bundles.

    Long-time customers might have the bulk of the selectable bundles that interest them, but for others, two of these for around $40 might be a pretty good deal, with the new sea bundles being the bonus rather than the main attraction.

    If Daz support issues the credit that I requested for the missing Fourth of July coupon, I'll be happy with the deal, and I'm not even using 8.1 yet.

    I also spent over an hour searching here and on the other site for the long dreds and didn't find them. Maybe they are a G8 hair and coming out with the female version of Zale 8?

    But I did find that Samsil seems to have added 'new' content for older generations, as well as more hair for G8, I had not seen before, so I have more on my wishlist over there now. It is tough to be good when a budget is set. But the dog goes in for dental cleaning today and an ultra sound. Bills...

    I suspect the hair will be released with coral the female mermaid they mention in another thread.that follows the pattern of making unisex hair that vendors have been doing lately.

    I know I didn't qualify for that... just the 20% for the spending thing earlier in the month.

    I have basically all the Pro bundles. Maybe it's the bundles that aren't built around a "base character"? I know my collection of those isn't as comprehensive.

    Ditto. Me too. Great question. But what is very concerning is DAZ doesn't know I own JANE so how can they know who deserves a coupon. And it's happening for multiple products. I'm may buy it and submit a ticket but I'm finding the help center isn't what it used to be. So we'll see. OR, I may wait for these guys with the ears that comliment Naia. Maybe a new release? I can live with gilled ribs sans neck.

    Not saying (Owned) next to the required product doesn't necessarily mean they don't know you own the character, it's more likely that that bit of code is wrong but the system clearly does know what you actually own here.

    @sid Thanks from me too! My test render reveals that his lashes are too light, but he looks better w/ the default settings and a headlamp than he does in his product page promos. His skin leaves Leroy and Silas sad.

    I think his tail is way too long and I would have preferred if it was more of a traditional fish tail. The other tail is ok except it's just too narrow. It makes the figure look sickly somehow since there's not enough volume to the tail to match what should be there in the figure. Hope that made sense. LOL

    I don't think I've seen it mentioned yet, but Zale's tail comes with a morph (Tail Length) that lets you shorten (or lengthen it). :-)
