I hope it's going to stay available for re-downloads. I have some of those alien characters bought.
I'd certainly hope so. Hopefully someone will clear that aspect up soon.
EDIT: I checked my products and the Marcius products still show as downloadable.
Part of his chars seem to be available at renderhub.
I really hope he didn't leave Daz. Was he upset because of NFT?
Edited to remove link
I hope they didn't leave, that would be very upsetting to have all that content be cut without a warning so that we could make purchases before the departure.
I totally loved his style and wanted to learn how to render portraits like in his promo pics. So inspiring!
The Daz policy has always been that if you bought it here you can download it from here even if the vendor leaves or the product is retired, as far as I know that has not changed (I have quite a bit of old stuff that you can no longer buy available in my product library) so you shouldn't have to worry about that side of the issue.
A lot of his products have been in the PC for a day and clearance sales recently. There was a lot of content for great prices, but maybe there's some connection there as to why his store is gone. Although, we have seen this type of thing happen before when DAZ buys up a PAs library as well. Hopefully we'll get some more information about it eventually.
Didn't we come to conclusion that DAZ's clearance sale are not guarantee that items will be removed? Though
Thats odd, you buy up a PA's content and orphan all their product pages. I hope thats the case, wouldn't mind getting his content under Daz discounts.
Some of the items that he used to sell here are in the Renderhub store. That seems to make it unlikely that his products have been bought by Daz; while they don't demand that vendors stay exclusive to the Daz storefront, they do require that products are exclusive to here. (That said, when they've bought out other vendors, they have in fact orphaned the product pages while those pages were being revised and the products re-released, as with Protozoon's stuff.)
I'm honestly kind of surprised that the one product that's still in his store is still there. I wonder if that was an oversight?
Could a mod inquire what happened and tell us, please?
But it is not really in the store. Clicking on it goes to the OOPS page.
Could be the reason they bailed, all the insane deals DAZ has must be hard on making it worthwhile to be a PA.
Most of his products were uploaded yesterday, and many of them use the same promo images from the Daz Shop. Even on sale, they're all $6, thrice the $1.99 sale price.
That was a thought I had as well. There are other factors we don't know though. For example, I wonder if DAZ asks permission before including a PA in a sale like that. If so, that's a very generous offer by the PA. And if DAZ doesn't have to ask, maybe they choose by the number of sales. Perhaps the products are only included if they are under a set threshold. That could mean they weren't selling well here anyway. It's hard not to speculate, but I hope someone in-the-know will be able to share the details soon.
As far as I know all things like PC For a Day require the PA to opt in, and I think to select the products to be offered.

I realise it's tempting, but please, let us not indulge in a flurry of speculation.
Well, now I know where some other things went. ;)
Ok, well based on your interactions on the site, you would probably be in the know if they were gone or not and since you haven't hinted at that, I'll remain hopefull of a positive outcome.
I did notice that; the last PA i noticed that happening to was Protozoon and it turned out his products were bought by Daz and later released as Daz Originals. Fortunately by that time I was only missing 2 of his products and was later able to snag both at good prices.
The above was an observation which may or may not be relevant to this situation
As Richard said, deep discount products are opt-in or very old.
As mentioned, Daz3D requires exclusivity for all products sold, and two days ago this PA uploaded a bunch of formerly Daz-exclusive figures to a third-party website. I think it's safe to say they're gone.
He could have told us on FB, IMO, his FB even still leads to DAZ.
Not entirely correct. The 21st Century Girl Outfit is available from multiple stores - here, Renderosity, RenderHub.

From the breadth of the recent Clearance sales, it's pretty clear that DAZ is in the process of a major purge of the catalog, so I expect that many of the PAs will be gone by the time it's over.
That is not the point of those sales and no, no purge is planned.
Er... are you saying that these aren't really clearance sales and the verbiage about "last chance to purchase" on many of them isn't accurate? Because I've been looking at what's been going through there and, if all that product will be removed from the store, there are more than few of PAs who will no longer have anything in the store.
You may be thinking of the Vault sales, which do specify that the featured items will soon become unavailable. None of the currently active clearance sales say any such thing.
Darn, I had a couple characters from Marcius on my wishlist. I guess that's what I get for waiting. They haven't showed up in the new location yet either
