This is so confusing and it could be solved if you would number your software updates like normal people do. 4.15.0.25? come on just call it 4.16 and call it a day. Ive got the install manager open and it says 4.15 and it won't install now which 4.15 is it? It doesnt say beta anywhere. does it not install because I dont have Big Sur yet because I've been waiting for a year to install because their was no update for Daz. I know this software is free but come on. Why is this not more straight forward. I guess I'll update to Big Sur and roll the dice to see what happens.
Sounds like you have the released version, not the beta. The released version won't run on Big Sur. The entries in DIM look like this:
(You may have to open that to see the whole thing - the screenshot is wide and not very tall.)
Both the release and the beta are 4.15, the beta is just a bug fix to 4.15. 4.16 would be a new minor release with significant UI/API/other changes. I'm guessing this won't happen - the next release with be 5.minor.x.y using Qt5.
Thanks for this beta!
It was not easy, but I found the way to install that
Daz Studio 4.15 Pro Public Build Mac Pro render time 3 minutes
I've been trying for days, and I get Install Failed! I've tried searching for a step-by-step way to accomplish it, but I must be doing something wrong; now that I've tried a few times, I don't really know whether I have messed things up with previous attempts or whether I'm still just missing something. So it's hard to know now how to move forward. I'm pretty new to Daz, and so I'm unsophisticated in much of the tech understanding of how such things are handled or fixed.
I tried again just now and got the same Install Failed! status in the Install Manager. I'm on an iMac M1 and want very badly to be able to work from it, so I'm hoping perhaps someone will take pity on me and help me iron it out. I'll post below from the Helper Log with the view that maybe it will be more apparent to you than it is to me what I'm not doing correctly.
Thank you sincerely in advance.

Those are for the non-Beta
Installing and using the Beta version starts with 'purchasing'
https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta
The page also has instructions for installing
Thanks very much for answering. I did go through the process of "purchasing." I don't know why I'm not getting the intended results, and I'm not sure what to do next to fix it.
Have you updated your DIM or downloaded the latest version?
https://www.daz3d.com/install-manager-info
I thought I had, but at this point, I'm not sure. Would you advise that I uninstall whatever I have now and reinstall (which I've considered)? Should I uninstall everything and begin again (all my assets etc. also)?
And thank you again, PerttiA — I really appreciate it.
Got rid of everything, redownloaded both DIM and a repurchased DS. And tried reinstalling, but still got "Install Failed!" message on both DAZ Studio 4.15 as well as the Postgre SQL thing.

I hope not too late for asking some request about DAZ Studio 5 feature . I would love to see these feature implemented in future version of DAZ
1. Remove depedency between Mesh Resolution/Sub D object in Viewport and Final Render . So we can have better performance when building scene but get Hirez in Render session without making crashes
2. LOD version of G3 G8 and G8.1 Family
3. Emission and Bloom in Filament
Where can I find the downloads for the Dim and Studio downloads that work in Mac? I have been searching. Its frustrating. A link should be provided here in the forums to make it easier for beginners.
Viewport and render do already have separate settings so I'm not sure what you mean.
As I understand it LoD is not supported by DSON, though it works during a session. Adding LoDs for those figues would be a content feature, not a DS feature.
Thanks @richard for reply , yeah after your reply I`m trying with simple Box and indeed those already works !
I misjudged because I dont see the differences when using mid or hi poly model
About LOD , yeah I agree thats content`s feature rather than app`s feature

That is not the beta version that's compatible with BigSur
@DAZ_Rawb and whoever all is working on D/S5 -- please be sure that after sending something from it over the bridge to Hexagon [initiating Hexagon in the process] - that when D/S is closed that D/S does NOT also close Hexagon. Thank you. The present editions do.
I'm on Big Sur 11.5.2 and still get a screen of death crash when I try to start newly installed Daz Studio 4.15.0.2.
If this is not the correct version for Big Sur, I sure can't seem to find it.
Have you 'bought' the beta version?
https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-beta
Okay, I was an idiot: didn't realize I was trying to install the official release and not the beta!
Downloaded it, but still DIM refused to install. I expanded the .zip file in the download directory, copied the whole folder under the usual application folder and started the beta. It seems to be working (just opened it, I'll have to set the preferences).
The CMS seemed to install, at the end, but can't remember how I worked it out
Yea, I did everything and it's still failing to install. This is beyond fustrating.
This is really GOOD NEWS! I just installed 4.15.0.26 Beta and it works on my Mac Big Sur with latest mcOS Big Sur 11.5.2 update. The only thing that is NOT working at the moment is the GOZ plugin. I did install the GOZ Beta plugin but seems it's still associate to the old dylib files. I hope you release a fix soon. Thanks
I'm running Mac OS Catalina, 10.15.7, on an Intel 2013 Macintosh Pro, and DAZ Studio 4.15.0.2. Will this new Public Beta (4.15.0.25) run on my computer? Also, can I install the Public Beta alongside my present version of DS, or will it replace my present version? I'm always a bit cautious because of unforseen problems that may pop up with a new version. Does the new version just have "stability fixes in it," and no new bugs?
The beta should works, and installs alongside the general release so you have both.
I'm having a content issue with the beta: I need to use the contents that reside on a case-unsensitive hard disk, an USB one connected to another computer, that's shared with the M1 Mac Mini. I've been able to map the Daz Directories on that disk in the Content Database Manager, but when browsing the libraries (both on Smart Connect and on Content Library panes) the external hd isn't showing subdirectories and contents. The hd and its subfolder are shared and permissions are allowing reading and writing for everyone, so I guess the issue is with the beta. Any clues on how to solve it?
Are you absolutely sure the volume isn't case sensitive? Things get really confusing if is, at least they do on Windows:
The first file contains the text "case", the second one contains the text "CASE" and I can open them on Windows by double clicking and see that they are two different files, but I can't actually create them from Windows and I can't open "CASE.txt" from an application file-open dialog (at least not notepad); I always get the lower case file. The disk drive in question is a Synology NAS accessed via Samba, I created the files by logging in to the NAS. Daz Studio seems to lower case path names in some cases but not others. I've run DIM with the downloads directory on such a drive but I don't think I've ever tried putting CMS on such a drive. DIM just follows the capitalization in the zip archive and Windows attempts to map everything to lower case but I believe (based on comments in another thread) that things will be different in Mac OS, particularly with Qt, since the native OS supports case-sensitive path names.
Thank you for the attention!
Yes, the content drive is surely not case-sensitive (I expressely disabled this option when prepared it for Daz because I was aware of this kind of problems). It's case-sensitive the M1 one where the Daz app and CMS database reside; I entered the mapped directoriers path by selecting them in the window of the system browser.
