So another haunted manor exterior but...

in The Commons
Don't get me wrong, Hypertaf products are usually of high quality but...do content creators have something about producing the interior of these things? By my counts now we have at least 5: the just released Blackwood Manor (www.daz3d.com/blackwood-manor), Grimwood Manor and Albert Mansion here, plus another 2 complete creepy manor exteriors in that other store. All five of them for Iray.
Meanwhile, if you want to create something that may pass as an interior scene with a classical/gothic feeling for those, your best choice are still the -non Iray, somewhat old but excellent- Barlow house sets by The Management, or the reaaally ancient Haunted Mansion set. Doesn't that sound a bit unbalanced?

There are some really fantastic interiors you can use for haunted house interiors, both here and at the other store. The problem is YOU CAN'T SEARCH PROPERLY FOR ANYTHING. It's REALLY frustrating DAZ! WHY DON'T YOU FIX THE SEARCH FUNCTION DAZ?
There's Harwood House. In the right lighting, looks very spooky, inside and out ;). And it's Iray.
I believe it is being worked on, but I'm not 100% positive.
There is also this free model of the Bates House which includes interiors: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/439012/halloween-norman-bates-house-from-the-movie-psycho/p1
So the answer is "soon, maybe".
There are "gothic'" interiors, and "fallen" texure sets for other interiors, and "abandoned" interiors.
Contact the PA?
I don't have the product, but depending on how they are constructed and their intended purpose, there could be potential for future add-ons that add furnishings and other options for the interior.
Long Island Mansion - also Iray
Harwood is without a doubt an outstanding set with great details, excellent as you say for spooky XX century renders...but it would be difficult to make it pass as a gothic/victorian interior, specially for a mansion of that size. I probably was thinking of something along the lines of (hopefully links allowed in this case):
https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/mansion-hall
https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/abandoned-mansions-fully-modular-asset-pack
I guess that sometimes I'm simply a bit baffled by the decisions of the vendors when it comes to making a new product. While we have huge gaps on the enviroments available in the store (specially historical ones) I just saw the other day one of my favourite creators release an oasis...which again makes it the third one, and that just counting the Iray products.
The images at those links can be accomplished with DAZ content. You need some shaders that make surfaces look old and worn and apply them to everything in your interior.
Turn out all the lights, and then selectively light things to create the mood. Use "atmosphere" to give the effect of dust or gloom.
Pull the drawers out of the furniture and throw them on the floor. Take the cushions off the furniture and make them all crooked or upended. Mess the books up on the shelves. Throw debris on the floor. Pull the curtains down. Add cobwebs.

I hope no one minds me jumping in- I'm doing something now where I am looking for interiors for something like these haunted mansions and would love to know what all you all have found too. The Long Island mansion, Bates freebie (so well done!), and the Harwood were already mentioned, but there is also the Antebellum one that has interiors

Any others that might fit the gothic/victorian/mansion/haunted vibe?
Are you looking for exteriors of houses or interior rooms, furnished or unfurnished?

Thank you- I'm going to go check those out. I think I have my exterior (but Blackwood manor is tempting me) but I would love to see some interiors that could fit it, especially separated ones but in general would love to see what gems you all know about. Still open to exteriors though as the Bates is lovely but resource heavy it seems and this haunted mansion at Rend (https://www.renderosity.com/rr/mod/bcs/?ViewProduct=151065) has a porch I really like- so torn on which I'll end up going with :)
While i agree there are things that go undeveloped when others get duplicated over and over again, you do have to keep in mind that a modeler/PA mindset is very different from a users mindset. A user will ask for this detail and that to be modeled along with interiors, doors that open, windows that open, fully furnished, etc. The modeler will look at the time they have to complete the project based on the other projects in the pipeline, and the estimate of the return on their time invested over what they think they might make from it, actual usage of the products is much lower on the list.

Oh wow, Fauvist- when you deliver you go all out. I'm bookmarking this thread- thank you all- keep em coming if you don't mind. A lot of these somehow missed my radar.
They missed your radar because there's no way to find them using the SEARCH function of the store. I knew how to find them because I already bought all of them.
Collective3D has "Create a Room" set that would a good way to get the setting you want without a lot of extra stuff in the scene that bogs it down. You could mix and match to load up just what's needed.

Actually, as listed, Collective 3d has a number of vignettes which look like interior and exterior shots of the same thing. That porch with the bay window looks like it matches both the Victorian parlor and the derelict drawing room. Very useful for interior and exterior scenes, but none of those three are complete structures. As labeled, they are movie sets. No problem with ending up with a camera inside the opposite wall.
Cofleck-gnorg over on rendo has some useful interior rooms of the right general type and vintage as well. So does AppleJack. Their stuff is usually for Poser, so might need shaders, but mainly the issue is trying to get something where the windows match up to the model you are using for the exterior.
And the height of the ceilings.
Yeah, that too.
Renderosity has a new Haunted House today, which includes an interior.
Meshbox over at Renderosity has a Haunted Mansion that has both interior and exterior.. But I do agree it can be annoying when you see an awesome building / house and think cool only to find out that it has no interior.. The thing is that the building / house does not really need to be furnished as most can do that, but to have an interior that is a part of the buidling / house would always be cool..
most of the time though you only need 2 walls and a floor or ceiling depending on camera angle and some furniture.
Photographers and cinematographers manage with that so why can't 3D render artists?
