    It is trivial for a Black Friday, because it's not unusual to see DAZ Originals with that kind of discount throughout the year and those discounts happen often enough. In my opinion this should have been a coupon that either included all vendors - not just DAZ Originals - or it should have been a lower (but stacking) discount. Guess actually everything would have been better than what is currently offered. The current one just alienate customers imo.

    I would be happy if it just stacked with the DAZ+ benefit of 30% off Daz originals.  Would have made me pull the trigger on the cart I have built.  You are right that 72-73% off is a great deal, but an additional coupon being put out as an early Black Friday deal on the same day that I can get the same items at pretty much the same price (going from 72% to 73% off) makes the coupon seem point less and a bit of an insult.  Enough so that I didnt purchase my cart that I probably would have if there wasn't a coupon.  I'm sure Daz missed out on many more sales than mine because of the frustation over the lack of a real extra discount from the coupon, especially for those in Daz's most loyal group, Daz+..

    :sigh: First the coupon didn't work, then worked so little I decided it just wasn't worth the bother. Guess that'll teach me to get excited when I see an orange banner. On the plus side, I DID save 100% by emptying my cart.

    Richard, 73% is a great discounted price!  However, that's not the issue customers are having.

    As someone who's worked a face-to-face customer service job for over a decade, the company has to be quite clear on it's discounting practices.  Where I used to work, electrics were 10% off, while the rest of the store was 15% with the average coupon.  Customers would get irritated when I told them it was 10% on electrics when it clearly said 15% on the front.  I had to inform them it was "on the back, third line down in the center".  They looked at it and understood the "devil was in the details".

    DAZ didn't do that with this sale.  And I've seen them write before, "all other discounts do not apply" before.  That is the source of customer irritation.  And DAZ does have a history of stacking discounts.  DAZ really did mess up with the promotion of this flash sale.

    It's not only the communication but also the implementation, because now I have to be careful and double check all the prices from the cart because a lot of them will have a higher price when applying the coupon. So I have to remove them from the cart and buy them separately, an action that is not only annoying but also a waste of time and makes no sense, they should simply apply the highest discount on that item, not the latest applied, it's like two lines of code...

    I guess I agree with what mosts have to  say about this sale since anything can go on sale for a seemingly random amount that either does or does not stack at the whim of who ever made the sale with or without fine print notification its to stressful to shop for a "good or Great deal" so I guess I am just looking for something I actually need to improve my library and honestly that is not much. Most stuff coming out is a rehash of older consepts, though some are very good I will say, just much more mony than I want to spend when I have already a "sci fi hallway".. New plugins are still interesting  but then I'm not so sure if they will work with DS5.

    I understand the 65% off with Thankful for You promotion (30% off for Daz+ member * 50% off from the promotion)

    I understand the 72% off with additional purchase of New Release (30% off for Daz+ member * 60% off from the promotion)

    But 73% off with coupon? Shouldn't it be 30% off * 70% off = 79% off?frown
     

    *Edit: I think I get it now. The 73% off is from (60%-50%=)10% off from the promotion * 70% off from the coupon

    the DO discount disappeared for some reason (Thx Captainalvord)

    But who on earth would do direct addition/subtraction when calculating total discount?

    The formula is so messed upindecision

    I'd like to echo what's been said already -- the coupon not working in the expected manner is a strong disincentive for me to *not* purchase anything.

    I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around the Ebenezeri bundle sales. At first, I was thinking of getting the Mega Bundle but decided against it—the separate orange banner codes, the out-of-place texture pack, the Day-One discount that applied then didn't apply—so I thought I'd just get the Scrooge 8.1 Bundle instead. I like the base figure, the outfits, the environment.

    So I looked more closely at the sales for the invidual bundles. I can't see any individual discount for buying The Scrooge 8.1 Bundle or Ghosts of Christmas Bundle separately. You do get $25 of DO freebies but no discount on the bundle or addons. The sale page states:

    Buy the Scrooge 8.1 Bundle and the Ghosts of Christmas Bundle
    PLUS 2+ Christmas Add-Ons to get an EXTRA 20% OFF* all of them

    That works out to... 

    The Scrooge 8.1 Bundle ~ $43.50
    Ghosts of Christmas Bundle ~ $66.62
    dForce Men's Victorian Nightclothes Textures ~ $6.26
    dForce Timeless Carol Outfit Textures ~ $5.86
    ----
    $122.24

    Normally the sales give a small discount for either bundle, a medium discount for both, and the best disounct for the mega-bundle if there is one.

    I find this so bizarre. Buying the Mega Bundle and 2 new releases is cheaper than buying the individual bundles together with 2 Add-ons. That's obviously the point of the Mega Bundle. You also get more freebies and a deeper discount with the orange banner.

    A Christmas Carol Mega Bundle ~ $100.34
    Predatron Yucca Spanish Bayonet Trees ~ $2.79
    Sumptuous Metallic Tile Shader Builder ~ $3.49
    ---
    Total $106.62

     

    So why even have a discount for buying the bundles together. Who would choose this option over the Mega-Bundle, paying more for less? Am I missing something?

    Oh come on DAZ, it is getting stupid. Once the coupon was released gift cards had not been excluded. Had a cart with some products and a gift card in it with the coupon. Then suddenly the coupon went away and I was not able to re-apply it. Then I found the small print changed which does now exclude gift cards.

    Stop changing conditions on the fly.

    Stop doing this multiple coupon thing which gives people hardly a chance to use their monthly ones.

    Stop inventing more and more sales which do include some and exclude some items an a hard to understand basis.

    I'm really thinking on spending my money elsewhere.

    I had items in my cart from yesterday that were 72 percent off... Became 80 with the coupon. A few minutes ago and Daz Originals have also changed to 65 percent off so now only 75 percent with the coupon. So the big 30 percent off saves me an odd dollar today....I'll just dump my cart and spend elsewhere

    It is trivial for Daz Originals, actually. That might sound harsh, but that's on Daz for their history of sales having conditioned customers to expect higher discounts.

    Barring immediate needs (or strong want) for a particular item, why would customers buy at 50, 60, or 70% discounts when they've seen better discounts countless times before? When Daz might offer 90% discounts on a whim next week, customers are reasonably hesitant to buy non-essentials at lower discounts.

    Even today, with Daz Originals seemingly topping out at 80% off, I'm thinking: "These G8 bundles have been cheaper in the past. I think I'll spend the bulk of my BF money at sites offering meaningful discounts instead."

    If I shove a new release in again they are back to 80% lol so my cart is filling up again lol... I'll stop complaing today.

    Are there new releases today? Or does the banner just mean any new release?

    Edited: OK, I see new releases are MetaMixer. But if you have the HD add-in, I assume you don't need the extra MetaMixer bit. Or am I wrong? I usually am.

    Doesn't help that one of my disc drives is borked so Daz is off limits until I have time to work on it.

    So does the coupon work one time or mutliple times?

    I'm really undecided whether I will purchase anything over the weekend. This whole back and forth during the last days really cooled downy any shopping enthusiam on my side. Had hoped for any additional saving on the Scrooge Mega Bundle - but that one stays at $80 best. And the "get 30% off your entire purchase"* has a far too big asterix as it is not the entire purchase once new releases, gift cards, fast grab etc. are excluded. Plus everything is couponbased making any combination impossible.

    Well, my 2 TB external SSD cannot hold my whole library from DAZ and others stores anyway so I'm constantly installing/uninstalling stuff. Guess I'll focus a bit more on what I have already than new stuff then.
