So I submitted a ticket to Daz3D.com CS via Zendesk fourteen days ago, and have yet to receive a response. Ticket is still open.
Most other places I shop respond within 24 hours, to acknowledge that they've received my inquiry if nothing else.
I just double checked all release from 2021-11-29, 2021-11-28 and 2021-11-27 do not get the New Release discount.
Intro period is two weeks, always has been, when you get an extra 30% off (sometimes higher during special events). "New" is for two months, and they do not qualify for any other discounts. After that, they can be part of normal sales promotions.
Thanks for clearing that up, I mistakenly assumed the "New" tag was the indicator for the discount.
The carousel for the dollar deals was corrected to the correct content. You purchase a new release over $1 to get the discount on this category.
The storewide sale "shop now" button goes to the front page as everything in the store works with the DECKTHEHALLS coupon. Up to 10 items. Everything, with the exception of Fast Grab, gets an extra 20% discount.
In the new promo, the "Incredible New Releses" is not triggering the loyalty discount. It is not marked as "Today Only", so either it should trigger the discount or it should be marked accordingly.
The "Introducing Clara 8.1 and her Bundles" goes to an error page
Sending an inquiry.
Will report.
I think it must be wrong really because it's said to be an EXTRA 20% off - but without the loyalty discount, many new items in the category don't have any discount at all. Also, this special offer would actually be worse than many people's loyalty discount of 25%.
Just a reminder, the loyalty discount for the items in the 'Incredible New Releases' group still does not seem to be fixed. I wanted to buy the Zeus cat but the discount is just 20% coming from the coupon. Please do fix this asap, it's already closing on evening where I live, and I can't stay up late to close this deal. Thanks!
I am not very confident that we will receive a satisfying answer really soon. I have dumped my cart. Another $50 lost for Daz. They make it really easy to save money these days.
So it seems. Am also dumping my cart now. Quite sad, I'd have loved to get Zeus together with his new morphs today. Ah, well. There's always ...
I JUS CAME HERE TO REPORT THAT ...

Yeah, I just put something in my cart expecting the 20% to stack with the Loyalty Discount but no - it doesn't so I cleared my cart.
Well, welcome to the club I guess ...
yep. when this happens I delete my cart. no longer putting in tickets. That new Sphynx cat is really nice though.
Any news about the loyalty discount not working in the new release bonus sale as stated in the last few posts???
No, seems everyone is on Discord. Usually, our mods are way more communicative. But they need to have infos from Daz first, I suppose.
I’m fine with DAZ expanding their business model but not ignoring their loyal customers and this site. With the extra money they are hopefully making they should hire more employees to deal with issues here. They need paid mods who are on here all day.
We did chase this up and that offer is a Today Only and not included - apaprently the things that were included said so, rather than the exclusion being noted explicitly, but that has now been fixed.
This makes no sense because the 25% loyalty discount is more than the 20% off coupon discount. Why would anyone use the coupon?
OK, I see when I removed the coupon, the price went up. I guess I’ll just put the items in my wishlist until a better deal comes along.
Someone who has only 5%? But, still...
Thanks for clarifying. But that makes it a no-go for me. The loyalty discount states that it is valid for all of the current offers except "Today Only", so I would expect that to be marked as such. And the section mentions an "EXTRA" discount of 20%. Which, in my understanding, means that there is a discount to start from. But I suppose that is in line with current Daz marketing fuzziness. In my case it will result in a dropped cart of 55 USD (if all discounts would have applied).
Yep - I haven't bought anything for weeks. Nothing appealing at the price but a stacked discount with the Loyalty looked tempting. Just didn't work so the cart was cleared - no sale.
Thanks for your assistance as always.
I really REALLY don't understand the marketing here anymore. If a company wants to offer discounts, well fine, go ahead - if they don't, then don't. Why all this shifty in-between manouvering? It's become exhausting to shop here. And I just don't get the reasoning behind it. Today, I would have been more than happy to get Zeus cat at a reasonable discount because I really wanted to buy his new morphs as well. Why would DAZ want to prevent me from doing this by side-stepping and out-manouvering their own sales offers once more? Like, seriously - why? Who's benefitting from this?
It's not recent. I've been buying from DAZ for going on two decades and I have always thought that they shoot themselves in the foot with their complex, multi-dependency sales. They probably figure that they are selling so it must work but I buy the things I want DESPITE the ridiculous hoops they expect me to jump though. I just wait for the right, no-strings sale price. I completely agree with you - just put something on sale, end of story!
Here's examples of how they shoot themselves in the foot: if I see a sale which depends on me buying a new release, I ignore it. If I see a sale which demands I buy multiple items to qualify for the discount, I ignore it. If I see a sale offering a 40% discount when last week it was offered at 70% discount, I ignore it. Am I the only one who does this?
Well, yes, there is always another sale, there is the fast grab, and there is the whishlist to remember, biut I think it is a bit unfair regarding the excellent work of the PA's that they do not get the (financial) benefit they deserve. I have no problem to go with a 30% discount of an item I really like, but the way Daz is handlingh discounts, I would rather wait. I am currently spending MUCH more at other sites, with LESS discounts, but a reliable discounting schema - and more reasonable pricing to start with.
A few of the articles on this page should be required reading for anyone in sales I think:
https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=it+costs+5+times+as+much+to+attract+a+new+customer+than+to+keep+an+existing+one
Sure, CLV (Customer Lifetime Value) is also a thing, and perhaps some of the old timers here are less willing to jump on the latest new-fangled bundle, but as noted by a number of us in these threads, some of us have been dumping our carts regularly, or just not bothering with sales, not because we don't want the items in the sales, but because the discounts aren't working as advertised, or that there are weird nuances to how the math is calculated, etc..
The 3x loyalty discount sale a few days ago is a perfect example of this. In my case, the final discount was 58% off (.75 x .75 x .75), but the wording in that sale was confusing. Us 'old timer' customers, when stuff like that happens, get bad tastes in our mouths because it seems like the sales team is trying to 'put one over' on us or something, or treating us as nubes...
Daz3D.com does have a bit of a captive audience, and while the 'less enamored' older existing customers (I'm talking those of us that have been shopping here for say a couple of years or more, not the ages of said customers) won't terminate their accounts here 95% of the time, because of the desire to continue to get updates for products, as wel as still collect freebies, I do think that said customers would probably spend more regularly if not for the 'hoops' we have to jump through in each sale. I still have well over a thousand items on my wishlist here, just waiting for a decent sale.
The fall PC+/Daz+ sale was decent enough, I certainly made good use of the $1.99 sales, but this month I've spent almost nothing by comparison. I even passed on an opportunity to recharge my store credit via a 20% off gift card deal yesterday, simply because I haven't been spending much this month.
One other note, it took Daz CS fifteen days to respond to the coupon issue I had via Zendesk. I do very much appreciate the difference being credited eventually, thanks for that.
But I personally think that if a little more effort was spent on the Customer inquiry side, I might have been more willing to buy stuff earlier this month, but as it is, it's been a 'waiting game' of sorts.
I still want to do business here, but I also want to be treated as a valuable customer. The 25% loyalty discount sort of does that, but then we get back to the 'hoops' thing, and I'm often comparing the deal being offered now vs. how an item has performed in the last year discount wise, and then said discount doesn't apply to a number of things, or other discounts are watered down accordingly to 'compensate' for said discount.
One other thought. I don't expect anything here, but it seems to me that some sort of nod should be made to customers that have been purchasing Daz+ memberships for a number of years now. Said memberships become a bit less valuable to those of us that already own a bunch of the stuff in Daz+, and the 'already owned versus not owned yet' ratio keep growing higher and higher when we check out sales. 40% off Daz+ memberships seems to be the 'about the best we can hope for' number, but for Daz+ members that have renewed a few times, some sort of escalating discount on said memberships might be nice, in honor of us being regular customers. I've been holding out for a 50% off Daz+ membership for a while now, as in past years we saw memberships go on sale for 50% off a few times a year. And I've been shopping here for about a half a decade now.
This could be somethng as simple as say 40% off, plus an extra 2% off Daz+ membership for every year that we've been a Daz+ member, or alternatively have been customers here at Daz3D.com. Sure, for people that have been shopping here since say 2001, that'd be an extra 40% off, but those customers helped get Daz3D.com off of the ground, so I have no problem with said people getting 80% off of their Daz+ memberships for their loyalty. They probably own most of the Daz+ and DO items anyways at this point...
All I ask is that the sales team also re-consider the value of their existing customers when making decisions on whatever new fangled thing they are enamored with (Discord being the latest one). A number of us ARE here waiting for decent deals, similar to deals we've seen in the past, and we DO have value.
And stop playing games with our Daz+ coupons! Keep it simple, if you don't want us using the coupon on something, then 'coupon block' it with a coupon code. This annoys us too, but not nearly as much as when the full $6 isn't deducted for some reason. You should be encouraging us to use said coupons, not discourage us at every opportunity! We DID buy Daz+ memberships for a reason, ya know (along with freebies and extra 30% discounts on DOs and better discounts on Daz+ items)...
Anyways, as I already mentioned, I did want to report that I did (finally) get a store credit for the Daz+ coupon issue I had at the the end of November, and appreciate it.
Hopefully what I have said here doesn't fall on deaf ears.
And I would love to have the ready cash to pay the asking price but I don't so I have to rely on big discounts otherwise I would be spending nothing at all. I am a hobbyist and the hobby occupies my retirement days quite enjoyably but I am also living on a meagre state pension so my hobby allowence is minimal. I know there are people here who spend copious amounts daily and have content libraries taking up terabytes and I am glad they do because the PA will make a living. I'm sorry that I can't spend more.
