    Thanks Hubert and Hansmar

Adbc - wow a fantastic render

Horo - an outstanding render, the water is awesome.

The Terrain/Model is Trashland by Shedder-ShareCG, I used an Hdri from the Deep Space 2 and a Corona from the Space Construction Kit, the space walker is a freebie.

    Thank you adbc.

mermaid, it's all the interesting bits here that captivate me. I like the space walker and the space debris.  I feel like I'm in deep space watching the walker pick up piece for scrap. The sky is beautiful too.

The object is happy_vrip01 from the Stanford Scanning Repository. It stands with a self made material within a 10-sided column (comes with Bryce 7.1) with 4% Transparency and 70% Reflection. Light and colours by an HDRI. The object in the centre is sharp and gets progressively unsharper towards the borders (see 3D CG Documents > Mine > Rendering > DoF and Dof Ring Lens).

Horo, that's an interesting image.  I'm glad that you explained it.  I wasn't sure what I was looking at.  It looks photorealistic.  Well done.

Horo : wow, fascinating render ! Thank you for the explanation.

Horo: A very effective way to create a complete temple with only one statue. Great render, lighting and DoF effect!

Double stacked terrain from the Crater Construction Kit (author unknown) with materials from Gritstone Hills and Terrain Stacking. Sky and ambient light by the SkySphere7 and the HDRI from the Sky Toolbox.

Horo, I love the sky in that image.  I also like the vegetation.  I'm sure that's through the texture editor how you got it at only certain altitude.

  • adbcadbc Posts: 3,115

Horo : awesome stacked terrains, beautiful material and sky.

  • HoroHoro Posts: 10,644

NGartplay - thank you. In the MatLab you can mix the textures in Ch-A and B with Ch-C in many ways. But also the DTE (texture editor) has more options than before. This doesn't make it easier to use but it is really very versatile. It can "entertain" you for hours.

    adbc - thank you.

Horo: Great laughing Buddha and wonderful terrain render.

    Thank you Hansmar.

Horo, sorry, I meant the DTE.  I've watched many videos on it and have tried my hand at it.  It can take hours, lol.

NGartplay - if you have a moment, have a look at this PDF on my website: Bryce & 3D CG Documents > Mine > Materials > DTE (on top). It has only 84 pages and near the end a link list to 23 videos by David Brinnen, who probably knows the DTE best.

I will do, Horo.  Thank you for the link.  We're headed out in a bit to meet friends but I'll read it tomorrow.

    Found it and bookmarked

Recently I bought a character at a reduced price in the Daz3D shop. It is called Mark. Wanted to find out how he looks in Bryce. Rendered with TA 36 rpp

Electro-Elvis - I am always surprised how you manage to create such real looking human characters in Bryce. Great render.

The terrain was made from a photographed cloud and given a self made material. The planet is a sphere with a Pluto map. The fine stars behind are from the Space Construction Kit, sky and ambient light by the DS-Sky04 HDRI from Deep Space HDRI 2, the key light by the sun. An uninhabited world with a sight to the Orion Nebula M42 NGC 1976.

Electro-Elvis, a girl that I used to work with husband looked just like this guy.  His name was Don.  He looks so good here.  Great character.

Horo, the material on your terrain almost looks like alien city lights.  Very cool effect.

Electro-Elvis : great render, very good looking guy.

Horo : wonderful image, beautiful shiny terrain material, awesome sky.

    Horo:
    - Your "Double stacked terrain from the Crater Construction Kit" scene rocks. Fantastic terrain-mat and sky work!
    - Wonderful moody "uninhabited world". Great terrain work and otherworldly glossy mats!

    Electro-Elvis:
    - An impressive character render!
