Why not just browse the DAZ store's and other stores' complete catalogs, then you'll probably find all those things used on promo pages that you might be interested in, plus a lot of other things you might like.  If not, they're probably not available anymore anyway.

Joke's on you. I'm using my own custom props I don't sell to anyone.

What has that to do with browsing actual products that can be purchased?

The vitriol... off the charts.  People buy, or don't buy for their own reasons.  While I understand that you can never make "everybody" happy, it is still valuable info to somebody trying to run a buisiness that is built off of selling things.  But, I guess if you are busy trying to be with the power curve on the "Next Big Thing", like they did with NFTs, you tend to loose sight of the core business and important things.

I'd think, that Daz would require it's promo images for items its trying to sell to use daz store items in those images.

And, I'd think, that they would want as many items possible to be included in the "items used" section of the ad, so that they could... sell more items/assets?

Marketing 101?  It's not rocket science.

it would be embarrassing if those listed items were linked to the oops page...

There are so many of these threads in the Commons I think DAZ should have a separate category in the Forums called 'Where is?'

These boards are full of "what hair is this?" and what clothes are these?" posts. From now on before I purchase I am going to check the "Additional products used in promo images" section. If it is not populated, no sale. If the vendor cannot give credit to others when using their work in promos, then I'll buy from someone else. It's even sillier when the vendor doesn't even list their own assets as those that were used.  You just cost yourself two sales.

There are a couple of assets I'd like to buy today, but I want to recreate them exactly as shown in the promos. Since the vendor does not say which additional assets were used, I cannot recreate it, so no sale.

This is why I have a 'Special' list that vendors find themselves on for not providing enough promo credits.
    (Also their attitude towards customers)
    Ultimately it saves me money

  • For a new character, I really appreciate it if the hair(s) used in promos are listed. Often the hair is what completes the character so it's good to know. Seems to be about a 50/50 chance it will actually be listed though.

... (there is a limit to how much can sensibly be fitted at the end of the product page).

Could the page have a collapsed list of products with a '+' sign button to expand it? Then the list wouldn't get in the way of those who are just browsing but if somebody is interested they could check out the links.

Another suggestion -- if a PA or promo artist has used custom modeled props or items that are not commercially available, why not just list them as "Custom Item"? It might cut down on the number of "where can I find" threads. Well maybe. wink
