Is it my imagination or is this forum getting very quiet?

Are people:

1) Shoveling snow?

2) Actually modeling, posing, and rendering rather than visiting forums?

3) Tired of posting?

4) Completely satisfied, totally knowledgeable and without unanswered questions?

5) Stuck on an icy road freezing to death?

6) Unable to pay their Internet provider bill because of all the DAZ models they've bought?

7) Completely mesmerized by what's on TV (oh, god Nooooooo!!!)?

8) All rounded up and shipped off to the crazy farm?

I am here. Busy time with work. Finishing taxes and getting ready to send them in, need to make IRA decision first though. FINALLY cleaning up from the holidays. Plus, it's 80 F here today; still want to go outside and play.

Maybe off sorting all those free goodies stashed on the legally free from the internet library [archive.org] of CD/DVD disks from 3D World in which there is Hexagon 1.x and Hexagon 2.2 and D/S3.x 32 bit and D/S3A [32 and 64 bit] and some models including V5 [personal use only - which somehow never sounds right when talking about figures but anyway] [the rest are the usual license] ...

Maybe mesmerized by "Planet X and Nibiru" floating by our picture windows again ... nice snow clouds hiding most of it [which is fine with me right now tbh] ...

Maybe wondering why an entire forum is missing from the the forum ... where did the Members Only go? "poof" atm ....

Maybe running full security scanners because when visiting websites, one is not supposed to hear people talking through the computer ... [makes the dogs bark, mind you it does keep the cats away] ...

Maybe tired of having posts removed, so why post 'em.

Maybe scared of posting because good golly, those internet libraries record WHAT?!!!

Um, ... hmm ... think I'll go watch the nice man shovel snow.

February is always a slow month around here. All the PA's are nose to the grindstone to get ready for MM so that accounts to why they are not posting as much. Maybe a bunch of people are taking their power naps now to get ready for those late nights waiting for a potential "new shiny".

Sometimes my DAZ characters are more fully clothed than I. Well, some of them have better looking clothing than I do, but I still have a better tuxedo than any of the DAZ fellas, so I've got one up on that lazy lot! :coolsmirk:

Besides, rendering is hot business in my home office and as long as the blinds are drawn and the skype camera is unplugged, it's all cool, right?

    12) Game of Thrones series 4 has just come out on DVD and Blu-ray, over here in the United Kingdom, so that may account for some of my fellow countrymen going AWOL.

    Cheers,

Working, making an African skin for Dawn (testers... anyone...?) and feeling blue (sickly). Nothing particularly interesting if you ask me.

    What? That sounds interesting.

... #14: wrestling with playing "bug killer" in software that should work properly.

Yeah beginning to lose enthusiasm for all this as it seems us the users have to be the ones to fix issues that should have been taken care of by developers who are paid to do so. Just uninstalled Reality4 from the system as it still has issues with remembering materials settings and which camera to render through and the latest update doesn't fix either of them. Unable to flag skin that uses SSS with the Advanced Lights. Only two of the Atmospheric cameras work properly. The Graphic Art ones don't at all unless you go into each one using the shader builder (which I still do not know how to use even after watching the vid) to effectively "create" a "new" Graphic camera. No fun when the tools get in the way of getting the job done.

Trying to avoid the grammar-monkeys, lol.

The PA's are probably buisy as all hell for the upcoming month.
Me, 1, 2, and other... Trying to translate older-then-dirt tutorials to the Studio interface I'm looking at. Where the hell do I click to do that, lol.

In the northeast, we just got a few more inches of "Stuff No One Wants", and my deck is a tad slippery now.

Picture it, France about 20,000 years ago,... Og and Charlie are sitting cross legged around the fire in the cave. Og is frowning and chipping little flakes of flint precisely from his new spearhead. Og turns to Charlie and says "I paid an extra wombat fur for that new kid in the next cave over to make me a spearhead and it just isn't right. Can't trust the youngsters with their new technology. They just don't care about quality".

Not rendering. Headed out in the convertible for the 80 degree weather today to run a few errands, but overall, prioritizing doing files and my image catalog. It's so hard to see all the various makeups with the main promo art, need to dig into the thumbnails. :) Having fun seeing the options for the characters. Time consuming, but working on things for me and getting organized.

Yeah I wish I could still do art the "old school" way but "Uncle Arthur" has pretty much "tied my hands".

If I was up on the spaghetti code languages used today (and had the source code, provided of course it was documented properly which it probably isn't) I would make my own permanent fixes.

Did anybody catch that wombats are not from France?

So you can understand why Og was so pissed. He was the only one on his continent that had a wombat skin.

But then again maybe 20,000 years ago the Australian wombats had relatives in France?

    Distant relatives?

    Really distant relatives?

    Like shrews or something?

im saturated with the female only content here at daz. Since the release of Keiko combined with higher prices I've lost some enthusiasm. It is high time for a new male character.

We need to make an open-source clone of DAZ Studio and call it "ZAD Image Creator", we can write it in a mix of C# and Python! :snake:

It's hardly worth positng questions here anymore. A couple of years ago in this forum, you'd post a question and a dozen members would jump on it immediately and provide you with a ton of good advice and answers. Now you post a question and you're lucky if 2 or 3 people give you an opinion. I've also lost a lot of interest since the introduction of Genesis 2. It's just too confusing trying to figure out what clothes will fit on what generation of figure. You know, just make every piece of clothing fit on every figure automatically - in both DAZ Studio and Poser. The same with skin textures. Enough already with incompatability. I'm spending most of my time at other sites buying generation 4 clothes and hair I know I won't have some problem with.
