Yeah I wish I could still do art the "old school" way but "Uncle Arthur" has pretty much "tied my hands".

If I was up on the spaghetti code languages used today (and had the source code, provided of course it was documented properly which it probably isn't) I would make my own permanent fixes.

We need to make an open-source clone of DAZ Studio and call it "ZAD Image Creator", we can write it in a mix of C# and Python! :snake:

...can we throw some FORTRAN into is as well? Otherwise I'll just bring the crisps and beer. ;-)

I decided that the cash I was spending on content that was barely used was better spent elsewhere- on my Jeep. ;)

It's hardly worth positng questions here anymore. A couple of years ago in this forum, you'd post a question and a dozen members would jump on it immediately and provide you with a ton of good advice and answers. Now you post a question and you're lucky if 2 or 3 people give you an opinion. ...

Well, some of that still happens, but I admit, not as much as I remember it. The "Commons" is pretty slow but the "DAZ Studio Discussion" is downright lethargic. Which may be a good thing because it keeps the real technical discussions out of the banter area. But I know that I rarely go to the "DAZ Studio Discussion" area anymore because the topics are often beyond me now.

I stay pretty much in the "Commons" and I do answer technical questions that I feel comfortable answering. But admittedly, the DAZ "Commons" area has always been a fun place to come. There has been enough quick answers and low to intermediate technical advice to be quite useful. But it seems to have been a lot more active even as little as 6 months ago.

A lot of technical forums around the internet for things like Photoshop or other professional softwares are just plain terrible. Either too freakin' busy with zillions of posts or too dead to even bother posting. Post a question and go on vacation for a few weeks then come back to see if anybody even responded to your question. Somehow DAZ hit a happy medium of active posters, answered questions, and fun banter without getting fanatically abusive.

But perhaps even this fun place has run its course? :-( I hope not. I hope that people are just temporarily busy elsewhere.

Ok, what parallel universe are you guys in that say that this forum is slow or that forum is lethargic?

I have to do my rounds in the forums and most times when I first get in and review the forums, I have 3-5 pages of new postings to go through. This is regular for me day in and day out most days of the year. I saw this thread and wondered what the heck are they talking about? LOL.

Guess it depends on what you're expecting, but considering how much time it takes to keep up with the forums as a Mod, for me this place keeps me on my toes.

...it also depends on the threads one subscribes to. For example, there are a number of topics I have no interest in so I don't bother with those threads. Actually, my thread subscription list is rather small.

im saturated with the female only content here at daz. Since the release of Keiko combined with higher prices I've lost some enthusiasm. It is high time for a new male character.

    What, something like this?

A postal worker outfit would be kind of cool I think. Great suggestion.

    ....

I can't tell you which parallel universe (they don't have labels), but I can tell you how to get here. "Second star to the right and straight on till morning."

I just judge forum traffic by the number of unread threads when I wander back to the computer. I only visit "Commons" and "DAZ Studio Discussions" but the more active one "Commons" has been showing up with less than 10 unread threads many times when I used to expect to see 20 or 30. Perhaps we're all talking in the same threads now? Does that mean we've synchronized our brains or does it mean that chaos no longer reigns in the forums?

Yep, I think you have joined the Synchronized Response Team. ;) And it's still chaos cuz you're not all performing the same routines at the same time.

Not every thread appears in those searches.
Esp if in members even signed in
(which you have to be to search)
many I posted in do not show in posts this member has participated in either often ones I desperately want to see but are older.
Do not trust the forum search, it only shows what it wants.

These days you don't need to buy coke, just sniff a used $ bill:

I'll recommend though to get high on this instead, it doesn't hurt your brain as much though it can be addictive I've heard:

February is "no money, work faster" month for PA's, as Khory and others have pointed out. Less talking, more Zbrush/Blender/3d Coat. The combination of lower cash flow with impending March Madness is a perfect recipe for sleep deprivation over here.

I've been a bit burned out this year on trying to communicate in general, especially when some of the angrier Poser users have chased me to the PMs or my deviantart to complain about things I have no control over. I'm just trying to make a living over here, not participating in a conspiracy to deny people content they want. It's very frustrating to say "I can't, because the program doesn't work that way" and have people say "I'm sorry you don't want my money."

As for the male figures/female figures thing... same answer. Thread like that pops up, I don't even look at it now.

I do reply to a good number of "newbie needs help" threads, when Richard doesn't get there first (I think Richard knows everything :D).

Well, since the Admins and PA's can't have us hyping over up-coming characters ahead of time, there's nothing much for me to post about. I'm not too tech-savvy to help-out in error threads, I'm not big on business math to participate in sales threads, and I actually don't render many full scenes, so my Art Gallery isn't very active either.

Plus, I started putting my time into a contracted job and been going on dates with a few nice guys I met recently... ;)

    Aw, thanks!

Misty, the tuck pose probably comes from the (now unavailable) male package helper I briefly sold at RDNA, if you had that one. There are a lot of ways to handle that (pun not intended) otherwise, so I haven't really put it up anywhere else since I left there.
