Another reason why prefer to work with models (like Binah or Heidi) who are already sculpted that way. Morphs just dont appear to have the same effect.

Yes - I understand that the PAs know how to model characters and make all the projection morphs for clothing, etc. I wish I could find a good tutorial on how to do the same with dialled-in morphs - that would make a whole lot of my purchased G8 wardrobe available for my "real looking" characters. I almost never (probably actually never) use a character as purchased because I mainly buy them for the look of the skin or as a base for my own imagination. That's a huge part of the enjoyment of this hobby for me - to see a character take form in front of my eyes.

How extreme are your characters? I do the same thing, creating my own characters and never have issues with clothing fitting. Does dforce help?

Well then, I just don't understand how you get away with it. My characters are not extreme by real life standards but are perhaps some way removed from the DAZ G8 standard shape. The biggest problem is the bust cling and there is another thread discussing that in detail here:

    https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/547231/alternative-ways-of-skinning-the-clothes-breast-cat/p1

Unfortunately, dForce doesn't help much because any deformations caused by cling or body shaping is projected on to the clothing and dForce does not smooth it out.

  • I have been 3D scannings actual models, I have several scanned.  I recently figured out how to make morphs with them (the R3dS Wrap tutorial) , but my Daz knowledge is not quite good enough to get them to market.

But it is cool to see that there is a market for imperfect models!
