    Biker boots.

haha google images of biker boots all have those straps indeed
funny my brother rode a motorbike (Jap mind you not Harley it might make a difference fashion wise)
and his never had those straps, did have velcro overlap on zip though for waterproofing and kevlar inserts.

Maybe it's an American thing. I have searched through some of the photos from the website of the MC my brother belongs to and can't see that any of the renegades are wearing strapped boots. OK not many of the photos concentrate on the boots, but still I couldn't see any straps.

All my boots have either laces with hooks and eyelets or a side zipper, cannot say I have ever seen ones with straps in real life ever though fantasy and fetish wear seems to abound in them.

    From my closet:

The ones you attached are more for sport/dirt bikes rather than cruisers. My hubby's been riding since the womb and tends to wear good ol' pair of comfortable shoes, doesn't matter if they're boots or sneakers. You won't ever catch either of us riding with sandals though. lol

A bit of a heel can be helpful to keep your foot on the peg. I tend to prefer a mild-heeled boot when I'm riding passenger on the Ninja. My legs are more angled than they are on the Harley's and I'd prefer my foot not to slip.

What about cleavage windows and odd empty spaces around the stomach and various parts of the ladies clothing? Adventuress get cold too!

...and armour, particularly modern day/futuristic armour (like Future Cop) that bares the easiest to hit target on the body. Gut shots are almost always fatal. This is why in RL, Kevlar vests cover the entire front and back of the torso.

    Dead horse!

We all know that warrior princesses are not real warriors, they're just posers. (pun intended) :cheese:

But I too, snicker at boots with silly fashion straps. Real bikers don't want no damn straps flappin' in the wind or getting caught in the drive chain or catching on the ground breaking their leg when the bike goes down. :-S

But fashion has nothing to do with the real world it's all fantasy to make obscene money for the "designers" and to avoid us all wearing only practical clothes like grey pajamas and sandals. However, I see that sweatpants are now selling for hundreds of dollars. C'mon, let's all jump on the bandwagon. I've got several pairs of "naturally distressed" sweatpants that should be highly desirable to some over-privileged bozo with more dollars than sense. :coolsmirk:

Now we're at it - very often a vendor creates a great product, but then, to make it different or stand out, they add a little detail or feature to it that, IMO, just spoils the whole thing, either because it simply just not look good or seems out of context or proportion, aesthetically.

Kinda like the real fashion industry. ;)

Examples please! I can't imagine what any of you are talking about without pictures! :blank:

I ca't ever imagine what I'm talking about either... but here is a picture of one of my modified boots... notice the care I took in fastening this hi-tech strap to the boot... I probably shouldn't have been wearing them when I screwed them in and I should have used shorter screws, but hey... now I know.

This isn't what you were asking for was it?

What? No rivets holding down the corners? No box staples? No fancy studs?

Those are supposed to be 'fashion' items?

Meh, they look like something you could pick up at any old thrift store...

    No...
I did give them to the Salvation Army but they left them in my driveway...
They look fine though (they smell a bit funny)...
With that snazy carbonfiber strap they actually go faster and you can kick things with greater forward stability... the patented StabiliStrap redirects micro-air turbulance factors in an extreme manner, causing Macro Lift Actualization and thus enhancing the user's kicking experience.
I was gonna use that in the brochure that was going to go with them.

Yes, but is all that carbon going to act as pungency supressor?
