When trying to get the "free" Item the price in the cart is coming up as $8.99 instead of free.

The "FREE" item is $8.99 + tax when I use the Coupon. That's not free at all!
Funny, they say they never read the forums but I suggested exactly this many years ago, way before Ati’s DAZ Dealz.
There is no incentive for those of us who own those three items. They should make it any non-new DO available for free.
Exactly. Even if I were open to the idea of receiving texts from Daz, I already own everything they're offering as an incentive.

Let me think about this . . . if I opt in I can have my choice of one of three items I already own and I will get assorted alerts, presumably with links I'll need to copy to my laptop to use.

Where is this offer? I don't recall seeing it and I think these posts are from today? The only reason I know this is a thing is because I can read the text above.
(And does "never miss a deal" imply they will all be during waking hours? You don't have to answer that!)
It is an orange banner message; but if you are not in the US you migh not have gotten it since the SMS messaging is only available in the US

And it says in a comment above that coupon codes are sent with the SMS, but I haven't had one. The numeber I entered is definitely correct. Should I have had some offers (that don't work?)
I guess this is more curiosity than anything else, I'm wondering why I never got the offer. My PC is broken, I couldn't use the items anyway!
Own all three "FREE" items. Not opting in. Why not a coupon for 1 free character under XXXX. Geez the marketing team missing the ball yet again LOL

Can a mod please tell me if I am right in assuming this is free content for Americans only? In my flash sales rant, support told me all offers were available to all users. Is that not the case any more?
Hard to say how angry I am about this right now. One of those items was on my wishlist. Not any more. Do you think I will ever pay money for it now? Of course not, now I know it was given to Americans for free (when the offer is fixed, which it inevitably will be).
A very, very shortsighted marketing strategy. I would suggest the marketing team think about the global consequences of their actions in future.

What is the reason only Americans get this service? We do have phones here you know.
And what are the offers in the SMS that are not availanle outside the US? (That don't currently work.)
And now I am feeling a bit more rational about this,I suspect that this is just something that someone thought was a good idea, and they didn't think the consequences through rather than anything malicious. I hope we will see that those three items are made available free of charge to peolple that have no way to sign up to this service. Otherwise, it's going to be a while before I visit the site again. I don't like being exluded in this way.
I never did well with stuff like algebra, or trig...but I do know the difference between $8.99 and $0.00!

The promo announcement doesn't say free, it says free*... That star had to mean something.
