So. Now we've got Necromancer 8.1.
I like the morph, and actually have a use for him. To be honest, he seems to be rather an update of Ollie 8, but not played for laughs this time. Don't particularly care about most of the rest of the bundle. Not that there is anything especially wrong with it. But I've got enough similar items to be a bit more selective.
At least this time no one can say that the HD add-on doesn't do anything.

Necromancer 8.1
Hmm, I'm in between skipping, cherrypicking some items and getting the Necro or even the Mega Bundle. Hard to tell but I spent quite some bucks on DAZ+FAD recently so the Bundles are probably off limits. Pitty that the 6$-Coupon is never fully working on a cart with free or discounted items. Can only make approx $5 from it. Should have been fixed long time ago.
Now, THAT'S a character! What an interesting morph, full of personality! His skin is a bit shiny, hyperspecular. He could be Pharaoh or Jannes or Jambres. Or he could be the head of the Global Territories Financial Organization (GTFO). The Mega Bundle looks good, although the female character's inclusion is an affront. Are males added to female mega bundles? And what happened to Pro Bundles' comeback?
I'm glad Daz is giving us a strong male character, but the female/male May/September situation is glaring. I could use a Michael 7/6 hunk stereotype.
I bought him. He looks like he will be great for mixing, and only cost me $9.67 with Daz+ coupon and waterever else was going on, yay.
I'll try some renders tomorrow, my partner is hogging the graphics card to play 8-bit video games tonight, the monster.
Or...he could be a seasoned expert and slayer of vampires, maybe a scientist obsessed with the creation of "fleh golems", or the commander of a moon-sized planet cracking laser platform.
...In other words, with just minor tweaks, this fellow looks like the noted character actor, Peter Cushing!
NAILED IT!
Holy crap, Daz once again proving that they are masters with sculpting/scanning realistic characters. I think we sometimes take for granted just how much computing power it takes to bring these characters into Daz Studio, I mean, to have tens, of JCM/PBMs moving along with a simple limb bend while keeping system resources manageable is an incredible feat.
I remember using that C4D plugin that allows for V4 functionality within that program many moons ago, and whooo-boy did it bring my PC to its knees, and while systems have gotten much better over the years, you still need a competent PC in order to use G8 in blender with any smoothness!
I like the character, his hd, and two of the outfits. I'm not keen on the bundle filler. I wish the bundle had included his HD. I can't see buying this character without it.
The Mega Bundle has the HD, and I've gotten it down to $51.82, which is acceptable to me since I would've bought the character, HD, Necromancer Outfit, Victorian Hair, & Skull Castle anyway. I'm so glad Daz solidified their relationship with Polish; it just means good stuff for us.
Not often does a Male character for Daz Studio my attention, but this one did.
Reminds me a bit of Ollie 8 but still, great character and already bought .
I'm also intrigued and am going to buy him on the spot, which I hardly ever do. VERY nice morph and skin looks quite good also. Don't care for anything else in the bundles really, but the character is exactly that, a CHARACTER. Sweet!
I'm 50-50 on snagging it right now. He does look diverse (which does help a character), and I could use more males in the lineup. I'm curious to see what the next base (male or female) will be, though - almost always the big rub, right? I might need the next one far more than the current one! LOL
I think that now there are enough pretty young women and ugly old guys for the 8.1 generation.
Don't get me wrong - the character is great and I'm thinking of buying it....
Would buy the Mega Bundle but adding my $6 Monthly Coupon takes off $5.10

I love everything in this bundle! The character looks fantastic and I can see using him in a lot of spots.
I bought the Necromancer Dragon bundle because I prefered that outfit and could probably use the dragon too. Also want to give credit to fjaa3d for the axes and the examples showing all of the material zones. That actually makes a bigger difference than you know when it comes to purchasing props or clothing, and I appreciate it.
(edit: yikes, especially after just discovering that the robe only has ONE material zone. Come on Val, you can do better.)
A necromancer starship captain?
I think the promotional images for this fellow give a pretty good idea of what you're going to get. His base figure dose not come with nipples though! His brows come baked into the texture, but there is a no brow option. I've borrowed Wolfgang's brows for the test images below. I've wish isted the HD, so haven't got to pblay with it yet.
He poses well! Probably my only minor whinge is the eyes look a bit like cut out slits (possibly better with the HD?)
I was just thinking it would be really cool if there was an ink-stained teeth/gum texture for this guy.
Ollie still has the better hand scuplt.
I like the depth of colour you achieved with his skin there.
I wouldn't say Ollie has a BETTER hand sculpt; it's just more exaggerated, like Ollie himself.
True, true. I just love Ollie's beautiful long fingers. They feel refined to me, more so than probably any other character. Which is funny given Ollie was Gen 8's comedic relief.
I hope we get some older 8.1 ladies, now we've had all the old white dudes. Leanne and Jinx only read mid thirties to me.
You can use all G8 morphs and skins on G8.1. Lots of older G8 females.
I've always found it difficult to move aged skins around, the folds and textures don't line up, which becomes more obvious the more wrinkles.

I definitely wasn't expecting those shredded abs when I clicked on her.
Could someone perhaps do a side-by-side comparison of the Necromancer with and without HD? From the pictures above, I get the impression that the difference is quite significant, but that may be due to lighting etc. Thanks very much!
