Mature Content?

What's happening with the shop, are we going to see NSFW stuff in the future if "Show Mature Content" is checked?

Clicking on the little "i" in a circle will display a pop-up with an explanation.

As far as I understand it, we don't get more content, we can simply filter out some of the existing content, which some may deem too mature, or something.

Yep. I am afraid that's all it is: Filter out skimpy stuff for the corporate user.

Apparently, some mature trees are also excluded by this.

    One Test

I decided to see what difference it made.  I went to the sales page where they list the items discounted for the day's premiere artist.  Mine will look different because of items I already own.  I checked the box, and I unchecked the box.  The first difference I saw was that the complete outfit, XFashion Lune Pajamas, appears, along with its component subparts, when the box is checked.  When the mature box is unchecked, the subpart items continue to appear individually, but the complete outfit does not.

I am not sure what this categorization accomplishes.

Of course, this was only one test.

In attached, see that the box is unchecked, and that the separate tops and bottoms of XFashion Lune Pajamas appear separately, but not the complete outfit.

While in the below the mature box is checked, and the complete XFashion Lune Pajamas appears as a bundle, along with component parts.

  • I don't think this heralds any chnage, or at least any major change, in what is permitted - it is rather to filter what is already there to make the site more welcoming for some potential users without restricting others beyond the existing limits.

It was just so hilarious to see that at the shop, unless of course "Mature" is referring to products like Floyd, Jeb and Mabel wink

I find it interesting that a "Breast and Glutes" product wasn't hidden by the mature filter, but most dental/tooth products for G3F were hidden. I am so grateful that I don't have to see those sexy teeth...

BTW, the male versions of the tooth products were not hidden.

  • On my end, I clicked it on and ultrascenery showed up lol. I found that pretty humorous. I'm going to have to make sure that button is clicked just in case so I don't miss items that are scenery, thanks for pointing it out.

i saw it today for the 1st time when I couldn;t find a newly released pose set. I thought they might have removed it from the store for some reason. Thre pose sit was a bunch of people sitting around talking, doing stuff in a living room...nothing even close to mature. Everyday life stuff.
Now I wonder how many products totally slipped my sight. I clicked th elittle mature box and viola, there is was. That about blew my mind.

I could understand it if there was actually something on this site that was a bit erotic or risque, but the rules are already such that it isn't a thing here. When a bare shoulder gets scrutiny, you know the story.

The current state of it (ie. sorta not working at all) aside, I'm a fan of the inclusion. It's an option, people can have it or not, and more options is always a good thing! Plus, from my perspective it'll make it easier to filter out Daz's extensive collection of skimpwear (again, once it's actually working)

Actually, that filter, if it had been available a couple of years ago, would have avoided a seriously awkward situation when I suggested DAZ to an engineer at a clients location who opened DAZ up on a super skimpwear sales day... very awkward in an open office design where everyone could see the monitor.

It would be interesting to have "Show only mature content" filter to see what are those 5252 products that are categorized unsuitable for us minors, that is in addition to tree trunks and teeth...

I've been at DAZ since the very first day of its existence, actually before it became DAZ. One of the things I've always stated is I'm not too cool on censorship overall. I can understand when at a workplace, but , for the most of time, unless its your job to be on DAZ, you shouldn't be, on any other non work related endeavors anyway.

On this new check box thing, it could have been good to at least announce it, unless I missed the notice so people wouldn;t be searching for stuff that was up front before. As far as protecting someone from mature content, its basically whatever, but maybe it should be some sort of hidden attribute so your 10 year old can;t just go in and check it, otherwise its pretty much not all that effective. My opinion...but ?I guess it is a safety factor from keeping eyeballs from seeing something provacative over your shoulder.

Open up your 'My Account' page and right under your email that 'Mature Content: Disabled' with the 'i in a circle' appears.

DAZ, what does this mean, and how does it affect our ability to view not only new products, but will it block our ability to view our purchases and possibly download them?

What is your criteria for this determination?

Or are you getting ready to turn the Daz store into a 3D porn store?

Maybe NFTs bombed out, so they have to look for new avenues of profit now.

the i shows checked or unchecked. which allows mature products, checked or unchecked?

No porn (or, as far as I know, any other chnage in what can be sold or shown in promo images), and I thought the filter was meant to be off by default for existing members 9since we've seen it all anyway).

I'd really, REALLY need this kind of filter for the gallery, not the store, and not for girls in skimpwear but violent/sadistic images. I'm hypersensitive, and I hardly dare browse the gallery some days, because once I've seen something, I can't un-see it and am forced by my stupid, stupid brain to dwell on it forever. If there's any chance we could have filters for the gallery, that'd really make my day!

The first thing that goes hidden in the store for me is VYK Astarte, which is funny, since she doesn't even come with gen mats.

Oh, and does linking to that page now mean I'm linking to mature content per the forum rules, or is that different again?
