I've noticed that its much more difficult to register in passing who's an admin, or who's a Daz employee now. To the untrained eye (a newbie, perhaps), it would be very easy to miss that Richard and Chohole are admins. With the old setup the formatting on their profile details made it quite obvious, but now you have to clock that they have the word "Administrator" subtly inserted below their name in unassuming font.

It might be a good idea to make their profile info stand out a bit more again, like before.

I've noticed that there are a bunch of notifications stored in my profile.  Why?  How do I get rid of them.  I don't mean the checkboxes to say I want notificactions, but the notifications themselves are listed.  That is going to use up a lot of disc space on your servers if this is happening to everyone!

There also another 3 Admins on the DAZ forum team that you may have missed. It is not just Richard and I

Spell checking and FireFox:  It does work in FireFox, if you are not running NoScript or allow all scripts to run on DAZ.  I think but haven't confirmed, it minimally needs googleadservices in addition to the 'normal' ones for DAZ allowed.  It does work without effort in Chrome (haven't checked Safari, Opera of IE).

webspellchecker.net, I have that allowed but no ad services (nor, most of the time, Google itself)

I'll have to check that, because I thought I did enable that one...

Nope, not goggleadservices...it's adroll that needs to be enabled, in addition to webspellchecker.net

    But why?

Most browsers natively include a spellcheck option.

...well Daz3D.com and Adroll are both on my NoScript whtielist, but I still don't get FF spell check. SCAYT though the local forum spell check has to be activated every time you post which is a real bother.  Seems the new forum software overrrides the FF spell check option.

Having to do more clicking than normally necessary to perform what is supposed to be a simple task is not an "improvement".

the thing with the " Quote Button,  it needs to appear above Signatures ,  not so easy to spot if a poster has a Sig.

to me the quote button looks like it's for the next posters post, rather then the one you're  wanting to quote

is there anyway I can get the Moderators to merge my animation and art thread together as one?

Yeah I knew there were more, thanks. I was just using you and Richard as examples because you're the ones who respond to me most often wink. Who are the other 3, by the way? I know Jack is one of them...

What is the height of the sig line banners... I keep resizing mine but it's still looking very stretched out....

Also, I mentioned this to a client last night at work... I said "yea, the new forums are kinda cool but there is NO UNDERLINE option but there is a strikethrough..."  she was like What the hell, no one used strikethrough except maybe coders.. I was like "yea, they need to fix that" so please fix that please!  THANKS!

I don't understand how to manage my Inbox. All old saved messages seem to be marked as new. How can I clear that new status without clicking on each one to read it? Is there something like the forum has, to mark all as read?

The only way to get rid of the new is to go into it and back out. I jsut now got done with mine. It took quite a while to go through them all

You use "styles"     Inserted text.   wink

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,249

Sigh... well at least my sig line looks all purtified now... even and all that.

Why in heavens name do they not have a simple button for that rather than going the styles route?  Strikethrough gets that button but not something that's used constantly like underline?  Nonsensical... Thanks for the info just the same hon! heart

CLICK ME LOL  @McGyver click the avatar ;)

That's cool... It actually works better than clicking on the gear icons.

I figure out how to do the clickable Banner/Link thanks to Cayman and Chohole, it is actually easier than before... Or how I partly remember it being before... ?

I can't figure out how to subscribe to a thread anymore with this new forum.  Where is it?  Used to be at the bottom of the page.

Click on the little star icon in the upper right corner of the page (with the tooltip "bookmark".)

ok - no idea if it has been posted already, like, 14 pages to read, argh, i gave up after 4 or ? - but i also was swearing at the thought of my links gone. then i tried something:

    - in my browser adress bar, i replaced "viewthread" by "discussion" for a couple of my links, and i got to the pages!

hope it could help, if someone hasn't said it already.

as to the layout etc.. well it's the new uniformized whitish look i've seen on a few of my sites, like sim stuff and livejournal, amongst others. maybe bootstrap or something. i hate it. might be more efficient, but everything looks the same, uniform somehow. nothing against changes, i can adapt - except for this one particular thing. i liked it how it was before on all those sites, functionality limits included, they all their own personal feel & vibe. actually, i stopped visiting most of those sites when there was no way to keep the old layout. so, thx for the hard work, but yeah, one unhappy user, sorry guyz ~

...well now I know how to PM someone, though again more inconvenient extra clicking than the prevous forum to do so.

Please someone tell me how having to go through all these extra hoops to do what once was accomplished by a simple single click really improves the "user experience"?

I must admit after fixing everything and looking at how this new forum is suppose to function , I actually like it much better than the old one.  Nice work Daz guys and thank to all the  Daz moderators for helping us make the transition easier :)

My sig line is driving me crazy... I get it lined up and sometimes it's all nicely spaced and other posts I see it's all this way and that way.... weird...

I dunno if this will help. But I used the formatted text option under style  in the edit profile signture section. and it auto aligned everything and reduced my text size
