...umm, they are an image (.gif), and can only be opened in an image editor. That's how they were added to the sig and how they display in the edit window (with the standard "image" border). . This whole Idea of uploading to a site and then bringing them in via a URL is ridiculous as I was easily able to embed them in my sig with a single click in the former forum software.
Again I ask the question, how is this update an improvement to the "user experience"?
The previous forums were the same when they first released I do believe (had to hot link in the Banner Ads. It was eventually changed. I would guess it may in this case as well.
I've never understood why forums waste so much screen space, and why each 'improvement' wastes more.
What I want to read when I look at a forum is the text of the posts.
About 50% of my screen space (1366x768 with full screen Firefox window) is now taken up with other stuff - mostly blank space, but people's signature lines are now massive (even though the individuals haven't changed anything*).
Also when you quote a post (especially a post that quotes another post) the amount of wasted space is ridiculous.
Scrolling through this current page (and the paging has now changed, so that's now mostly the previous page) the maximum number of posts I can actually see on my screen at any time is two (and not even two full posts - the end of one and the start of the next). And those are very short posts...
(I would say that I really dislike this new forum... but that's pointless and unproductive, so I won't say it! ;) )
*Just realized that they have - they've had to redo their signatures. When you edit your signature it says "Use up to 2 images. Images will be scaled to a maximum height of 100px. Signatures can be up to 2000 characters long. " The signature imnages I see are far bigger than 100px height, so something's screwed up there (I take that back - they're exactly 100px high) And 2000 characters for a signature? Overkill I think. But I'm tempted to try it...
Also noticed that when you're editing your signature you have an option to never display anybodys signatures, or just not to display images in signatures, so I'll try that. And there's a quote folding option so only one quote is displayed (why not zero?). With signatures hidden and quotes folded I can now sometimes almost see three posts at a time!
Well that sucks. I got my WolffBlink background fixed so most of the time it matches the Dark theme... but I lost the animation... it works fine for me on my desktop but uploaded here it's now static!

Granted I can't sort how to get that inline yet but I am guessing there is some way or can be...I'll have to check on that. Also of note, you could add a sig tag to one of the posts, then get the URL and then add it to your sig as a way to part a sig tag for now :) Just RT Click on the image and select Copy Link Location and then paste it in the sig tag.
FYI you can upload a attachemnt then drag it to the the message box as a URL picture to enlarge the graphic view. kind of a thumbnail and the full view
I added example , this was taken from one of my Karate girl animation story boards too get the idea .. I think that is a cool feature will we be able to embed videos?

Change your username. It stop it. At least it works for me. When I try to return to username gilikshe or simply GiGi, loop return.
While I do apriciate the info, for thoes like me and Novica, there is way to many posts that need to be fixed with updated links. And not all thoes posts are by the Op, and thus it is up to some one else to fix them. For something as simple as a change of one folder-name in the link, That is something much better suited to a script on the server side of things.
P.S. dont steem-roal me like my username is steemroling my post text. I still can't copy text to spell and gramer check it.
"Attach a file" does not work in the same way that the upload tab on Insert Image widget . In CKEditor Toolbar when you click in the Insert Image button and upload an image using the Upload tab you get the URL to the full image inserted automatically in the image tab. There you can set the size, alignment, border and spacing adjusting it to fit your layout. That is the beauty of CKEditor, you can really format and layout your post which is very useful to make tutorials and presentations. Actually to put an image inline I need host it at an external site. It is ridiculous.
Not seems difficult to implement the feature. I just read the documentation at:

Just wondering, has anything been actually fixed yet? Especially the "urgency: fix yesterday" stuff we've all noticed by now? I don't think I see any differences anywhere.
It is funny, I changed my username as
was no longer allowed so wendyluvcatz ended up with the z on the next line and my youtube character JaguarElla is my avatar anyway. but I am seening so many odd names on the forum I do not know who half these people were and odd avatars with ones I do know because of the gallery thing, it is really quite confuzzling.
Now that is nice! I prefer the Upload tab in the Insert Image dialog box, but can use this as workaround. Thanks!
Is there any whay to change the font (type and size) used at one site without it messing up the rest of the inter-web? I'm not kidding about the headaque the random bold letters mixed with random single-pixel letters has given me.

If you go to the little guy (to go to your main store account), once you click on him, it says about My Account, Wishlist, etc. Switch Theme is where you can switch to the dark theme. I very confusedly sorted that out yesterday. I apparently had forgotten it was there all together DOH! *blush*
So what's happening with notifications?
When I click on the "gear" icon up there, it says I have no notifications. And the ones that ARE there are the same ones that were there yesterday. So now that I've turned email notifications OFF so I my inbox doesn't explode, I'm not getting ANY notifications at all to threads that I have subscribed to.

Is there any way of searching the forums for a given topic? I used to be able to just Google a given problem and find a forum that dealt with said problem, quick and easy. But now, none of those forums are showing up anymore, and I really don't relish the idea of manuallly sifting through dozens of different forums, just to find one that covers my current problem!
Just been looking at some pictures in Art Studio. On the old forum, when I clicked on a small picture I would then get the full size one, now nothing happens. How do I get to see the full size version of pictures people have posted?
Quote folding in our forum options - any chance of a "0 levels deep" so quotes aren't shown (but with a little blue ">> show quote" to expand them)?

This is the only option I know of, unfornately it messes with the page layouts of every site out there, not just site spsfic. Oh, and that min font size thing dose nothing as well, with that "Allow Pages to Choose..." thing checked off.
Some observations:
1) In the forum menu page we can no longer see how long ago a thread was updated. There is a time given, if you look closely, but then you have to work out if it is DAZ time or local time, and then do some arithmetic. If I see that a thread was last updated "13 minutes ago" or "6 hours 27 minutes ago" as in the previous forums, I can gauge almost immediately if I am likely to have read it.
2) What are all these K's all over the place for? At first I thought it was a glitch. For example, this thread currently has 5.9K views. What is wrong with 5,900? Or 5,982? The proper figure would be unambiguous, accurate and more informative. And in any case "kilo" is a metric measurement and I thought you liked Imperial in America!
3) Why is there a link to "The Commons" against every thread in ... The Commons?
4) The smileys aren't as varied and expressive as previously.
A test, and neither work for my eyes. One has random bold letters, the other one has out-of-focus blurr text.
This - I really can't be bothered to fix your forum so that I can read it, and if I don't visit the forum I don't visit the store.
