When I try to edit the title of an old thread why do I get "ValidateFormat" in orange just under "Edit Discussion"?

Maybe this is why it won't "Save" the change?

(I've been informed on another thread that the new-new forum software doesn't let you edit any posts that were made on the old-new forum software...)

The configuration is set off for embed object so it will stripping the flash or video codes  :( would be nice to have the option for embed videos

    FCKConfig.ProtectedTags = 'embed|object|param';

You welcomed. I was playing around to see what I could do with embedding pictures last night when i stubbled on to this secert ..lol

I wonder when daz is finshed if we can embeeded html tags like we use too? and what would be really cool is if we could embed out Videos into the post instead of a link

Is there any whay to change the font (type and size) used at one site without it messing up the rest of the inter-web? I'm not kidding about the headaque the random bold letters mixed with random single-pixel letters has given me.

I added example , this was taken from one of my Karate girl animation story boards too get the idea .. I think that is a cool feature will we be able to embed videos?

Awesome tip! Thanks for sharing! I'd not realized you could do that :)

Have to unsubscribe from here again... I complained about the other forum constantly loosing my sub but this one spams my email box.. I really hope the coders figure out how to set up the email notifications (without breaking them) to only email when the notification from the email is clicked on... this is maddening.  36 emails from this thread alone, all seperate posts... yuk!

    hmmm deleted.

what words are being censored, I can't imagine they are actually bad words. I took a clue that the word blood was banned, but seems that is not true.

    Maybe heart is banned?

    Nope, can say that.

    Brains?

Mostly the typical ones that are labelled 4 letter words, crude ones involving sex and insulting ones regarding race or sexual preference.

for example  you could say blow with no problem and then later in the sentence mention having a job, but if you type them together as **** you will get censored

Although you will see the word in your post it won't appear on the forum

I'm adult and can bear to see an adult word in adult world. Where can I turn this censoring filter off?

I don't mind chat filters, but some places block words that don't make sense. Like bastard sword. They are sold on the store. But you can't mention them :(

It's rare someone gets called that anymore anyway, and it's a mild one in modern times. Mostly people say things like "that TV show is a bastardization of scifi and drama". they don't use it to call people names.

You can't  it's set for everyone as we don't have any content filters.   And TBH I am more adult (as in years lived, not neccesarily attitude) than many of the members and I have never used, nor wanted to use, many of the words other people seem to think are necessary in normal conversation. I always remember My English Language teacher saying "Profanity is a way of trying to conceal one's lack of vocabulary"

And the blood that goes in, "It took **** ages to render", lol.

So, as funny as it is, I like it in a way. A single post can solve all problem, like a wild mad-libs post, lol.

    To do ****, simply **** click ****, and **** should ****. rofl.

So, DAZ3D doesn't trust its community to behave like adults and enforces censorship on everybody, despite that filter catches perfectly mundane words or historical names or people being content with occasionally talking about b-a-s-t-a-r-d sword or two?

It be cool if Daz used cartoon symbols like #&*$  for cuss words instead of all astrist symbols  ****** then we would what was a cuss word and what is a bad sensor

Well, as I said in another thread there used to be an Antique shop in one London town I visited regularly which was called Robin B'Stard.   I do not necessarily agree with all the words that have been censored. I am descended from a b'stard line so there are quite legitimate uses of that word.

I'd like to have an option to turn censoring filter off. MMORPGs allow their users to disable censorship filters and their chats are much more vicious than this pale and quiet place.

And again, where I can turn user avatars off? Those annoying little pictures at the left side of the post? I can turn signatures off, why not them?

(EDIT) This was intended as a joke, to be funny, and to point out the potential flaws of blocking specific words in a post. It was written before other events took place, and without the knowledge of those events. (end of edit)

This is just a test, or is it, lol.

As the television shows the forum exploding and then the same scene rewinding, the man says “It has come to our attention that certain groups have gone off like a frog in a sock at the thought that we at Daz would actually blow up a real live forum while making an advertisement. I am here to tell you that nothing of the sort would ever transpire. The forum in the ad was not harmed in the slightest. Unfortunately the next day it died of natural causes but take heart a piece of it will live on in us forever”. He then turns and we see two of the code-millers roasting the forum on a spit as he shouts “More marinade”.

An old fashioned television showing the last part of the last scene and then the spokesman stopping the television and saying “It has come to our attention that certain groups have caught their undergarments in a bunch at the mere notion that our last apology was insincere”. We then see two of the group of code-millers stacking forum-skin luggage next to him as he continues “The proposition that we would explode let alone feast upon a beloved Daz icon is plain poppycock” and finishes with an insincere laugh.

Somebody mentioned a "keep me logged in" option.  Where is that?

This morning when I clicked on an email notification link (I know, bad practice) it diplayed the forum for like a quarter second, then erased it and says "Sign Out

You are attempting to sign out. Are you sure you want to sign out?".  So it doesn't sign you out after a certain period of inactivity, but rather signs you out the second you try to visit after a period of inactivity?  Doesn't really affect me, but it seems somewhat pointless to keep you signed in forever EXCEPT for the exact moment you want to be signed in.  If it's supposed to be a security thing for example, it isn't working if it's keeping you signed in that whole time.  Unless the message doesn't match reality and you really are signed out, but then it shouldn't actually show you the forums while you are signed out, not even for a split second.

Another issue that's QUITE annoying... when you click on an image to expand it you have to hit the back button to go to the posts again.  How about a pop up with and X to exit rather than all that mess??

I already said I don't mind chat filters. However taking the position people don't have a strong grasp of a language based on arbiratry rules is both ignorant and arrogant.  You must realise that in some cultures there are no obscene words, and even with English what is obscene to one is just a word to another.

I really have no interested in turning this into a social debate, but a certain response forced my hand. I do think they should evaluate the damn filter list however. It seems overly agressive.

You can say blood.  But you can't say blood-y.  (Hmm, I wonder if that worked)  Interesting, since there are probably a lot of blood-y swords in the galleries, and they sell plenty of swords here, some that look like they would extract all of your blood if actually used.

in my country, blood +y is not offensive. I understand in some places it means a particular thing, but I thought Daz was US company? In US its not an offensive term. Overzealous filtering. I hope they fix it.

We can't possibly appease everyone in the universe, so maybe just filter out the generally accepted "bad" words.

This. I like to look to see if someone has already posted a solution before starting a new post.
If search is here, I haven't found it yet. Thanks.
