Did a first render with the cam08 (main promo), gave it 15,000 iterations and it is very grainy still.

    Any suggestions?

Did you/can you use the denoiser?

    What?

I was wondering when you'd show up.

I did not use the denoiser as the results are not satisfying.

I used postwork but it's either still grainy or blurred.

    Is it the steam props?

I don't know what kind of card you have, but I have a good, but older Quadro P6000. I brought in the denoiser at 1200 samples and left it run to about 4200 total samples. Even before the denoiser kicked in, it was starting to clear up pretty well tho.

  • I NEVER buy a new set when it isfirst released....until I saw Wonderland and then I did! With my love of distopian sci-fi I just couldn't scroll past and wait for a sale.

I haven't had nearly enough time to play with it yet, byond a couple of test renders, but there are so many interesting corners it will be my go to scene for a while to come i think.

    Thank you Stonemasion!

  • Stonemason has always created my favorite props!

    Such a treat!

Displacement isn't something that Iray does very well, unlike 3delight which has micro displacment at rendertime ,Iray subdivides the mesh which can be a huge drain on time and memory...so I'm very selective on where I use it,this set for eample it's only used to raise the tread on some tires.

I'm always trying to be careful to create environments that everyone can render,

Though I can't really think of anything in this environment that would need a displacement map

I use displacement in some of my shader sets.  Iray requires lots of geometry to do it right.

I'll give the Denoiser a try. Have RTX 3060 with 12 GB.

Looks like I owe an apology to Daz Denoiser. Tried the settings suggested by @AllenArt and gave 25,000 iterations and it's awesome.

The Xenogirl is undressed so I guess I should not post over here.

  • Great set as always...

Having trouble getting this over to Unreal 5 using the bridge. Other Stonemason sets work well.

Anyone have success getting this to bridge over to Unreal? I see some blender images, so I'm asking.

    AND... nevermind! LOL
Yes, I tried importing as a "static mesh" instead of my usual habit of exporting as "environment" and it' worked as expected now.
Replacing the water and steam elements now and going to have a look. Going to go back to the Stonemason sets I've tried to import before and see if imorting as Static Mesh instead of Envronments will show similar results.
